Rejoice, for the Dopeys are staying in Ambridge to feast on Oedipal flapjacks. Or at least David is. Discuss The Archers here.

Will Peggy make it to the end of this thread?

WhatWouldFreddieDo · 06/03/2015 20:18

eurggfhhh, missed it, DH was talking to me Confused

Is no one dead then?? No Peggy lashed to her desk, quill in hand and unsigned will, floating past the Bull??

HaveYouTriedARewardChart · 06/03/2015 20:20

De lurking to say this made me smile.....

"This is our home and always shall be!"

"Moo"

Dumdedumdedum......

GypsyFloss · 06/03/2015 20:29

Icimoi that's exactly what I thought!

So...will Ruth return thrilled that everyone is ok and ready to resume farming at the newly soggy Brookfield? Or will she, as nicely pointed out upthread, by an outsider now and pack her bags for Prudder?

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 06/03/2015 20:44

It was Sunday morning today. The emergency services finally arrived at 10am according to the updated timeline.

Lonely Cow's been in action again.

Pipbin · 06/03/2015 20:49

How was it Sunday? Will it still be Sunday on Sunday? Then will it be last Sunday or this Sunday? What if we are always a week out?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 06/03/2015 20:52

So a flood is exciting. The aftermath is not. It's long and tedious and will involve people moving in with others as there whole house needs fixing. Carols carpet may be soggy but the electrics will be the real problem. Then there's finding builders, getting insurance etc.

I just don't think soc can do mundane so fear the aftermath will be forgotten and we will be into the next big story before anyone can wrong the hand towels out.

BrightBlowsTheBroom · 06/03/2015 21:00

Presumably this Sunday for us is last Sunday for them but the lost week will be forgotten by the time we get to Easter.

What the hell is Adam thinking ?

Bluestocking · 06/03/2015 21:06

Reconciled fathers and daughters: Roy and Phoebe, David and Pip.

I'm still holding out for Scruff swimming up the Am, towing an armchair in which Piggoi is sitting bolt upright, clutching her pussy with one hand and her rewritten will with the other.

Pollybun · 06/03/2015 21:06

I was in the bath listening to tonight's epi - too wet and slippery to grab my tablet and respond immediately in outrage and disgust - David calling Pip PIPSQUEAK! That was how Pip's slimy ex used to address her & I remember David's snort of derision at that! Another re-write of Archer's history!

Bluestocking · 06/03/2015 21:13

I'm sure David and Ruth used to call Pip Pipsqueak when she was a tiny tot? I don't think it was Slimy Ex's nickname for her.

Lilymaid · 06/03/2015 21:17

Bluestocking is right. Pipsqueak was David's pet name for Pip when she was younger.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 06/03/2015 21:19

They've got to catch us up somehow so they celebrate Mothering Sunday, Easter, Mayday etc etc at the right time. I think we'll skip a few days now.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 06/03/2015 21:26

I think we will just lose a week so the Sunday they had woken up to is the 8th and the week before has just disappeared up soc's arse

What happened to Shulas horses?

Lynda is a normal flawed human being. She can be lovely and kind, she can lose the plot (worrying about her uniform), and she can be self absorbed.

She's a great character because she is multi-dimensional, and most communities have someone everyone moans about - but who is still useful. The nosy neighbour who is the first to spot there is something wrong - and call in the police (for a burglary or possibly an ill neighbour).

Travelledtheworld · 06/03/2015 21:59

As a lifelong listener, almost 50 years....I can honestly say what a load of Melodramatic tosh...Sad.

LillianGish · 06/03/2015 22:26

Just waiting for the Ambridge flood fairy to flutter over and set the village to rights in super quick time (and make time go forwards so we are back on track!)

Hakluyt · 06/03/2015 22:31

David used to call Pip Pipsqueak when she was little. If the ghastly ex used it, David would have been snorting with outrage at him appropriating his pet name.

Hakluyt · 06/03/2015 22:33

Yes, everyone will be back to normal in a week or so- all dried out and not smelling of sewage

ErrolTheDragon · 06/03/2015 22:37

I hope that the sad demise of the poor sheep and lambs has shaken Adam out of his impending Charlie infatuation.

choccyp1g · 06/03/2015 22:41

I think the ghastly ex (Jude) called her Flip.

Looking at the map I notice that Brookfield is already split into bits by the river and the roads, so the whole argument about it not being viable was nonsense.

songbird · 06/03/2015 22:42

Loving the SoakATTC love! Not often I pip you lot to the pun post! (Ooh that was pleasing!)

I can't claim this as my own, I saw it on Twitter or Facebook or summat:
Kiss of life for Charlie
Kiss of death for Ian

Boom!

Oh and I actually WTFed at the radio when pip said she'd never wanted to leave! If she'd added 'deep down' you could just about believe it. Much as I loathe pip I love how she coped (admittedly better after Tom had arrived) and came up with the solution and did the job when tom injured himself. I hope they make her less annoying (voice/accent notwithstanding!) as she could be a great female character. I think Ruth's going to do one, and David and pip will run the farm.

Bluestocking · 06/03/2015 23:01

Soaking Ambridge To The Core is genius - can it go in the next thread title, Pseudo?

Pip's e-pip-hany about never wanting to leave is understandable, I think - she is very young and just got carried away with the idea of starting again on a blank sheet, with large wads of cash to spend on robomilkers and top-of-the-range tractors.

Pity Lizzie's revelation about the importance of Family didn't reveal itself to her before she shagged a married employee with children.

enochroot · 06/03/2015 23:04

If we reach the end of this thread with Scruff, Peggy and pussy still unaccounted for then this from Bluestocking is perfect thread title material.

I'm still holding out for Scruff swimming up the Am, towing an armchair in which Piggoi is sitting bolt upright, clutching her pussy with one hand and her rewritten will with the other.

I think we'll get Mothering Sunday and a lot of aftermath conversations on Sunday night.

Isn't Mothers' Day next weekend?
