Rejoice, for the Dopeys are staying in Ambridge to feast on Oedipal flapjacks. Or at least David is. Discuss The Archers here.

Will Peggy make it to the end of this thread?

OP posts:
GypsyFloss · 05/03/2015 21:53

I think Peggy and her well washed pussy will be found dead from sitting down.

stilllearnin · 05/03/2015 22:36

PC plot got to say that Robs an arse though.Grin

guineapiglet · 05/03/2015 22:40

Peggy is probably spending time at Home Farm, as JD, Brine, Kate and Lil haven't been mentioned either!
All having a girly time together.

Hard to believe but the floods this time last year had students near us attending lectures on kayaks, the roads were impassable so they all improvs listed when the river burst it's banks.

It has been a dramatic week, I've listened but found it slightly OTT but an interesting change from the norm.. Hoping Pat and co at Bridge Farm are safe too. Robert? Where's he? And Jim? Someone had better to the Ambridge roll call on Sunday, or Ruth and Ben will be starring in 'the returned' next week!!
< now that was a good programme, sock>

Tom wouldn't have left bridge farm if that was in danger. Poor Lynda , I thought that was quite clever having her crack up and rant at Dave who then also breaks down

Sorry just got an iPod now I see how double posts happen

stilllearnin · 05/03/2015 23:30

It's been a bit hectic in my house. Are Adam and Charlie still out there then? That's quite frightening really. Did they have transport? I can't remember how they got to where they are. My dp is ill and I am v anxious- TA is not helping but I am addicted to the habit of a 7.03 check in regardless of whether I want to listen or not!

Icimoi · 05/03/2015 23:44

This endless Saturday night is beginning to feel like we're trapped in Groundhog Day.

I fear Knob is going to claim Brownie points for getting injured saving Shula's life and try to guilt-trip her into keeping quiet about the hunt sab.

stilllearnin · 06/03/2015 06:09

I am not sure whether that will make Shula more determined though as she might be able to spot the manipulation. She's pretty stubborn when she's doing her Christian Duty.

I wonder if groundhog day will work better as the film (I really must stop saying these things out loud)

LillianGish · 06/03/2015 06:31

Hope your dp is ok stillearnin. I think I'll probably listen to the film this week to hear how it sounds when it is all joined together. It really will feel like a feature length episode listened to like that though I must say I haven't been finding it difficult to follow. I'm just wondering how they are going to bridge the gap and catch up at the end of the week/start of next week.
Hearing Roy and Phoebe's joyful reunion I'm wondering if this will be what prompts her to move back. No mention of Kate.

minkGrundy · 06/03/2015 07:59

Trying to remember how they caught up last time. I suspect someone will say something like "well that was quite a week" Hmm

And when will we hear from Ruth??

Minimammoth · 06/03/2015 08:07

Kate will have rigged up a small raft, and has floated down the Am, she's in the Bristol Channel and is now on her way to Africa. < dusts hands>.

ErrolTheDragon · 06/03/2015 08:17

I like that in the 'who's where' list, Joe's ferrets come before George, and Holly the dog before Keira. Grin

Bluestocking · 06/03/2015 08:44

I'm sure it'll work better as a feature length film on Sunday. I liked the Charlie underwater moment - it explained what had happened without Adam having to exclaim "he's fallen in the water!" like Bluebottle.

I did not appreciate PC Plot sentimentally imagining Fallon surrounded by little subPlots. Bleurgh.

ZeroFunDame · 06/03/2015 08:47

mink As we're already into "Timeline-Sunday" (and will presumably still be there in tonight's episode) I imagine Sunday night's episode will simply be a continuation of the Ambridge Sunday.

So the time covered in this week's episodes will only be one weekend. Ambridge won't be aware of having "lost" a week.

trevortrevorslattery · 06/03/2015 09:12

"he's fallen in the water!" Grin that was an opportunity missed by the SW!

trevortrevorslattery · 06/03/2015 09:13

Ah haha to "subplots" too. I love this thread!

I am backing Scruff to come swimming up the drive with Piggoi's re-written will in his mouth

MyFeatheryHat · 06/03/2015 09:45

I predict that David will die

ppeatfruit · 06/03/2015 09:50

Note that Linda is sooo worried about Scruff but hasn't mentioned her darling husband who was last heard of rescuing the llamas. Where's Robert?????

They needed someone taking a register at GG. (can you tell I was a teacher Grin?)

ZeroFunDame · 06/03/2015 09:50
Shock
ZeroFunDame · 06/03/2015 09:51

(To FeatheryHat)

LillianGish · 06/03/2015 10:12

They can't just lose a week in the Archers though because they are so tied in to marking everything in real time. So Kenton's holiday will have to last as long as it is meant to last and if he's coming back for Easter then Easter will have to be at Easter (iyswim).
I don't think David will die (anymore than I thought Brookfield would be sold). Curious that no one has mentioned Peggy, but then if she was a potential candidate I think it would be being signposted much more clearly (also I slightly suspect they won't kill off Peggy until the actress herself dies). I'm thinking Scruff is the most likely victim.

enochroot · 06/03/2015 10:14

David went into Henry V mode last night, I thought.

Upon the king! let us our lives, our souls,
Our debts, our careful wives,
Our children and our sins lay on the king!
We must bear all.

(Though Charlie went into the breach!)

enochroot · 06/03/2015 10:43

TA missed out on last year's floods, other than D&R looking after some sheep, but SOC was new then so I think this week's events have been a year in the making. He would say he wanted to do justice to the enormity of flooding but it does give him the perfect opportunity to really SATTC.
There are going to be people who can't move back into their homes and will have to have temporary accommodation, perhaps outside the village. They might not come back. Others might decide they want to live somewhere else anyway.
David has been placed firmly at the centre of village life while Ruth hasn't shared the experience of the rest of the village and is placed in the position of an outsider.
How people behaved during the flood will define them forever and justify the personality changes we've been complaining of.

ragged · 06/03/2015 10:55

I quite like the multi-episodes for one day, it's creative.
