This won't end well. She's bound to break a fingernail and put SoK in danger whilst eating lunch with Pat. Ursula will alert Rob to her escape and he'll drag her away from her family again.

Stickerrocks · 10/03/2016 19:13

10 weeks to go then.

MeolsCop · 10/03/2016 19:14

'Rob wouldn't like you going out on your own...'

WTAF? So now she can't even go out without being guarded accompanied? Seriously, what planet are they on?

Ooh, the bath has been referenced.

Hang on, did she just say she had 10 weeks to go??

Stickerrocks · 10/03/2016 19:15

Pat has pushed it too far again.

Shallishanti · 10/03/2016 19:15

no!
mw and const will NOT have said it's OK !

Boomingmarvellous · 10/03/2016 19:15

Shut up pat, shut up, shut up!

Too late!

IorekByrnisonsArmour · 10/03/2016 19:16

And Hellin has vented her frustrations at the wrong person

Boomingmarvellous · 10/03/2016 19:19

Oh! Roy (of the crimplene trousers) and Lizzie (lady if the manor).

Sadly I didn't miss that, I just though maybe a real gardner or gamekeeper.. not hellins morose amour

Stickerrocks · 10/03/2016 19:20

It's all going to kick off tomorrow. Helen will be wound up when she gets home, Ursula will have snitched to Rob, who will tell her that her family are making her ill and he only wants to the best for her "so why don't you just go for a nice lie down, darling, and let me lock the bedroom door behind you..."

Gruach · 10/03/2016 19:21

So this is what Stockholm syndrome actually looks like?

Helen will return to Blossom Hell red faced and tearful, crying to Rob that her DM upset her. And he'll announce that she must never see any of her evil, abusive, SOK threatening family ever again.

Putthetulipsthere · 10/03/2016 19:23

What did Pat do? I had to turn it off when I heard Arsula's voice berating Helen about how to fold Henry's shirts. 😁😁

Boomingmarvellous · 10/03/2016 19:25

Why can't pat stop putting her foot in it and actually look and LISTEN to her daughter, instead of bulldozing her way in Angry

Missed opportunity and yet another wedge between Hellin and help. Does no one in ambridge have any finesse? Talk about wearing job nailed boots.

And Hellin will run out of the farmhouse and fall down the bleeding pothole and oblige Ursilla and knob to lock her up for good in purpose built tower. Better start growing your hair Hellin!

Sigh......

BYOSnowman · 10/03/2016 19:26

Plot driven crap

ColdTeaAgain · 10/03/2016 19:28

Oh dear, do I dare listen on catch up? My day has been stressful enough already!

lljkk · 10/03/2016 19:28

Have we actually heard what MW or consultant said to H? I missed some episodes.

I know that's not being serious, but Stockholm syndrome is something else. It's where someone knows from the start they were a hostage, and never forget that, but quickly decide to adopt their captor's perspective on what is right or wrong and become loyal to their captor (alternative too scary).

Helen is something else. I don't know if there is a name for Helen's stubborn need to maintain a facade that she is in charge and everyone is against her if they question any choice she makes. What Pat said was entirely reasonable.

Abraid2 · 10/03/2016 19:38

Helen really needed to talk about the cheese-making with her mother. It would have been the best thing for her. Sad

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 10/03/2016 19:38

What she said was reasonable, but how she said it wasn't. To be fair, Pat has form for putting her foot in it with Helen.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 10/03/2016 19:39

And no, we haven't heard Helen talking to a midwife or doctor.

Yes, Abraid2, she sounded like the old Helen when Pat was telling her about the cheese. Sad

Gruach · 10/03/2016 19:47

lljkk Mr Google seems to disagree with you - Stockholm syndrome in relationships brings up several articles and, judging by the very apparent the similarities to Helen's situation, I suspect Google is where the SWs have done most of their research.

Obviously I have no idea about the credentials of the various people who've decided to make their views available.

That was so sad! She'd wanted to say all that to the evil couple but only felt safe excoriating her poor mother instead.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 10/03/2016 19:51

Yes, exactly, Gruach. But will Pat see that was what was happening? I doubt it.

lljkk · 10/03/2016 19:54

Ah well, fair enough, maybe the definition has expanded. A bit like "Asthma" describes a huge range of conditions nowadays.

I still want to throttle Hell. I feel sorry for her. But I want to throttle sense into her. (you'll be glad to know I'm not in a caring profession).

How will it end?????? Not satisfactorily, I imagine, if true to life.

drspouse · 10/03/2016 19:56

I listened to Monday's which was blessedly knob-free. Can I bear to catch up?

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 10/03/2016 19:58

oh bugger

I reached for the off switch as soon as I heard Ursula

and yesterday's was so much fun, what with Jenny's Old Kitchen and the Runaway Stroppy Teen, too

I was even relieved to hear Lizzie dammit

can they do HelRob/NON HelRob, I wonder

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 10/03/2016 20:00

No Rob tonight, and only a few seconds of Ursula at the very start. Most of it was David, Ed, Kenton and Jolene.

MuddhaOfSuburbia · 10/03/2016 20:06

oh but come tea time, I don't want to hear Rob, Ursula OR Helen even

I don't want my frail nerves shredded while I strain my greens

I find myself getting all nostalgic for old storylines that drove me up the wall at the time

ah, Jenny's kitchen
