Anyone listening to "Just a Minute"?

enochroot · 09/02/2015 18:48

David might not have to pay CGT but Shula, Kenton and Lizzie will have to, won't they?

ErrolTheDragon · 09/02/2015 19:02

I wouldn't mind hearing clip-clopping any time of day, but I fear I would be decidedly grumpy if the milkround was - as quite often happens - more like the small hours or very early morning. I used to get woken up regularly at about 4am when the neighbour's milk was delivered by a noisy diesel van.

Do they do muffling overshoes which Bartelby could wear at unsocial hours? Grin overthinking the details of our hypothetical plot here

Shallishanti · 09/02/2015 19:07

a chili?
is that some kind of code?

toldmywrath · 09/02/2015 19:08

Haha Errol- I hear what you're saying Grin I believe such items are available.

Well I'm never eating chilli again.

GypsyFloss · 09/02/2015 19:14

a chilli ? Arghhhh, is that a euphemism ?

Shallishanti · 09/02/2015 19:15

Deffo a code

GypsyFloss · 09/02/2015 19:15

David. He's not going anywhere is he?!

Pipbin · 09/02/2015 19:16

Was that meant to be Pip? Do they just get any passing female in Broadcasting House to come in and play her?

Shallishanti · 09/02/2015 19:17

yes Pip....Brookfield may be part of you....but you won't be part of it! It will most definitely not be yours (what is she thinking??)

enochroot · 09/02/2015 19:19

Is all this nostalgia stuff a farewell and they really will go?Confused

enochroot · 09/02/2015 19:20

Next thread title - The Long Goodbye!

ErrolTheDragon · 09/02/2015 19:25

Hm, I'm not sure I've ever heard Neil downright lie before, though I suppose I can't blame him in this instance!

I had one of those 'why is Neil having a meeting with Charlie' moments though - even though I knew he was meeting Tom.

Pooka · 09/02/2015 19:32

How's Ruth's mother?

If she SOTMC pronto, then that's a great way of not having to move. I know route B was an issue, but them staying will make the whole route b will it won't it thing more dramatic since it's not so personal if it's justin Elliot's land being scythed.

Rob rob rob. I actually seethe when I hear his smarmy voice. When he arrived and interrupted Helens convo with pat the other day about the shop going down the pan, it was so uncomfortable. Waiting for him to start with the digs.

Shallishanti · 09/02/2015 19:32

not so much a lie, more of a spin
must have been the prospect of the chilli

choccyp1g · 09/02/2015 19:41

(Hi Lillian Gish sorry for misreplying earlier. I get a bit overexcited if anyone acknowledges my posts.)
Tonight's episode was more like the old Archers, some light humour in Neil reporting his 'confrontation' with Tom, Pip and David talking in circles.
Can just picture the Greedy's faces if they have to pay tax on their shares. Can you imagine the mumsnet thread?

AIBU to think it's not fair to pay some tax on this overvalued farm which I never did a day's work in my entire life.? Replies: YABVVVVVU! I would give it up in a heartbeat to have my grandad/auntie/old milk round/cart horse back.

choccyp1g · 09/02/2015 19:44

Yes, Shallishanti I was mean to say Neil lied. Just a bit of spin to get Susan in the mood for a chilli.

It was somehow typical of stupid Pip to be claiming that going for the robotic parlour in some way made them innovative pioneers like Dan Archer. She needs to learn that throwing gazillions at something that has already been invented and is in established use is not pioneering.

However, contrary to whoever it was upthread, I will say that I don't find this Pip's voice difficult to distinguish from the others, not least because of the irritatingly sliding accent. But that's the one and only thing I could say in her favour. I find this one infinitely more annoying than old Pip, except when she was being a brat about Jude and the car.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/02/2015 20:01

I think I found OldPip's voice more annoying, but it was in character.
