As tribute to the best SL at the moment...

That sab's son story will be all over the Internet don't you mean?

CuttedUpPear · 11/02/2015 19:17

This has happened before hasn't it?
Was it Greg that attacked a hunt saboteur during his relationship with Helen?

ZeroFunDame · 11/02/2015 19:20

That may well have happened.

But it sounds as if this isn't the first time Rob has attacked a hunt saboteur and been in trouble over it.

BoreOfWhabylon · 11/02/2015 19:26

Well done CUP Smile

And now, of course, St Smugula will have to wrestle with her conscience re spilling the beans on Knob - and her such an upstanding churchgoing type and all...

stilllearnin · 11/02/2015 19:28

Sob story!

Lilymaid · 11/02/2015 19:46

"St Smugula" !!
So Rob is now up for two court appearances: assault charge and child maintenance!

BoreOfWhabylon · 11/02/2015 20:28

A Lilymaid?

It be a long time since I saw one of they, oh arrr.

What a sight for sore eyes it were to see them snorks runnin' free in the fields of mustard

Lilymaid · 11/02/2015 20:45

My new Moomin mug has made me confused ... confusing Snork Maidens with the the nasal throaty laugh emitted when mouth is full of too much chocolate!

Putthetulipsthere · 11/02/2015 20:59

My first post on here- what a great title.

Oh dear, it certainly does look as if Rob is in trouble now. Surely it can't be too long before Helen realises what he's really like?? I know, it's unlikely given all the other things she's seemingly blind to. Surely Pat will have to say something against him soon?

ErrolTheDragon · 11/02/2015 21:08

Damn... need to listen to that again, a work crisis arrived onscreen during it. Shula should go and tell Oliver exactly what really happened so that they can do damage limitation for the hunt by throwing Rob to the sabs. The other thing about this incident is that Shula should now be alerted to Rob's nastiness which may help Helen at some point in the future.

BoreOfWhabylon · 11/02/2015 21:08

Welcome, tulips!

I think Pat's been biting her lip for quite a while now, although she has also been a bit distracted, what with Tony being trampledz and all.

I'm hoping for a spectacular showdown in the not too distant future.

LillianGish · 11/02/2015 21:41

St Smugula has seen Knob's true colours - let's hope she compares notes with her FIL.

Indeed araminta. One of those things that really gets on my nerves (like when politicians say 'we want all schools to be above average')

CuttedUpPear · 11/02/2015 22:23

With anyone else witnessing Rob's behaviour we might feel confident that he will receive his just desserts.
Not so with St Smugula. Her moral compass is set to Spin.

Bluestocking · 11/02/2015 22:30

I agree, CuP. St Smugula loves hunting and despises sabs, but she knows she shouldn't lie because Jesus wants her for a sunbeam. Hopefully she's sufficiently annoyed by having to "retrieve" Rob's horse to be willing to shop him to PC Plot.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 11/02/2015 22:44

Cutted, I think I'm too late with this really, but I just wanted to reassure you that a friend of mine was on Feedback years ago and they were quite happy for her to use a false name for professional reasons. I'm sure your recording went much better than you think it did!

Much enjoyed the last two episodes, especially Roy telling Kate a few home truths Grin

funambulist · 12/02/2015 00:30

The thing is Shula has got herself in a bit of a bind. Rob cleverly got his version of events in first (having checked that Shula had not yet spoken to Oliver) and then when he said in front of Helen "that's right isn't it?" Shula agreed. I can quite see how it happened. Shula was flustered and upset by: the fox being caught; by the sab filming it; the danger to the hunt as it was the second offence; having to catch Rob's horse whilst controlling her own; trying to prevent and then witnessing a fight. Then before she's got her breath back the man who she's just seen a rather nasty violent side to spins a whole pack of lies and dares her to challenge him.

Shula would be able to tell from Helen's behaviour that she completely accepted Rob's version of events and it is actually very difficult to challenge someone who lies with such confidence and conviction. Shula, who may have missed the earlier part of the confrontation, will be forced to backtrack on what she originally said in front of Helen, which will make her look unreliable. Both Rob and Helen are likely to turn on her, she'll be aware that Rob is not someone that she wants to get on the wrong side of and, of course, she won't want to damage the hunt by backing up the sab's version.

PseudoBadger · 12/02/2015 06:11

Oh Cutted well done! Is it this week's feedback?

OP posts:
LillianGish · 12/02/2015 06:42

I'm hoping Shula confides her misgivings to Jim - he has also seen that side of Knob (and so has Ian come to think of it though Shula is less likely to have a tête-à-tête with him). Or come to think of it perhaps it would be better for the plot if she said nothing then when he finally cracks and does something dreadful all those people can guiltily blame themselves for not having said anything at the time.

RocknRollNerd · 12/02/2015 08:46

Another one very excited for feedback - go Cutted!

I think it's really clever that they've had Shula as the next one to clock Rob's dark side - although she was clearly not happy with what she saw like others have said she's already been wrong footed by him in the recounting of events. Worse though is she has her oddly fundamentalist Bible tendencies (is it such a huge leap that she might go for the whole 'wives defer to your husbands' schtick given how she reacted to both female vicars and an interfaith marriage in the past?) and also she 'stood by her husband' in his dark hour with the gambling - in her mind she might (utterly wrongly of course) think that Helen is supposed to stand by Rob as things begin to unravel (the Sab and now presumably potentially the police, problems at work etc). It's going to be another missed opportunity for someone to see Rob for what he really is and intervene to support Helen.

ppeatfruit · 12/02/2015 09:04

Cutted Are you on tomorrow? Please tell and give us a clue to what name you'll be using!

ErrolTheDragon · 12/02/2015 09:05

He's gaslighting Shula, isn't he? And then there was his 'you will be sensible' to Helen - making her suppress her own ethical sense in effect, which must be one of the most toxic forms of abuse going.

trevortrevorslattery · 12/02/2015 09:06

That was great! It will be interesting to see what Shula does re telling the truth about Rob vs protecting the hunt's interest by going along with his version of events.

I have to say I have sympathy with Kate in one respect. I am older than her but will not accept I am "nearly 40"!

trevortrevorslattery · 12/02/2015 09:12

O yes 180 degrees! I laughed at that myself. 360 revolution wouldn't really cause any problem at all

I'm looking forward to hearing your JD moment, CUP - CuttedUpPear is Britannia!
