As tribute to the best SL at the moment...

OP posts:
BitOutOfPractice · 13/02/2015 06:56

Yes I agree. I think Shula has dobbed Rob in! Oh this is an excellent storyline I think

LillianGish · 13/02/2015 07:00

I think we heard what Shula said last night and she backed up Knob's version against her better judgement. That's why she didn't want to have lunch - because of what she felt he had made her do. I think she might go home now and talk to Jim - who will tell her what a nasty piece of work Knob is and she will regret not doing the right thing. Or even better, there will be video evidence. Either way she will wish she had not been manipulated by him.

LillianGish · 13/02/2015 07:14

On the other hand she might have told the truth when PC Burns pricked her conscience. Then she will go home and when it all comes out Jim will tell her she did the right thing and confide what happened to him. I just can't make up my mind. Huge BOOPS for this cliffhanger alone.

nauticant · 13/02/2015 08:39

I'll BOOP this SL if the outcome is that Shula acted true to character. I'm open-minded about the significance of her being off with the others after the interview.

(Note: BOOP started as an adjective, then became a noun, and now I'm willing to verb it.)

nauticant · 13/02/2015 08:40

Actually, strictly speaking BOOP started as a person.

BitOutOfPractice · 13/02/2015 09:06

I'm still a person. I think.

Alsoflamingo · 13/02/2015 09:20

Sorry - question from a newbie….. What is this BOOP of which you all speak?

ZeroFunDame · 13/02/2015 09:33

She's just above you flamingo!

A justified chastiser of habitually negative postation ... To whose chastisement we responded with - if I may say so - stupendous wit and alacrity. (Think the SWs also upped their game ...)

enochroot · 13/02/2015 09:50

Shula might have been willing or hoping to answer vaguely but I don't think she would tell a direct flat-out lie. If she did then she'll crumble before it gets to court.

Interesting dilemma though. I BOOP this plotline.

BitOutOfPractice · 13/02/2015 09:53

I'm the annoying upbeat person who makes all the justifiably curmudgeonly types roll their eyes when they see me approach them at parties Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 13/02/2015 09:54

I need to listen again at 2 as my bf rather selfishly arrived home at 7 and insisted on talking and shit

Alsoflamingo · 13/02/2015 09:57

So, if we are using BOOP as a verb (as Enoch did just then), am I right in thinking the meaning would be 'I approve of this storyline'?

To BOOP = to be positive about (in the face of relentless negativity from others)?

May have got totally wrong end of stick….. thinks should be doing a million other things but this is far more fun

OddFodd · 13/02/2015 10:00

I really don't think Shula would lie to the police. She would have had to sign a statement presumably too.

This is a totally BOOP SL. And I'm sure I'd like you at parties Wink

ZeroFunDame · 13/02/2015 10:01

"BOOP" started out as "a BOOP POINT". But TA listeners are far, far too intellectually thrusting to be limited to any original usage.

nauticant · 13/02/2015 10:01

You'll be wanting this Alsoflamingo:

Glossary

Alsoflamingo · 13/02/2015 10:04

Many many thanks, Nauticant. Will start boning up….

ZeroFunDame · 13/02/2015 10:06

I resolved to try to include a BOOP point on every day that I post here.

More discerning (harder to please) posters CUP will have no truck with such Pollyannite nonsense. Their annual BOOP point is greeted with stunned silence in Birmingham.

enochroot · 13/02/2015 10:08

Excellent definition, flamingo.

Abra1d · 13/02/2015 10:09

BOOP is my heroine. I must admit I was getting fed up with the fed-uppedness on the threads previously. I am now a little worried that we are influencing storylines too strongly.

TEST>>>> Can we have more goats in Ambridge? Can Ed start a goat farm? If goats appear in the programme in the next three months or so, we will have proved our influence is too strong.

Alsoflamingo · 13/02/2015 10:14

Right - now feel up to speed. I think plenty of BOOP points of late, but plenty of WAL issues too (let's not forget). Can SOC please get the message that listeners are NOT warming to the tedium that is Carol Treggoran?! Perhaps she could get high on her own herbal supply and SOTMC…..

R4 · 13/02/2015 10:19

By George, I think she's got it: Flamingo has got the lingo! Grin

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 13/02/2015 10:27

Ostrich farming is the way to go for ed

Agree flamingo re carol

i really think it would be out of character for shula to lie to the police and she was asked a direct question. I think we are going to need to hear Alastair though - and i really hope they're not heading for divorce because there are way too many relationship breakdowns going on

Mumtotherescueagain · 13/02/2015 10:31

I was awfully cheered by the prospect of the beef cattle. Bit of contracting, bit of beef cattle, maybe a sideline in raising pedigree superdouper stock or something like and Ed's future is assured. God bless Oliver Smile

Not sure what to think about Shula. She did mention catching Rob's horse, maybe the horse was in the way of her seeing what happened. Betting rob doesn't tell Helen about his trip to the station.

Rjae · 13/02/2015 10:31

I've listened again to the sab episode (Saddo!)
Sab and rob have words about the nature of fox hunting
Rob demands the sabs camera and seems to lunge towards the sab trying to grab the camera (vivid imagination)
Sab resists and they struggle.
Sab pushes rob away to get him off his camera.
Rob punches sab
Sab goes for rob and pushes him onto ground.

Not 100% sure when Shula turns up but she's there fairly early on as she shouting at them to stop all the aggro.

No way could the camera have filmed the episode but there could be audible evidence and yes, the police do accept filmed evidence.

Rjae · 13/02/2015 10:33

Oliver is taken in by rob as he sees the best in people, hence nice to Ed and Rob.
