LTB, Errol! Shock

ErrolTheDragon · 12/02/2015 14:22

However, I did enjoy hearing Rob clearly getting the worse of his tussle with the sab, and then his re-invention of it as being like fighting with a toddler! Grin

minkGrundy · 12/02/2015 14:23

Maybe Shula will do the right thing and say Rob lied and then H will think hmmm if he lied about that maybe he's lying about Jess. Can but hope. (Overinfested)

ppeatfruit · 12/02/2015 14:24

I was just reading the thread and got mixed up between the 'traditional leisure pursuits' of the toffs and Rob's refusal to take a paternity test because of course it is right of a husband to 'lie' with his wife. Grin Him being the biggest liar ever!!

ErrolTheDragon · 12/02/2015 14:26

mimsy - ah, but he bought me a new ipod for my birthday, mainly so that I can listen to the radio without disturbing DD (it's her gcse year and her room is above the kitchen). It's not his fault that I haven't set it up yet or bought myself some earphones which stay in my evidently nonstandard ears.

OddFodd · 12/02/2015 14:29

Errol! Shock

I liked Brian being a bit of a gittish lord of the manor about swanning into any bathroom he fancies.

I don't think Helen will ask Rob anything about the divorce. She's learned never to question his version of events - her squashing her reaction to the hounds having a fox today was pitiful.

I wonder if St Smugula will feel at fault for drawing Rob's attention to the sab? If the guy presses charges, will she lie to PC Plot?

ppeatfruit · 12/02/2015 14:36

I thought that Hell. seemed more neurotic than ever with knob while hunting. It's as if she's thinking really hard about their relationship. Hopefully!

Littleturkish · 12/02/2015 14:45

I'm putting money on that camera filming the whole exchange.

ZeroFunDame · 12/02/2015 14:49

So non-standard ears are a thing? Thank heavens. I see people in trains, jogging through streets, whathaveyou - and their fingers are never fiddling with their ears trying to stuff something back in that keeps being ejected. They look so elegant. And in control of their ears and their lives ...

TheMShip · 12/02/2015 14:54

DH has not only non-standard ears, but they are at slightly different vertical positions on his head, so he can't wear sunglasses because they are always crooked and uncomfortable. It's totally a thing.

And Rob is a bastard.

Alsoflamingo · 12/02/2015 15:26

OK - here are a couple of things I am struggling with…

Firstly, given that Jess knows what a monster Knob is, why would she have shagged him last year (after being thrown out in favour of Hellin)?

And secondly, SURELY people would be asking why the divorce hasn't come through yet. Even if Hellin has been bullied into submission you'd think others would press on the matter. Isn't it bizarre being engaged to someone who is still married to someone else??

And zerofun you made me laugh out loud with your post about these normal eared people in control of their lives!

ErrolTheDragon · 12/02/2015 16:08

I need to get a headset with mic too so I can do internet phone/skype stuff- my company sent me their standard over-one-ear thingy, that totally didn't work. I'm quite puzzled that anyone can keep those buggers in place. Think I need oldfashioned over-the-head earmuff type for that.

RocknRollNerd · 12/02/2015 16:11

Sennheiser in-ear buds for non-standard (aka tiny) ears! The CX range are fab and you can normally get some for less than £20 from places like Richer Sounds. I suffered for years with constantly fiddling with earphones before I discovered them.

ErrolTheDragon · 12/02/2015 17:41

Thanks That's good to know - it's one of the few things you really can't try out before purchase.

Icimoi · 12/02/2015 17:50

It sounded to me that Helen felt that she was walking on eggshells with Rob even before the business of the fox kill blew up: she was rushing in to smooth him down about her having gone in to cover for Tracy and his having to pick up Henry before he said anything about it (at least I think she was - I missed the very beginning of the broadcast!).

When she commented on the fact that he seemed quiet, I wondered whether he'd maybe had some bad news from the CSA - or maybe he was just angry that she'd dared to escape her domestic duties. Either way, he was clearly wound up which was probably why he reacted so badly to the hunt monitor.

enochroot · 12/02/2015 17:51

Jess said he's totally irresistible.

I like the Rob/Brian contrast - Jennifer's doing something B doesn't approve of but he speaks his mind and she does it anyway.

God knows Brian hasn't been the perfect husband but I'd rather be with a Brian than a Rob.

ErrolTheDragon · 12/02/2015 17:56

Poor old Brine - he'd better hide away his fine Wine with Lillian and Kate in the house! Maybe they should move into the cottage together, leaving Phoebe with the other grownups.

funambulist · 12/02/2015 17:58

Yes, I think that the contrast between Brian and Jenny's relationship and Rob and Helen's relationship is well done. I remember when she asked Lillian to move in, Lillian wondered how Brian would feel about it and Jenny said "Leave me to handle Brian". Brian wasn't keen on the new kitchen, but Jenny swept away his protests and he said that her being part of SAVE would be awkward for him as a member of BL but that made no difference. Brian is not averse to having a good old moan but Jenny will pretty much do as she wants anyway.

That almost makes it sound like Brian is the oppressed one in their relationship, but I think that the difference is that first, Brian realises that he can never fully repay Jenny for not only taking on Ruari, but also loving him and treating him exactly as if he was her own child. Secondly, I think Brian secretly likes that fact that Jenny can't be pushed around.

Can you imagine what Jenny would say to Helen if Helen told her half of what goes on between her and Rob?

Minimammoth · 12/02/2015 18:17

Rob is true ing out to be an excellent 'baddie'. He has been saying how busy he's been of late, lots of meetings etc. Could that be a cover up for other shenanigans. And is he hypnotising Helen, and reprogramming her? I can't beleive that close friends would not have been asking more questions.

Minimammoth · 12/02/2015 18:17

Turning out damn it.

nauticant · 12/02/2015 18:42

So, Shula. Obviously she's going to discuss this with Alistair, right?

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 12/02/2015 18:44

I'm sure Rob is making Shula second guess herself re the scuffle at the hunt.

I must have missed Jim seeing a Robs true colours - can anyone enlighten me?

WhenSheWasBadSheWasHorrid · 12/02/2015 18:45

I forgot to ask if you are doing Feedback cuttedup

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 12/02/2015 19:08

I knew Oliver would help ed out!

Fallon and carol are so irritating. Do they really have to have them in scenes together.

AuldAlliance · 12/02/2015 19:10

Alistair? Who's he again?
