My dad has just done his PA1 & PA2 course as he had grandfather rights for many years. If I remember rightly from the invoice it was only a few hundred pounds.

There's a lot of Ed Grundy types doing odd bits of work for farmers round here. I agree it'd be nice to see ed&em have a bit of a run of good luck.

If you are on minimum wage then "only a few hundred pounds" is the best part of a week's wages. And there is the double whammy that you can't train and work at the same time so it costs (a) course fees and (b) lost income.

The going rate for an Ed Grundy round here is £12-15 ph

I wondered that Pseudo , I don't know about agriculture rules for labour but in construction, we have to pay their tax even if they are self employed. we would be looking at short courses in chainsaw handling, driving machinery etc. If he's self employed he should have insurance for the kind of work he does.

That's true r4 which is why I would have expected the repayment terms to be discussed! If it is £500 and he pays back over a year that is more feasible than having to pay it as he earns it

And yes as pp said there have been several more references to Hellin not actually eating but Rob telling people she is -- because there is no way he can say she's not really eating and I master of everythjng don't have a clue what to do.
