As tribute to the best SL at the moment...

Was pure filth mini.

mini may have just hit on a potential new thread title - 50 shades of chilli!

PseudoBadger · 16/02/2015 16:05

"50 strengths of chilli - join us in Ambridge, perhaps even venture into the Carter's Red Room?"

If Rob's messing with your head, just think what he's doing to Helen's.

trevor - I thought that too, I reckon Jill had had a peek and knew full well the diaries were there. She was just too casual about it all. And also quashing David's nice little fantasy about saving the hedge for the robins in perpetuity - she's not letting him gloss over the consequences of selling Brookfield.

Helen going back to the shop does give rob plenty of opportunity to pretend not to cause havoc at home and blame it on her busy-ness

Minimammoth · 16/02/2015 17:04

Oh yes Gill is definitely on a black ops mission.
Let's all guess what might be in Neil's red room? There will be a pig pen and nose rings.

TopazRocks · 16/02/2015 17:52

mini, I find the 'oh dahling' stuff quite false but then again I'm not sure it's just the way some people talk. It's just not my way. If I do call DH 'dahling' it's as a joke and he usually jokes back. And though I use/used endearments on my DC (now grown up-ish) 'dahling' was just not my style.

So, I am very unsure about the motivation in TA. I find Helen's 'poor you' to Rob when he's had a fairly normal working day, esp. if it's still only lunch-time, a bit weird. Also quite funny. But I think that IS a deliberate
move on part of SWs. Smile

I can't believe we've almost filled a thread. Again. Shock

TopazRocks · 16/02/2015 17:53

not sure it's not ... is what I meant. grr!

PetulaGordino · 16/02/2015 18:10

I think it's all part of H&R's little mutual fantasy about what they and each other is actually like

TopazRocks · 16/02/2015 18:19

Yes, I think that's it but only partly. Does Pat not do the darling thing too - to Helen and Tony and so on? - so it could be learned behaviour. Also possibly how Helen thinks everyone behaves. I know Lillian does it too, but with her it sounds okay. Confused

AuldAlliance · 16/02/2015 18:22

I have decided to delurk a bit more.

I think Rob needs Helen to be busy in the shop and put their marriage plans on hold because he can't actually get married any time soon, can he?

PetulaGordino · 16/02/2015 18:29

Ah sorry I was talking about the "poor you" stuff mainly - I didn't quite realise you meant calling each other darling. my family all call each other darling as a term of genuine affection, and dp and I will call each other darling sometimes. So I don't see it as especially affected in general (though it sounds it with H&R) but maybe it does sound like that when we are saying it!

enochroot · 16/02/2015 18:34

If Rob's messing with your head, just think what he's doing to Helen's.

Spot on there, errol!

I like the suggested thread title.

Did anyone notice? Helen makes Rob Steak Diane.

enochroot · 16/02/2015 18:39

Are they eating Otto? Grin

TopazRocks · 16/02/2015 18:45

Wouldn't it be Steak Otto then?Grin Does bull meat get marketed differently and taste different from cow meat? P.S. I do know it's called beef. Grin

enochroot · 16/02/2015 18:49

That implies that someone called Diane was chopped up to make the original dish!

nauticant · 16/02/2015 19:02

A bit of promising continuity there.

BoreOfWhabylon · 16/02/2015 19:17

Deeavid is so going to buy Ed's cows and stay at Brookfield isn't he.

The Hooting Geordie will go ballistic!

ZeroFunDame · 16/02/2015 19:24

Hadn't thought of Ed's cows. Interesting.

Putthetulipsthere · 16/02/2015 19:26

Deeavid has to stay now! Ruth will go mad, as will Pip, and it is fascinating how apparently blind they are to Deeavid's change of heart...

florentina1 · 16/02/2015 20:00

Thought it was really boring tonight. Much more excited about the name for the next thread, than I am about the next episode.

Bluestocking · 16/02/2015 20:06

I missed last night's epi so without the thread I would have had no idea why Deevid was waxing all sigh-ful over a hedge. There's no way he's going anywhere. He's going to instal Ed's "lovely little herd" at Brookfield and refuse to leave, causing utter havoc - SATTC!

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 16/02/2015 20:08

Liking pseudo's thread title, it will be a long time before I look at a bowl of chilli without giggling.

How thick is Ruth? He doesn't want to leave, it's not hard to see.

TopazRocks · 16/02/2015 20:47

enochroot, hadn't thought that through. Grin

David's actor is certainly good at doing mournful. He's been sounding miserable for weeks. Why hasn't anyone in Ambridge - esp. his wife - noticed?
