!We were right. They have been thrashing aroung not knowing how to get out of this and delaying.

ppeatfruit · 18/02/2016 10:38

R4 Thank you !!! He's going then !!! Silly me I didn't read your link till just now. Blush

There was a lovely woman script writer interviewed last year I think(I can't remember her name) she'd be lovely as editor.

Though to be fair it must be a poisoned chalice to whoever takes the post, you can't please all the listeners all the time.

He is more interested in progressing his career than in any show. Not an artist, merely an ambitious man

EBearhug · 18/02/2016 10:49

Staying till late Spring is the equivalent of a moonlight flit surely

Or 3 months notice?

WipsGlitter · 18/02/2016 10:50

Ok, catching up here; firstly is it ok to answer someones else's mobile like Ursula did? And yes the personality transplant is weird.

EBearhug · 18/02/2016 10:51

Absolutely. Though one can't help feeling he has more loyalty to EE than TA.

MimsyPimsy · 18/02/2016 11:31

A bit late, but re Ursula, I wonder if she's been brought in to slow down the ratcheting up of the abuse, so as to prolong the storyline. After all, Rob has been very successful at bringing in new listeners. And that story has taken up so much time, that there's been no time to develop any other plots eg Shula and Alistair.

redshoeblueshoe · 18/02/2016 12:09

But Ursula isn't nice. Answering Hels phone, re-arranging ornaments. Who is playing her ? Its really bugging me.

Are we having a party ?

BertrandRussell · 18/02/2016 12:16

The answering the phone thing is perfectly normal, isn't it? That's exactly what I would do if someone's phone rang and they weren't there to answer it. Wouldn't anyone?

And I don't know about the ornament thing- we'll have to with and see. But if the worst thing someone does is move a vase............Grin

BYOSnowman · 18/02/2016 12:29

I would like to move away from the cliche drama staple that a bad husband is created by his mother

EveEveEve · 18/02/2016 12:34

I hoped Ursula was going to speed things up.
Desperately trying to connect the dots and work out the consistency of her character.... No still can't find any answer that makes any sense.

Dumdedumdedum · 18/02/2016 12:41

Apologies if this, from yesterday evening's pm, has already been posted: www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p03jwjgb

WipsGlitter · 18/02/2016 13:14

I wouldn't answer a mobile - a normal phone probably but not a mobile.

BYOSnowman · 18/02/2016 13:17

A lot of people don't have a landline anymore though

I'm on the fence. I only answer dh phone if I know who it is but will invariably leave it

Minimammoth · 18/02/2016 13:39

Am I alone in thinking that the baby might be a girl. it was so obvious in the scans has mislead people before.

EBearhug · 18/02/2016 13:41

I might answer a partner's phone, although I have actually only done it when they're driving and I could say, "it's so-and-so," and they've said, "answer it," rather than, "let them leave a message."

But the phone of someone I'd only met a couple of times? Only if they'do specifically said, "can you get the phone if it goes?"

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 18/02/2016 13:44

I wouldn't answer somebody else's mobile unless they had asked me to. I wouldn't invariably answer a landline phone either. I used to work in an office where I would answer my colleague's phone when she was out of the room (and vice versa) even though we didn't work as part of a team. Mostly it was a good idea because we could take messages for each other and occasionally quickly answer simple queries, which was no big deal for us but a timesaver overall. However, from time to time it meant I found I was being expected to sort out something which wasn't my responsibility but which I was now somehow implicated in because of picking up that phone (and vice versa - boy, did A get me out of some messes over the years!). So in my current job I've been relieved to find that we are positively discouraged from doing that. Voicemail is there for a reason.

sunnydayinmay · 18/02/2016 14:06

Can I just check - did Knob actually legally adopt Henwee?

firesidechat · 18/02/2016 14:16

No, he got parental responsibility instead.

AskingForAPal · 18/02/2016 14:27

Glad to have brought joy! :)

That tweet about Rob taking over is scary! "Sean darling, you're doing too much again. You go and have a nice hot bath and I'll edit this. I've sorted it with your mother."

VinceNoirLovesHowardMoon · 18/02/2016 14:35

I wouldn't answer a phone even a partner's unless they told me to.
Possibilities - ursula is actually nice, and helps Helen in some way
Or she's not very nice but serves to expose rob somehow
Or she's a manipulative abusive horror which will make me cross.
I reckon either Helen will give birth early or it will be a girl, either of which would expose rob for the horror that he is in the way he would deal with it. I'm seriously hoping this is the beginning of the helrob denouement

Swannykazoo · 18/02/2016 15:01

Can barely wait to the Omnibus. I have a non-obedient toddler who insists on watching Peppa at 7 not listerning quiety to Mummy's programme. Grr

GruntledOne · 18/02/2016 15:02

Isn't it much more usual to have mistaken identifications of babies as girls than as boys?

Stickerrocks · 18/02/2016 15:05

The boy we were accidentally told we were having at a 20 week scan arrived as my gorgeous DD 14 years ago this weekend. Her bedroom is still blue & she lives in rugby shirts!

EBearhug · 18/02/2016 15:17

I blame the parents.

We were never given a choice (nor a TV till 1986 when I was 14.) So Ambridge has been part of my life forever.

(My phone offered me BL as a possible word. I wonder if it was referring to the British Library or Borchester Land?)
