Rejoice, for the Dopeys are staying in Ambridge to feast on Oedipal flapjacks. Or at least David is. Discuss The Archers here.

Will Peggy make it to the end of this thread?

OP posts:

Just seen a link to this on Twitter. TripAdvisor reviews of Grey Gables Grin

Iwantacampervan · 11/03/2015 12:34

Debbie's just been on This Morning!

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 11/03/2015 12:45

Brilliant, Mimsy: "However, the really troubling thing happened when I left. I KNOW I only stayed one night - but when I left the village the hotel is in I found a week had gone by in my absence. I'm competely at a loss for how to explain this!"

BoreOfWhabylon · 11/03/2015 12:57

Aprés le deluge: SOC has SoakedATTC but was it a damp squid or Prawn of the Dead? You decide!

ErrolTheDragon · 11/03/2015 12:57

Where's Debbie? Busily cramming for her final year drama school exams I assume.

Robert was at GG last we heard. It will be very annoying if this thread ends and the answer to the question in the OP re Peggy is 'no idea, the SWs have forgotten about her'. Hopefully she's safe at home - she's of the generation who keeps plenty of tinned food in stock in case of emergencies. Even more hopefully, Scruff has fetched up with her and is sharing catfood and tinned salmon.

Trés amusant indeed, but a little too quiche, I fear, if we want to attract newbies to these threads.

I will be ridiculously proud of myself if Soaked Ambridge To The Core gets in Blush

Bluestocking · 11/03/2015 13:20

I like Bore's title. Soaking ATTC is very neat. Who knows, Piggoi and Scruff may still be MIA by the time we need a new thread.

I find the Adam/ Charlie thing quite convincing. Adam has always struck me as a rather emotionally incontinent man, of the kind who would mistake sexual attraction for The Real Thing, and the oxytocin buzz of saving Charlie's life will have made it feel all the more real.

ErrolTheDragon · 11/03/2015 13:25

I like Bore's title too, though it should have either 'Ambridge' or 'Archers' in it somewhere. The peggy/scruff thing could be used in the body of the OP.

ZeroFunDame · 11/03/2015 13:46

'Nother vote for BOW's title. Maybe Ambridge - après le déluge etc?

Though tbh I think TA is too complicated right now to attract new listeners or posters. Whatever the BBC thinks.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 11/03/2015 14:26

I agree about getting Archers or Ambridge somewhere in there. Zero's suggestion is good (as ever!).

Icimoi · 11/03/2015 14:48

Another one in favour of Ambridge soaked to the core as a thread title.

TeenyfTroon · 11/03/2015 14:51

Another vote for the BOW title with Zero's Ambridge at the front.
I'm still LA to the film (while cleaning the bathroom - far too much water everywhere!) and I so hope Scruff turns up. I have every sympathy for Lynda's wailing. I did exactly the same when I lost my rabbit in a storm.

ZeroFunDame · 11/03/2015 14:57

Unless of course BOW meant "Soak Ambridge To The Core" to be written in full - in which case Ambridge wouldnt be needed at the beginning.

This is where my life has led me - what can I do?

CuttedUpPear · 11/03/2015 15:06

I've been away. For eight days.
Have I missed anything?

Last I heard there was a lot of rain, and floodwater getting into the cellar at the Bull.

Enlighten me as to what other ridiculousness has been taking place please. ...

ErrolTheDragon · 11/03/2015 15:20

You're in luck, CUP - you've only missed a couple of days in Ambridge time! Grin

Lots of houses (and the Bull) have been flooded. You'll work out who and where they are temporarily accommodated as you go, so be prepared to find people in unexpected places. The question worrying us most at the moment is whether Scruff is OK (missing presumed drownded at the moment).

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 11/03/2015 16:07

Handy guide to who was where during the flooding.

trevortrevorslattery · 11/03/2015 16:12

Ooh Cold Comfort Farm is only £1.40 for the Kindle at the moment!

Minimammoth · 11/03/2015 16:35

I am a bit confused by the whole Charlie- Adam thing. For one I can't always distinguish their voices. And it's all a bit 'will she, won't she'. Charlie has A on a bit of string, methinks, and I still think he's Bi.
SATTC in full, in the next Fred title.

ppeatfruit · 11/03/2015 16:38

I agree with a PP about Adam he's sexually incontinent. Like his stepfather was. Grin

enochroot · 11/03/2015 16:52

I see Phoebe is listed as Phoebe Aldridge on the who's where thing. Does she go by that name?

Vicky, Mike and Bethany haven't been mentioned at all.

Davros · 11/03/2015 17:02

I've noticed that she's always Aldridge and should, in theory, be Tucker

TopazRocks · 11/03/2015 17:04

Yeah, I can't be fashed with Adam these days though I care about Ian's happiness which is of course bound up with the former's activities. 'sexually incontinent' sums him up, I agree. And why couldn't Adam have suggested Ed Grundy for the contracting work? Esp. with the new possible 'entente' and Charlie being laid up, he might have been more amenable.

TopazRocks · 11/03/2015 17:07

Pretty sure she is always 'Phoebe Tucker'. We ought to ask Joe Grundy. Smile

trevortrevorslattery · 11/03/2015 17:17

Topaz "Can't be fashed" Smile I haven't heard that for ages!

ErrolTheDragon · 11/03/2015 17:17

She's Aldridge on the official whos who page (don't look if you prefer not to see photos)
