Not long until our thread's 3 year birthday!

OP posts:
MuddhaOfSuburbia · 26/02/2016 18:55

....btw I'm not his mum, honest

He does sound exactly like my next door neighbour, tho

BYOSnowman · 26/02/2016 18:56

Your 2yo next door neighbour?

Gruach · 26/02/2016 19:06

For goodness sake - can't she see they're working?!

Travelledtheworld · 26/02/2016 19:08

Ok here we go with Rob trying to get Johnny off the farm.....

BYOSnowman · 26/02/2016 19:08

Oooh, we get to hear animals now. I'm sure that soundtrack is on a short loop.

Topical flooding insert. yawnorama. And surely Lynda will have seen farmers handling sheep before and not be so amazed.

Annoying to have to hear more robhel. I wish they would keep it to once a week.

Rob is extremely stupid when it comes to money/economics. That was brave of Helen.

AskBasil · 26/02/2016 19:10

Ooh... insubordination from Hellin

BYOSnowman · 26/02/2016 19:12

Calve unassisted. Is this the compare and contrast with a home birth!!

BYOSnowman · 26/02/2016 19:14

Kirsty overstepped the mark a bit too early here. But maybe this will make her think but I don't think she will be talking to Kirsty any time soon.

sunnydayinmay · 26/02/2016 19:15

No, but she will be thinking about it!

Stickerrocks · 26/02/2016 19:15

Darn!

lljkk · 26/02/2016 19:16

H is completely enmeshed with Knob's dysfunctional social skills. It's like a lesson in codependency.

sunnydayinmay · 26/02/2016 19:17

But Kirsty knows. Actually knows. I can't imagine shell keep quiet about this

BYOSnowman · 26/02/2016 19:18

Well this will have confirmed it. Will she talk to pat? That would be the sensible thing to do. And then pat would think about the home birth nonsense etc.

Oh I forgot, pat isn't here any more

EsmesBees · 26/02/2016 19:20

That's exactly it lljkk. Very codependent.

What Kirsty needs is an ally. All she needs to do is have a quick word with Pat or Tom. But probably won't because of the wedding disaster.

Gruach · 26/02/2016 19:28

I see another ending now, kind of gothic horror. When Kirsty confronts Helen's family each one of them will stoutly defend Rob, they'll hold a family meeting, drop a few words in the right ears, accuse Kirsty of unheard of outrages .. In the final scene we'll see Kirsty behind bars, muttering, protesting, calling Helen's name over and over ...

Fink · 26/02/2016 19:38

I didn't hear the door go before Rob came in (although there were family members around talking, tsk) ... how much of what Kirsty said did he overhear?

JasperDamerel · 26/02/2016 19:40

I think that as soon as Kitsty and Tom talk, things will happen. Kirsty knows and Tom clearly suspects.

BYOSnowman · 26/02/2016 19:42

I don't know how much he heard. Don't think it was clear

makemineasnowball · 26/02/2016 20:15
Smile
BitOutOfPractice · 26/02/2016 20:49

Oh! I really hoped then. I think Helen sort of panicked at hearing the truth actually said out loud. God it's frustrating

ColdTeaAgain · 26/02/2016 20:50

Bugger Kirsty pushed it too far but let's hope she sees exactly what's going on now. I really want her to be the heroine!

I think Knob heard absolutely everything, his interruption was very well timed.

FinestGrundyTurkey · 26/02/2016 20:54

There really is absolutely no reason why Rob shouldn't get a job elsewhere. None at all. He doesn't need to be on the spot to mind Helen and/or Henry and/or SOK, now or later.

It was good to hear H trying to make that point, & defending Johnny's right to have a job on the farm over Rob's choice to stay in the bloody shop. She's not completely flattened yet.

BYOSnowman · 26/02/2016 20:55

Note 'a mother should be at home in the early years'

Helen is never working again

ColdTeaAgain · 26/02/2016 21:01

Yes was great hearing Helen question his career choices. Note she said it as quiet as a mouse though, she knew how he would react.

Absolutely no way will SOK have a working mum!

Boomingmarvellous · 26/02/2016 21:12

I think Tom and Kirsty will get back together again when they finally compare notes and try to save Hellen.

They'll stop Henry being packed off to boarding school with pats awakening.

Personally I think Kirsty should have stood up to knob and called him on the bullying and manipulation and he would have shown himself for the nutter he is. Maybe even hit her like in 'Dr Foster'.

Hellen seems to be swallowing the 'you are helpless, incompetent, forgetful etc' line completely.
