OH ROB YOU ARSE

Gruach · 29/01/2016 19:18

Hmm Pat has given birth to three children and has one grandchild. Rob has had none and isn't a health professional. Why would she take his advice?

Gruach · 29/01/2016 19:19

Two grandchildren!

Stickerrocks · 29/01/2016 19:21

Which planet is she living on if she hasn't spotted the absence of Kirsty & Ian. Kirsty, come back and spell it out to Pat in words of 1 syllable please.

Shallishanti · 29/01/2016 19:32

(who do we think the text was from? won't know till sunday now)

Travelledtheworld · 29/01/2016 19:35

Text from Kirsty I reckon.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 29/01/2016 19:35

Kirsty is my bet for the text.

Oh god, that was awful. Does he want her to starve their baby of nutrients? If he carries on with this approach that is what will happen. But if he does start monitoring her food intake, I'm not sure if I can stand having him stand over her at every mealtime watching while she chokes down a few mouthfuls.

Travelledtheworld · 29/01/2016 19:37

" that's MY baby your carrying , not theirs" .....Ooooh nasty, possessive man.
Is he going to deny access to Pat, Tony and Jennifer when they come to visit the new ( spawn) baby?

Scarydinosaurs · 29/01/2016 19:37

Fucking buggering bollocks!

AS IF Jenny would have forgotten about the culvert! AS IF no one would notice that Ian hasn't been speaking to her.

I am infuriated and sick of the continued nonsense. They would be talking about it. Join. The. Dots.

Her reaction to being asked to taste it was so OTT. Pat would never ever just let that go- compare it to her insistence that Helen looked after herself during her first pregnancy! RIDICULOUS!

Scarydinosaurs · 29/01/2016 19:38

"Look at the size of you"

Oh Rob, you PRICK.

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 29/01/2016 19:40

Surely it's going to escalate quite quickly now. I'm now imagining Rob being very controlling about the family having access to "My Son"....

Stickerrocks · 29/01/2016 19:43

Rob would find lots of friends on the AIBU threads here about interfering ILs though. The usual MN line on those seems to be that only the DH & DC are family and parents lose all right to question anything the moment their offspring move in with anyone else.

R4 · 29/01/2016 19:51

Is it interfering, though? Ambridge probably invented the phrase "it takes a village to raise a child". yes, I know it's African.

It arrived today BOOP Flowers

campion · 29/01/2016 19:56

Good point stickerrocks. You can't have it both ways.

But how long is it now since Pat became a complete imbecile?

BertrandRussell · 29/01/2016 19:59

Rob would fit right in on Mumsnet! A proper mylittlefamilyite.

Stickerrocks · 29/01/2016 20:25

Especially as he's become so close to Henry and treats him just like his own. Perhaps he'll start feeding Helen naice ham, just as long as it's not from one of Tom's pigs.

enochroot · 29/01/2016 20:47

Too much vitamin A?

Is the baby getting any vitamins at all?

Scarydinosaurs · 29/01/2016 20:49

Black pudding is 100% fine for pregnant women. I wonder if rob will get caught out in his lie about the midwife?

BertrandRussell · 29/01/2016 20:55

That "look at that size of you" was awful!

And still no mention of payday...........

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 29/01/2016 21:00

I suspect Helen is mainlining multivitamins and telling herself that makes everything all right. Sad

WipsGlitter · 29/01/2016 21:14

I think the concept of "payday" when you're checking your balance to see its gone in is beyond these two. They just know there's always money in their account. So I think Helen will go to pay for something with her old / own account and her card will be declined.

SmallLegsOrSmallEggs · 29/01/2016 21:17

Scan next week though. That will be telling.

Stickerrocks · 29/01/2016 21:20

Still WipsGlitter she will find the refund on the revealing maternity tops will come in handy. I wonder if Helen has ever considered why Rob doesn't have a single friend and doesn't get invited out for a drink with Tom & co.

MeolsCop · 29/01/2016 21:39

Even Dh - not an Archers fan by any stretch of the imagination - remarked the other day 'how come they all talk to each other about other people in the village but NOBODY TALKS ABOUT ROB??'

Re. Knob...why does everyone seem to think he's so wonderful? Are they not hearing how surly, bitter and downright vile he is? He has zero humour, he remarks disparagingly about everybody else, and is a complete joy-sucker. Every remark that comes out of his mouth is negative. Yet somehow he has the entire village simpering about how 'charming' he is. Eh???

dinster · 29/01/2016 21:47

The writing is so clunky. Why must we have it spelled out that David and Ruth have a loving, working partnership in contrast with... um... er... which couple might that be? Why do they think a sledgehammer is necessary?
