Sorry I missed the end of the Charlie Adam thing. Did they have another snog?

Travelledtheworld · 24/01/2016 19:56

DSclarke NOOO.
Adam rushed round to the Bull to find that Charlie had already gone and he had missed him. Was delayed by Ed wanting to gossip about Berrow, realised he was late for lunch date with Ian and rushed to Grey Gables to be reprimanded and have a gloomy meal with grumpy life partner.....

BertrandRussell · 24/01/2016 19:58

"The man who lives around the corner from us has a rather large shed & he's fitted it with a wood burning stove. That is the height of luxury imo."

Our aforementioned rich friends have a wood burner in their treehouse!

BertrandRussell · 24/01/2016 20:00

"reprimanded and have a gloomy meal with grumpy life partner....."

Absolutely justified- both reprimand and grumpiness! Adam is such a git! has he always been or is it a personality transplant?

enochroot · 24/01/2016 20:04

BTW - I don't believe for a moment that Rob hasn't been throwing out perfectly good Tom sausages. He is intending to stock the chiller cabinet with Walls' sausages.
Pat might notice then.

BertrandRussell · 24/01/2016 20:12

But how can he do that? What about stock control?

And why does he want to shop to fail anyway? It's his only source of income!

EBearhug · 24/01/2016 20:12

Shepherd's huts cost a fortune partly because they're terribly the in thing at the moment.

I was almost ready for Rob and Tom to come to physical blows. Tom's card will definitely be marked now, but he has always been very focussed on getting his stock out there, which I think will carry him past Rob difficulties, and send him to Kirsty in alliance against Rob, and they will save Helen.

Adam's always had a hint of gittishness, I think. Look at how he was when Pavel was about. Mostly he's okay, except when he's thinking with his penis.

BYOSnowman · 24/01/2016 20:15

Rob doesn't want the shop to fail. He wants it to bra big success.

But he is an arrogant idiot who doesn't know what he's doing!

EBearhug · 24/01/2016 20:22

He doesn't want the shop to fail - but he's quite happy for Tom to fail along the way. Then he'd be seen as the only capable one.

BYOSnowman · 24/01/2016 20:26

Not sure where the word bra came from in my previous post

I wonder how long he has worked in the same job for? In my experience, people can manage about 2 years before their ability catches up with them and they move on. How long was he at Berrow?

tibbawyrots · 24/01/2016 20:43

We're actually considering getting a shepherds hut or gypsy caravan but the price has made us think it's a project for not just yet. On the back burner for a while, well at least until I've sold my old house.

tibbawyrots · 24/01/2016 20:49

I hated the way that Pat turned on Tom in that meeting. If Tom and Helen are in charge, Tom has equal rights to make decisions as Helen does.

Or it would be, in real life. Confused

Ignoring Rob's chronic mismanagement, of course.

FiveShelties · 24/01/2016 21:15

Lovely new thread and a fantastic title - thank you.

PseudoBadger · 24/01/2016 21:23

All credit for the title goes to Gruach Flowers

Rob doesn't want the shop to fail. He just wants the organic-ness to be a dropped. He dreams of running the whole business one day too and making that non-organic when Helen inherits her half share. (Has she already?)
First he has to dominate new Tom like he did old Tom.

Come to think of it, he wants to dominate Tom anyway and be alpha male.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 25/01/2016 01:00

Yup Rob always thought organic was nonsense. Hence why he never got on with Pat in first place. He was big agri.

Then he turned their charming rustic farm shop into a clinical monstrosity.

He pushed Tom to over commercialise the readymeals.

And now he wants Tom sausages out because he wants to marginalise Tom from the business, push Helen out then it will be his. He is a controlling arse. He also probably wants to keep T away from H and possibly to rob the till.

LillianGish · 25/01/2016 06:26

What's going to happen when Helen and Tom get together to make the black pudding? Helen won't be able to contradict Knob re sausages because she's been effectively banished from the shop. Tom had it spot on when he told Knob if the sausages weren't selling it was because Knob wasn't promoting them properly. I'm counting on the Sausage King's love of his sausages (above everything else) to win the day here.
Our aforementioned rich friends have a wood burner in their treehouse! Do they just lean out of the door when they need to stoke the fire and saw off a branch?

enochroot · 25/01/2016 08:57

I expect Rob will do his best to prevent Helen going to a cook-in with Tom.
I hope Joe's 'recipe' doesn't make a fool of Tom though.

ppeatfruit · 25/01/2016 09:41

Bah to luxury "shepherds' huts" They look like luxury hen coops to me. HOW MUCH?? There are certainly rich pickings to be made from daft folk with more money than sense.

Boop for the Tom V knob battle, Tom won that IMO, I loved him 'ordering' knob to serve the customer. HOORAY!!!

Adam is flibbertigibbet ,n what annoys me more than his loose morals is his 'spraying' fungicide all over the fields, esp. as he seems to have some thought for the environment with his herbal leys. [lays] ?

BYOSnowman · 25/01/2016 09:56

Anyone seen Madagascar 2? That's what the Tom/knob serve a customer convo made me think of. Not sure who was the lion and who was the penguin though

EBearhug · 25/01/2016 11:52

They look like luxury hen coops to me.

My father used to sleep in a chicken hut when he stewarded at an agricultural show. Admittedly this was 40-50 years ago...

WipsGlitter · 25/01/2016 12:03

What is Adam playing at!

Great bits with Tom and Rob!!

songbird · 25/01/2016 14:08

Yep so going on past form, Rob's going to be really gunning for Tom now!

Thanks for new thread!

JapanNextYear · 25/01/2016 14:09

Anyone else wondering if Adam is soon going to be heading off on a 'fact finding mission' to Scotland....?

BertrandRussell · 25/01/2016 14:13

Who's actually in charge at the shop?
