As tribute to the best SL at the moment...

OP posts:
ZeroFunDame · 05/02/2015 11:09

Wasn't it his brother? Who gets to run things on their farm. (Have I misremembered?)

ZeroFunDame · 05/02/2015 11:31

Another point to Charlie, (beyond general perturbation of Adam) following last night's "revelation" (which we'd already guessed) is that the SWs can keep us guessing for a good deal longer as he interviews candidates for the rôle of "The One".

So the Pip is back in play.

TheSilveryPussycat · 05/02/2015 11:40

Did Charlie order cows? I remember some inorganic potatoes or some sort of feed. But must have missed the cows?

TheSilveryPussycat · 05/02/2015 11:41

Rob not Charlie!

trevortrevorslattery · 05/02/2015 11:48

grand theft otto Grin brilliant!

R4 · 05/02/2015 11:50

arf @ "the LemonPip is in play".

Yes it was brother, not sister.

Yes, Rob ordered cows after Tony was Otto'd because he sticks his nose in where it's not wanted likes to help the family business. NewTom arrived back just in time to refuse to accept them.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 05/02/2015 13:58

Yeah he ordered some non magical organic cows because you only need half your calf's genetic breakdown to be organic or something. Bit vague on this as you might have noticed... Tom told him to do one.

dairyfarmerswife · 05/02/2015 14:32

I completely missed the detail on the cow buying thing but tis true that bulls don't have to be organic, on an organic farm. Probably due to limited availability.

minkGrundy · 05/02/2015 14:46

They also were not Aberdeen Angus, they were a different breed.

enochroot · 05/02/2015 15:20

I don't recall the breed but Tom spotted that he had bought in turnips or something BF frowns on as feed as well as these cattle.
I bet Rob had a good furkle round the office while he was 'helping' as well.

stilllearnin · 05/02/2015 15:52

Furkle?

stilllearnin · 05/02/2015 15:53

Is that a technical term?

dairyfarmerswife · 05/02/2015 15:56

It's a 'furtle' where I'm from. This is ringing a bell about the cattle now, though I don't remember hearing the showdown with Tom about it. They were simmentals, I think.

minkGrundy · 05/02/2015 16:39

That's it exactly. They were simmentals. And R you can still call in AA beef as long as it is only so many of the breeding stock or something. Would strengthen herd etc. And Tom said dad wanted an AA herd and that's that.
He also ordered neep which although organic would give the cattle indigestion I think. (Although it was drunkenness due to fermented neep that i recall being a problem as a kid. Leading to AAs in AA)

enochroot · 05/02/2015 17:04

I was surprised that furkle came up on my spell checker. I picked up the word somewhere between Derby and Cumbria, most likely the latter. "Root round" is equivalent, or is that also dialect?

enochroot · 05/02/2015 17:15

It wasn't really a showdown. Tom was, I think, very restrained but he made it quite clear to Rob that he was back and in charge. (Rob made an inaudible sneer, most likely.)

ZeroFunDame · 05/02/2015 17:23

very restrained but ... quite clear ... that he was back and in charge.

That is my idea of the perfect showdown!

squeaver · 05/02/2015 17:31

I'm a bit worried that they are going to turn Lilian into a full-on alcoholic.

I hate Rob but I do think the storyline's being handled well.

And I keep singing between thinking "No one's going North! No one's getting any money!" and thinking that introducing the Justin Elliot character might actually be quite interesting. He's like the uber-Brian.

And is it me or are Tom and Charlie played by the same actor?

squeaver · 05/02/2015 17:32

swinging not singing.

MollieCoddler · 05/02/2015 18:18

Agree with points about alto pip. She sounds ancient and almost as annoying as old pip.

enochroot · 05/02/2015 18:25

And is it me or are Tom and Charlie played by the same actor?

They do both have a very 'clipped' way of speaking. Probably went to the same drama school!

LillianGish · 05/02/2015 18:31

I was so hoping you were singing Squeaver - I was trying to work out which musical that was from.

ErrolTheDragon · 05/02/2015 19:05

Well tonight started with a BOOP! Robert and Jim plus Brine. Grin

Shallishanti · 05/02/2015 19:08

brilliant! Brian is kind of trying...

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 05/02/2015 19:10

I love Brian! Pub scene was a little too drawn out though. And is bird watching good radio? Even competitive bird watching.

Neil is the king of passive aggressive!
