Come on Kirsty!

I'd be happy to put up with a few more episodes of EE style misery if it Leads to Knobs downfall.

Do we think Kirsty and Roy will hook up?

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 04/02/2016 22:25

I thought Rob's suggestion that Tom go to Canada was post the big scream. His main interfering before that was in Tom's business.

EssexMummy1234 · 04/02/2016 22:32

different kate? again?

MrsWembley · 04/02/2016 23:06

ThanksThanks & some WineWine

Now, everybody get around to talking about what happened tonight. Guessing it was something to do with Lillian moving in with Brain and Jennifer? Why is she, btw?

PresidentOliviaMumsnet · 04/02/2016 23:20

Place marking
Rob will know her phone pin - it'll be his birthday/H's birthday or worse their creepy elopement to the IOW anniversary

Lillian is staying at Home Farm because she is the sort of woman who cannot live on her own.

Eastpoint · 05/02/2016 05:48

Thank you for the new thread Pseudo.

I LA'd to Thursday's episode & it was enjoyable. Thank you too to those who let me know.

LillianGish · 05/02/2016 07:54

Lillian is staying at Home Farm so she can be part of the action - stuck away in the Dower House on her own she would be another character to drop off the radar. The Lillian/Brian interaction will take the place of the hilarious new kitchen plot.

MrsWembley · 05/02/2016 08:03

Ah, Lillian and Brian... Will the laughter ever start end?Smile

Tom asked advice from Rob when he was running into debt in the period before the wedding because Rob is such a wonderful businessman and experienced farmer.
Rob advised him to cut costs by buying non-organic pig food. This resulted in Tom almost losing his certification though Pat and Tony had to handle it all because Tom had bolted. A whole batch of pigs had to be sold off cheap.
Then, when tom didn't show up for the wedding Rob had advised him to skip off to Canada and gave him the contact he had from when he was working there. He never told the family this.
Thus when Tony was near death they couldn't get hold of Tom but Rob never bothered to tell them where he was.

Imbroglio · 05/02/2016 08:12

Nice to hear Adam on form.

I thought the BL suits were very stereotyped and Justin has also had a personality transplant. Is he being lined up to have a 'thing' with Lilian?

Imbroglio · 05/02/2016 08:14

enochroot I'd forgotten about the pig food, but I'm amazed Tom has.

Mind you, Tom seems less committed to organic these days.

enochroot · 05/02/2016 08:19

The whole family suffers from selective amnesia. Tom's also forgotten that Rob ordered a bunch of cows for Bridge Farm which were not right for the organic status of the farm. I forget the details.
Rob also advised Tom to sell off the ready meal business which Tom seems to have achieved in hours.

Gruach · 05/02/2016 08:46

That's an utterly brilliant point Lil'G - it had seemed that they used the flood to displace and rearrange characters around the village - but you've highlighted an overarching agenda "no Ambridgeite left alone".

The most unlikely people domestically yoked together - and when the dance stopped - Carol was left in an empty house. She should have insisted on moving in a companion or a lover - or one of the flood victims.

Is there anyone still living by themselves? Oh. Um ... Elizabeth. And the doctor.

Boomingmarvellous · 05/02/2016 09:39

It's clear Hellin is being gaslighted to the nth degree and by the time she cottons on it will be too late. Knob will have convinced her family, the midwife, Henry's teachers and the whole community that Hel is flaky, mentally ill with anorexia, forgetful, incapable of managing on her own and TAKING CARE OF TWO CHILDREN. Hellin will also realise this too late and know she can't escape without losing the kids, so she will have to capitulate to all of knobs demands, become a surrendered wife and live in hell.

Not sure who will save her Sad

Dumdedumdedum · 05/02/2016 09:57

Refuge has put out a statement about The Helen Titchener Rescue Fund, which is up to nearly £19,000 as I type.

GruntledOne · 05/02/2016 10:10

My sympathies are definitely with Brine on the Lillian storyline. I like my SiL and all, but I would be definitely pissed off if she casually announced she was going to live with us indefinitely, even if I did live in a fuckoff big house. Likewise I'd hate to live in someone else's house forever, I like my own space.

NotdeadyetBOING · 05/02/2016 10:14

I am 100% with you, Gruntled. It's one thing if there is a crisis (like the flood) and family pulls together, but quite another if someone just decides they fancy staying with you so they can make some money letting out their place.

JapanNextYear · 05/02/2016 10:36

Hi Dumdedum thank you for posting the link to the Refuge Donation fund.

Gruach · 05/02/2016 10:40

I love the prospect of Lillian eternally under Brian's feet - but it's likely she'll be spending rather a lot of time showing Justin the delights of the Dower House ...

And if not Brian might insist she moves into Debbie's cottage - I honestly cannot imagine that many people want a holiday in a place recently hit by floods.

NotdeadyetBOING · 05/02/2016 10:43

I think it's high time Lilian started having some fun again. A spot of slap and tickle with Justin sounds just the ticket.

HeadSpaceAvailable · 05/02/2016 10:50

Thank you Lil xx
(Changing names until I find one I like!)

stealthsquiggle · 05/02/2016 11:09

I don't know if anyone has linked to this already, but there is a JustGiving page for a rescue fund for Helen here - funds going to Refuge to help some RL Helens.

stealthsquiggle · 05/02/2016 11:10

Oops. X post. Sorry.

BYOSnowman · 05/02/2016 11:21

Re rob knowing where Tom was. That wasn't the issue at the time of the accident. There was just no mention of Tom at all and then when he was mentioned it was in a very off the cuff 'oh I've left him a message'. It was really poor sw that the close to death persons son wasn't mentioned for weeks
