Deluged damp squid or not? And has Peggy been assisted off the mortal coil by Rob yet?
And when will JD and Brian remember Debbie?

I've just invited the OP of this thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/_chat/2332903-Ive-been-listening-to-the-Archers-for-months-and-I-still-have-no-idea-what-is-going-on? to join us.

She is after explanations of all things Archer-relatrd Grin

EBearhug · 16/03/2015 15:06

Today's weather has made me think they're just ahead of things in Ambridge.

They won't get compensation for the road when Route B is canned, but will they get any flood compensation?

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 16/03/2015 16:03

Me too, ppeat Grin - we must be nearly twins!

My mum was a Mrs Dale fan though so we didn't hear Grace's dramatic end (& we didn't even have a telly at that point so ITV didn't matter to us)

What sort of wireless did you have? I think we mainly had a huge radiogram in the hall - I can remember a big tabletop one, with all the foreign stations on, but that might just have been at my nana's.

ZeroFunDame · 16/03/2015 16:09

Isn't radiogram a beautiful word? (And how proud were my parents of theirs?)

Oh - on the subject of Bert and Freda whatever became of their son Trevor?

enochroot · 16/03/2015 17:47

Big wooden wirelesses! Ours had a sailing ship carved out at the front.
My brother and I had our own up in the attic where we played, along with a wind-up gramophone and old 78 rpm records.
Parents had a radiogram downstairs with Russ Conway LPs but we were happy with our cast-offs!

trevortrevorslatterfry · 16/03/2015 17:48

zero I didn't know they even had a son but now I do, I've changed my name in his honour

Grin
ppeatfruit · 16/03/2015 17:56

My mum was Mrs Dale fan too TheOneWith Grin She was always worrying about Jim AFAICR ! We didn't have a TV either Grin It was some sort of inverted snobbery of dad's he was weird! But they always discussed the 'news'.

I can't remember our radio, probably one of those small Bakelite affairs. I do remember that as soon as DM chucked dad out we got a COLOUR TELLY!!!!! Yay!!!

Breadandginger · 16/03/2015 18:31

Hi, delurking again. Is it Fallon doing the voiceover for the Lloyds advert on the telly? Apparently they send random gifts to customers just for banking with them. Sounds an awful lot like her.

Ooh Kenton this should be interesting.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 16/03/2015 19:10

I guess the Freda news may soften the blow of losing all that money

minkGrundy · 16/03/2015 19:12

I felt quite sorry for Kenton hearing the news about Freda.

minkGrundy · 16/03/2015 19:14

Well he took that well

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 16/03/2015 19:16

Yikes - angry Kenton

northender · 16/03/2015 19:17

He's not happy.....

GypsyFloss · 16/03/2015 19:17

Shouty Kenton. Excellent. Loved the CA's comment too.

Bert on the other hand needs to shush now. Please, please spare us the poem.

enochroot · 16/03/2015 19:18

David really should have phoned him.

Seriouslyffs · 16/03/2015 19:18

Shock and Grin @Kenton's reaction! He's always been a greedy, feckless bugger so no surprise there!

GypsyFloss · 16/03/2015 19:19

Absolutely Enochroot . What a cockup that was.

Thesuperswimmingdolphin · 16/03/2015 19:26

David really should have punched him!

It's not his fault his brother has spent money he didn't have.

TopazRocks · 16/03/2015 19:27

Shouty Kenton just sounded like an actor trying to sound angry, no? But David should have called him with the news when he told the sisters. Kenton blaming David for all of it? well, apart from not telling him asap it isn't his fault.

Jolene and K did sound sad about Freda. Has the son had a mention yet?

And who is giving shelter to Jazzer? I missed that bit, it seems.

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 16/03/2015 19:31

Yes, Trevor is going to do a reading at the funeral.

I missed where Jazzer was too.

I thought Kenton's anger was horribly convincing, but that's probably because I hate people shouting at each other. But yes, David should have rung Kenton and told him while they were away. It would have ruined the holiday but not as badly as leaving it till now.

What did the CA say? I missed it.

ZeroFunDame · 16/03/2015 19:31

Think I'm now a little tired of David always being in trouble with at least one member of his family. Poor man should be seeking a position as a hermit.

Bert mentioned his son! Said he wanted him to give a reading?

Gasp0deTheW0nderD0g · 16/03/2015 19:34

PS On no account should we be spared the poem. Bert's poetry is wonderful, almost as good as mine.

Roses are red, violets are blue
Moi Freda was partic'larly good at stew
Her pies were a legend
Her photos were rare
I'll miss her forever
We made a good pair
