Lillian and Justin would be wonderful. They sound FUN together.

AskingForAPal · 04/02/2016 19:34

Checking in to the new thread

HumphreyCobblers · 04/02/2016 19:42

I LOVED that episode. Especially Brian's shouting Grin

BoreOfWhabylon · 04/02/2016 19:44

Nah, Lil won't SOTMC just yet - she will give up the fags for Lynda's Lenten Curtain Fund.

WipsGlitter · 04/02/2016 19:48

Marking.

Whole taxi thing, money's on the side, cancelled your dad was chilling. Also the constant cups of tea is he drugging her????

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 04/02/2016 19:59

what is particularly frustrating about the KnobHell storyline is the fact that he gets away with and is rewarded by his behaviour time after time.

Ah but some twunts people are just like that my horrible ex for starters, managed to end up leaving his wife for OW, leaving her shagging around loads, then muggins came along to take care of his kids on his access days, then ours kids all the time when he couldn't be arsed. He stirs up shit, get in trouble and gets away with it everytime. My mum still thinks he is charming. I kicked him out he was single for all of a month then he had 3 women on the go, they found out about each other and he still kept two of them! His main complaint when I kicked him out was it wasn't fair that he now had to pay to heat his house as he was living in it. And he still spends bugger all time with his kids. And he had women flocking to him to try to make him feel better.

So basically his punishment for being a dick is lots of sex, freetime and no responsibilities (other than cm). There are no real consequences.

I could try telling his current gf but as he will have told her I am bitter, twisted and mad as a bag of frogs she won't believe me - much like Helen didn't believe Jess.

But I wouldn't want to be him.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 04/02/2016 20:01

Oh and I don't think Hel found maternity clothes in charity shop - it was a vouple of big jumpers, a shirt and a mauve dress. So that sounds like possibly a maternity dress and other than that just baggy and a bit stereotypical hiding pg / ED

AdventuresOfADentist · 04/02/2016 20:04

Fair enough Jess Grin

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 04/02/2016 20:15

And yes BOOP for Home farm they are now included in my permitted no archers cast list. Except Adam.

BYOSnowman · 04/02/2016 20:16

I lost a lot of weight in early pregnancy and didn't really need maternity tops - and trousers and skirts lasted longer than I thought. So I'm surprised it wasn't trousers she was after

Minimammoth · 04/02/2016 20:32

All hail the badger, creator of threads.
Sounds as if I can safely listen to this episode.
Cmon Helen LTB.

MrsWembley · 04/02/2016 20:38

Delurking to ask a couple several questions. I haven't been listening regularly for a while now as I started to get tired of shouting at the radio. I play catch up with you guysWink

Is Jess' baby definitely not Knob's? I figured he'd have something up his sleeve (blackmailing Adam to pop along for the test in his place being one idea of mine), but I missed the actual test and only heard the result.

Why did he leave Berrow?

Who was/is Stefan?

Why is Pat being so unobservant? And why isn't Kirsty going to her with her worries?

What happened to Hellin and Ian's friendship? Surely, way before Knob dropped his bomb (actually was listening that day, hand to mouth moment!), Ian should have noticed something? And how did Adam get away with it?

I remember the birth of BOOP, but I can't remember what it stands for!

Thanks in advance!!WineThanks

TheSilveryPussycat · 04/02/2016 20:41

Does this mean I can safely LA to tonight's episode? I have mild pangs of withdrawal...

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 04/02/2016 20:48

BOOP - Bit Out Of Practice thinks we need to praise the good bits as well as lay into the bad bits. Grin

Pat has been brainwashed. Only possible explanation. (Tony is apparently in panto at the moment, hence long absence.) Kirsty's relationship with Bridge Farm is still a bit tricky, I suppose.

Stefan worked at Berrow Farm and told Jennifer and David that Rob had been behaving oddly during the flood. It looked as if Rob might have been responsible for making things much worse for Ambridge than they really needed to be. Unfortunately nothing came of this and Stefan left in a hurry to go home to be with a sick relative (according to Rob).

Rob left Berrow after a big row with Charlie, who was trying to work out why the fertility stats were so poor. He seemed to be on the verge of establishing that Rob had falsified some data to hide incompetence at best. Again, rather frustratingly dropped.

We heard the DNA sample being taken live on air (cheek swab). It was definitely Rob taking the test. Keri Davies has taken to Twitter to confirm that the baby was not Rob's.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 04/02/2016 20:52

SilveryPussycat, yes indeed. It's entirely set at Home Farm with a brief excursion to the boardroom of Borchester Land.

FinestGrundyTurkey · 04/02/2016 20:57

LOL at lugubrious Tony being in panto Grin

BYOSnowman · 04/02/2016 21:10

Stefan saw onob blocking the culvert. By blocking the culvert one of the main roads into ambridge flooded this holding up any rescue efforts

That's how I understood it anyway

cheminotte · 04/02/2016 21:13

Thanks for the new thread Pseudo .
I had to stop listening part way through Tuesday's episode, it was just too painful. Should I listen to the rest of it or skip it?
I was really enjoying the curtain bit.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 04/02/2016 21:28

chem if you heard the curtain bit I'd leave it at that.

02 Feb 16: Lynda wants people to give up money for Lent to buy stage curtains; Rob cancels Helen's trip but Kirsty's on to him .

summary from.Ambridge abridged

Unless you want to hear Kirsty conversation with Roy about H.

cheminotte · 04/02/2016 21:32

I heard Rob intercept Helen at the school and then later her apologising to him and switched off then. Was LA at 7.30 this am while getting ready for work and just could not bear it.

Ploy · 04/02/2016 21:45

Wish I could give up money for lent!

Imbroglio · 04/02/2016 21:51

I wonder if Peggy will be the one to scupper Rob. She likes him but she doesn't seem to have seen Helen for a while and I think she'll spot the thinness and distress... I do hope so!

I really want this to come to a head soon. I wonder if its being ramped up in time for Valentines...

GruntledOne · 04/02/2016 21:52

How come they all seem to have lost interest in the flood and preventing any recurrence? You'd think the recent floods in the North West might have sparked a bit of conversation about it.

Stickerrocks · 04/02/2016 21:54

The Justgiving/HelenTitchener page has now received nearly £16k of donations & is top of their trending list. Refuge & the chap who set it up must be delighted.

LapsedPacifist · 04/02/2016 22:10

Another long-time listener delurking here! Smile.

Now, can anyone provide me with a recap on Rob's meddling in the Tom/Kirsty debacle? I seem to recall Tom confided in Rob re. his doubts, and Knob arranged for Tom to disappear off to Canada.

If Knob confronts Kirsty and tells her to stay away from Hellin, would he be able to resist hinting he'd been instrumental in scuppering her marriage? Just to demonstrate to her how all powerful and omnipotent he is, particularly regarding to do with the Archer family? Then Kirsty could report this back to Pat, who gets confirmation from Tom, and the scales fall from the respective Fambly eyes! Shock
