You do realise, Gruach, that this thread is now going to be hijacked by me saddoes trying to guess who your neighbour might have been? Can we establish some basics - age, height, build, colouring, ethnicity, accent please.

Re Brian - wasn't he outmanoeuvred in some way I can't really remember and resigned in high dudgeon?

Gruach · 28/01/2016 19:38

Tall-ish, 30s, fair wavy hair and a beard. North London geezer accent. Seemed charming and friendly. I only sat next to him because, seats being unreserved, I was too late to sit at the front, toe to toe with my on-stage crush; so instead rushed to the back. Obviously if I'd known he was famous I would have settled for a seat at the side with a nice view of the grandfather clock.

Is there a film or TV show of two words, first word beginning with S ...?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 28/01/2016 19:41

Was it Simon Pegg?

... because if it was it might have been Star Trek.

FinestGrundyTurkey · 28/01/2016 19:44

Whoever it was will probably be revealed in a blog post or something in due course Smile

PseudoBadger · 28/01/2016 19:47

Where does Pip get "being a little joker" from?

Didn't Annabel later admit it had been a fait accompli? All the board members had conspired to allow Justin to acquire a majority share - behind Brian's back. (Did he resign at that point?) And it was clear Justin was backing Annabel so the rest of the board voted accordingly.

IIRC ...

No - I'd recognize himGrin

Does Justin really think that he can become 'part of the community' by being a down-from-London-for-the-weekend?
Doesn't he know that Ambridge doesn't actually exist on a Saturday, anyway.Grin

I nodded off during John Finnemore then woke up to him playing Justin in an Archers sketch. Listened for several minutes, it was strangely unfunny. Dawning realisation that I was, in fact, listening to TA and that Justin sounds exactly like John Finnemore. In fact, Justin SURELY MUST BE John Finnemore.

My world was very confused for a few minutes.

GypsyFl0ss · 28/01/2016 20:46

Stuff tonight's episode...I'm so much more interested in who this star is!

Lancelottie · 28/01/2016 21:12

S...

Silent Witness?
Mind you, sounds like he wasn't dead.

Gruach · 28/01/2016 21:17

I promise if I remember the name of the TV show or see a photo of said star at I will share ...

spiker · 28/01/2016 21:22

Songs of Praise? Shameless? Stars in their Eyes?

Sorry!? (this is re-running on BBC4 at the moment and I'm relieved to have engineered been presented with the opportunity to express my bemusement at this scheduling).

Matthew can't be a long term role as he is such a terrible actor

That didn't stop them casting a terrible actress in a long term role as Pip.

BYOSnowman · 28/01/2016 23:13

True! But you would think they would have realised they can't put two bad actors together like that!

Dumdedumdedum · 29/01/2016 06:13

Oh, BYOSnowman, your faith in the intelligence and integrity of those involved is truly touching Wink

Stickerrocks · 29/01/2016 08:36

Synergy. One bad Pip plus one bad Matthew could make triplets. Now that would be a storyline to trump the Son of Knob.

Personally I don't find Matthew nearly as annoying as either of the Fairbrethren.
