But why is the scan next week ? My dd's due 2weeks after Hellin, and she had her 20 week scan about 2 weeks ago. I know no-one else cares but my dd is having a girl

Patbot - I have no words.

ColdTeaAgain · 29/01/2016 21:58

It's getting to the point where I have an actual physical reaction where my heart starts racing, and not in a good way, whenever Nob is up to his trick (which is every time he speaks!). The way he is starting to control everything is really quite chilling.

Somehow I think those tops will be the last time Helen buys anything of her own choosing Sad

Not sure if the scan will reveal anything or not. I have scanned plenty of women with eating disorders and very low bmi but the babies always seem to do ok. Think Helen would have to be literally starving herself for there to be an effect on the baby. What we really need is for her to see her midwife without Nob there!

redshoeblueshoe · 29/01/2016 21:59

dinster - I thought that was the calm before the storm. So is Daveed going to SOHMC

ColdTeaAgain · 29/01/2016 21:59

She would be booked in for extra growth scans because of the pre eclampsia she had with Henry.

redshoeblueshoe · 29/01/2016 22:05

Coldtea thank-you, of course that makes sense

ColdTeaAgain · 29/01/2016 22:07

You're welcome and congrats on your granddaughter, I bet you can't wait!

bigbuttons · 29/01/2016 22:07

I literally cannot stand to listen to it anymoreSad

PseudoBadger · 29/01/2016 22:14

Rob is calling the midwife of his own accord, surely that would set the midwife wondering?

OP posts:
R4 · 29/01/2016 22:31

Did Rob call the MW? I assumed that he made that bit up.

Rob is so dull, isn't he. I was thinking the other day of all the conversations you have throughout the day with family, friends, colleagues - there is always joshing and silliness. Rob is physically incapable of banter.
They must feel all happiness drain out of them, all colour leech from the world when his shadow appears in the doorway.

SuffolkNWhat · 29/01/2016 22:32

You would hope it would flag something up Pseudo

ColdTeaAgain · 29/01/2016 22:43

Everyone seems to sense things aren't quite right except Patbot. Surely it would take more than your daughters husband saying "she's fine" if you are genuinely worried about her.

Yes I was assuming he made up the black pudding nonsense although could just as easier be another scripting blunder!

PseudoBadger · 29/01/2016 22:54

Rob is like a Dementor. Robmentor.

And Tony, who seems to have disappeared off the face of the earth.
YY to 'Dementor'.

choccyp1g · 29/01/2016 23:15

BOOP for Jenny calling in on Helen. It seems in character for her, unlike everyone else with their brain transplants.
Surely black pudding is excellent for pregnant women; being made of blood, it will be high in iron.

EBearhug · 29/01/2016 23:20

So is Daveed going to SOHMC

A couple of weeks ago (when Ruth was first back from NZ), I wondered if her breast cancer would be making a reappearance.

ColdTeaAgain · 29/01/2016 23:35

Ha yes where is Tony? Is getting silly now Grin

EBearhug · 29/01/2016 23:36

[http://www.foodnutritiontable.com/nutritions/nutrient/?id=136 Black pudding nutritional content]

You're meant to avoid liver pate because of the high Vit A content, (which in excess can lead to birth defects, according to google,) but liver pate is not blood sausage, and I think you'd probably need to eat quite a lot of black pudding for it to be a problem.

I've never had the impression that Rob would be too worried about the facts if they got in the way of whatever path he was currently on, though.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 29/01/2016 23:36

Is Hellin not getting regular blood tests? Surely she'd be anaemic by now.

Maybe the reason why everyone thinks Rob is great is because he has taken Hellin off their hands. She was, after all, a total pain before and then she seemed happy. If it suits people then it may not occur to them to think to deeply about it.

But I am sick of people saying 'he looks after you so well'. Compared to what exactly??

EBearhug · 29/01/2016 23:39

Let's try again...
Black pudding nutritional content

enochroot · 30/01/2016 00:28

Has he really checked with the MW if black pudding is OK.No he hasn't. He's lying.

Kirsty has talked to Pat. Jennifer has talked to Pat.
Pat believes Rob.

But..... Pat did try to talk to Helen. H told her to back off.

chillipopcorn1 · 30/01/2016 01:24

Long time lurker here (and overseas so I have to wait until the morning after to catch up on the podcast!). But I felt I had to write in after yesterday's episode ConfusedAngry I actually shouted at my phone when Rob said 'look at the size of you' - he's so VILE!!! And as IF Pat would buy him saying 'it's fine, I've spoke to Hellin and she said she's not anorexic so phew!'
Is so confusing though. As pp have said- does he not care about 'his' Envy precious boy being starved?! What's his motive? And WHEN will people wake up - has no one noticed Hellin's a) not left the house for the past four months and b) is inappropriately dressed for her stage of pregnancy? Gah! It needs to end soon. This isn't good for my blood pressure. At all!

chillipopcorn1 · 30/01/2016 01:25

Enochroot - do you not think that Hellin telling Pat to back off would have rung alarm bells for Pat? Surely if your daughter had had an ED you'd be mega attuned to her moods?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 30/01/2016 08:30

I think as somebody (probably several people) said either in this thread or the last one (sorry, can't remember who) there is no long-term plan with Rob - he is just consumed with the need to have somebody right under his thumb, and he isn't that bright, so the possible consequences for the baby have perhaps not really sunk in yet. When they do, he will be standing over her forcing her to eat and shouting at her when she struggles.

SuffolkNWhat · 30/01/2016 08:33

I'm hoping the Henwee will let slip to Patbot that Mummeee isn't eating anything anymore

JessieMcJessie · 30/01/2016 08:36

I'm pretty sure that black pudding is fine in pregnancy. I found an Irish health site that actually recommends adding it to a fried breakfast for extra iron (and no it's not from 1955!). However in the interest of "what would a midwife say" research I will ask when I go for my appointment on Tuesday Smile. I draw the line at pretending to be anorexic though...

I was very very surprised at Jenny saying she wouldn't eat it- I'd have thought that people who love game would usually also love all that sort of stuff. In fact am generally surprised at lack of universal love for it, but then I am from Scotland and it's pretty common there. (We are peasants of course).

I don't think Rob asked the midwife, and if it was a simple "can't eat in pregnancy" thing Helen would just have said so, no need for dramatics. It was chilling the way he came up with that detailed explanation to Pat about anxiety over pre-eclampsia.
