Will Peggy make it to the end of this thread?

Good theory choccy.
I'm going to keep it in mind

CuttedUpPear · 01/03/2015 15:29

Jim is on the afternoon play AGAIN!
I do enjoy hearing him all over the place.

ZeroFunDame · 01/03/2015 15:36

Oh - is he Marta's father?

BitOutOfPractice · 01/03/2015 16:00

Oh hello! Fancy meeting you lot here!

Just wanted to address the issue of Ruth calling her mother mum not mam. Judging by the amount of vitriol I've met on MN when I call my mother "mom", I don't bloody blame her! I am from the West Midlands and everone calls their mother "mom" there but I have had so many sneery comments on here about Americanisation (or should that be Americanization?) that I can understand why she might change to mum to suit other people's sensibilities

I think Hayley would say "mom" though, being a Brummy. As would Usher.

PetulaGordino · 01/03/2015 16:06

ah i knew that about "mom" in the west midlands - you are right that we should hear it more on TA. fair enough if ruth might feel like that (or it might be her mother's preference), it just sounds different to when i think about my friends in the NE talking about their mothers

BitOutOfPractice · 01/03/2015 16:08

I agree Petula but I suspect that there is a strong SE / south bias in TA listenership.

Perhaps we should do a map? If only dadx3 were't being all Shula-like about Lent!

toldmywrath · 01/03/2015 16:41

Thanks for the new thread-the title is fab. I've copied my comment from last thread (posted there by mistake):
So the Great North Runaway has been scuppered. No wonder woor Rooth is feeling fair scunnered with Daveed.

ErrolTheDragon · 01/03/2015 17:23

I'm in the NW so we're not all southern

BitOutOfPractice · 01/03/2015 17:27

I didn't say we all were but I suspect a strong Home Counties bias!

CuttedUpPear · 01/03/2015 17:27

I agree BOOP. My mum is mom, although I am mum to my DCs because they grew up 60 miles from Brum.

BoreOfWhabylon · 01/03/2015 17:37

Hurrah! A lovely new thread with Grin title!

I am very much liking Choccyp1g's theory too.

Now, re Piggoi's hair: it is permed every couple of months and then roller set every week, teased out every day and cemented in place with industrial quantities of Elnett. She probably goes to the beauty salon in Underwood's for her weekly shampoo and set. What she and Ambridge desperately need is a mobile hairdresser. Surprised Emma hasn't taken advantage of the gap in the market. Could be a nice little earner; she could do those gel nails too.

Also think Ruuuth will come to grief on the road north but will escape relatively unscathed - unless SOC signed up the helicopter medics after Tony got Otto-ed.

CuttedUpPear · 01/03/2015 18:02

Could the Grauniad possibly be talking about us? Blush

BoreOfWhabylon · 01/03/2015 18:30

Sounds more like the writer is one of us, CUP!

CuttedUpPear · 01/03/2015 18:48

Spoiler for tonight:
"David has his hands full. Ruth is implacable".

I think a spoiler 15 minutes ahead should be acceptable...

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 01/03/2015 19:03

Proo - doh? I thought it was prudder?

nauticant · 01/03/2015 19:03

Ruth's off to Proo-doe

Tut tut Mr Continuity Man.

nauticant · 01/03/2015 19:07

It's raining again!

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 01/03/2015 19:07

Bad weather again. Totally ominous.

Wtf was that scene between David and Jill outside the bathroom. Weirdy weird thing to do.

And how long have Ruth and David been married that she is suddenly having a stropfest about not having family around her?

Not liking the dil/mil fallout we are going to have. Although a week without slave Jill and Ruth will be begging her to come back.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 01/03/2015 19:08

If beech copse floods we know its the apocalypse

Bea · 01/03/2015 19:08

It's raining again!!

ZeroFunDame · 01/03/2015 19:08

But still - how excruciating to have your DH and DMIL gathered outside the bathroom door whispering about you.

nauticant · 01/03/2015 19:09

Oh look says David to Adam It's a Deus Ex Machina.

enochroot · 01/03/2015 19:11

Did Pip say 'erotic milking'?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 01/03/2015 19:15

Pip is sooooo annoying. And what's with her voice.

I've decided there is a foreigner involved in writing the scripts. Foreigners think we English only talk about the weather and the archers seem to be proving their point....

They don't know Kenton very well. He's blatantly spending money on swanky hotels and restaurants and buying me riel expensive gifts!! He needs to know!!!

So hands up if you've got a storm? We had some thunder earlier and some rain.

Lots of signposting of Ruth having an accident. Will Ben be hurt? I hope not because this seems to be a stock SL - big family fallout - fixed by a near fatal accident pulling them all together.

CuttedUpPear · 01/03/2015 19:15

What was the last thing Pip said?
The thing they rushed off to look at?
