This is too much for me now. I need to meditate.

The sinkhole! I'd forgotten that. Oh good.

enochroot, sorry about your DH's friend. That is a perfectly good reason even I would accept for talking during TA.

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 29/01/2015 20:13

I love it when the SWs gamble with the weather & lose.

LillianGish · 29/01/2015 21:15

Hoping we might now see some proper resolution of the whole Roy Hayley thing. I'm not expecting them to get back together because while I suppose that might be perfectly feasible in real life, Hayley seems to have gone the way of Mike and Vicki and been Socked sacked.

I think they might be getting set up to own a farm up north but not live in it, live on a farm in Ambridge but not own it and something will happen meaning they can't or don't want to move. But the sibs will either have their money by this point or want it so the Dopeys won't be able to buy Bfield back and/or JE won't let them.

Long convoluted set up.

TheMShip · 30/01/2015 06:57

Aaaaah! Phoebe was amazing! Count me in the cheering squad. Love the last dagger at the end where Haley is mum and Kate is Kate.

Icimoi · 30/01/2015 07:36

I'm wondering whether the next development is David wanting to cancel everything, the siblings having a massive hissy fit and Roooth flouncing.

LillianGish · 30/01/2015 07:43

I think the apocalyptic sounding rain storm in the background to David and Joe's discussions is definitely significant. Didn't we have similar weather not long ago? I'm definitely thinking sinkhole!

ZeroFunDame · 30/01/2015 07:49

They really must do something soon to put the extended family out of their misery. I don't mind Shula and Alistair and Elizabeth being disappointed but Kenton has whipped himself and everyone he's ever known into a froth of anticipation over money they haven't seen. Jolene, Fallon, poor Lilian, he's probably even been on the phone to his ex-wife promising zillions to their daughter. All waiting on the sale of Brookfield. It's excruciating.Grin

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 30/01/2015 08:48

Well Kenton must be in at least £20k debt for the trip to oz. and he's probably not bothering with monthly payments so the interest will be racking up. He is spectacularly dense when it comes to money.

I missed last night but sounds like I should definitely listen to it!!

ZeroFunDame · 30/01/2015 09:18

That was exactly the figure I arrived at as well BYOS.

Listen now. It was one of those rare episodes thrown in as a reward to despairing listeners.

trevortrevorslattery · 30/01/2015 09:56

BOOPtastic episode last night! Go Phoebe! Loved her going back to "mum" in Birmingham as well, and sounds like we will see Hayley soon! yipee!

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 30/01/2015 09:59

Ok just listened

Je bit was bullshit. As David was totally suckered!!!
Joe having the milk bottle and mangle is rubbish - of course he would have had to dump a load of stuff when evicted. Was very nice to hear joe though on form as usual. And good to hear a topical debate. Poor joe - he's going to be upset when ed gets evicted.

But the phoebe bit was brilliant!!! She knows her mother well!!! I hope this does lead to some form of reconciliation with her dad. Thank god Jenny is a good gran. And Kate's self pity when she was revelling in Roy's misadventure a few days earlier.

On another note - I've banged on about this before but I think it is really unhealthy to involve kids in the breakdown of a marriage (unless there is abuse). Blaming Kate because she 'knew how Lucas would react' wasn't good. Roy's response to phoebe all those years ago was far more the right thing to do - even though it must be so hard.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 30/01/2015 10:03

We must be hearing Hayley as I can't imagine Kate being the provider of motherly love!

ZeroFunDame · 30/01/2015 10:15

Yay! Hayley.

But will it be her? Or Sheridan Smith? Or Cush Jumbo? Or Clare Danes? Or another Troughton?

Will we even know it's Hayley when she appears? Will everyone in the scene have to use her name in every sentence? Or will thousands of people spend 13 minutes wondering who on earth Phoebe is talking to?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 30/01/2015 10:18

Nah, Hayley will be communicating through mime and they will have an extra playing Hayley's mum instead.

ZeroFunDame · 30/01/2015 10:19

Now that would be annoying.

ppeatfruit · 30/01/2015 10:31

Jessie and Mummytime I know Roy knew and I suppose Hayley did but I'm certainly not sure if Jenny and Brian did. Sorry got a bit mixed up there. BOOP point for Feeb's brilliant showdown and her asking Kate to take her to Birmingham to see her "Mum".

Also I Liked Joe calling JE the devil "you 'ave to sup with a long spoon".

People hang on to stuff even when they move you know. My DM took loads of old 'crap' with her to a tiny flat Grin

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 30/01/2015 10:44

But a mangle!!!

Also, joe was depressed at the time and I don't think he cared about anything enough to cram it all in

So where is the milkman story going?

JessieMcJessie · 30/01/2015 10:48

Phoebe was absolutely brilliant, as so many others have said, massive BOOP for that whole scene. Wish they'd mentioned it was the second affair though, can't think why Phoebe didn't point out that Kate had already had one right under Phoebe's nose and sworn she'd repent

Re Joe and the mangle and milk bottle, isn't the pole barn in "Grundy's field" which is some sort of scrap of land outside Grange farm that they held on to even throughout the eviction to Meadow rise? Or in fact acquired at the time of the eviction to store sundry farm stuff they had to clear out of Grange Farm? I did find myself wondering if there was any connection between the milk round and JE's revelation about his great great grandfather farming in the area, but that would be far too far fetched, surely?

David was such a dimwit not to smell a rat at Justin's ready agreement to his plan. Justin's "architect" is a demolition expert and the plan is for the whole lot to be razed to the ground for fracking or some such like. His great grandfather probably never existed.

enochroot · 30/01/2015 10:58

Fallon would take the mangle off his hands!

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 30/01/2015 13:20

I could be wrong, but I think the land with the barn was rented from Brookfield - if so, what happens to that when Brookfield is sold?

Icimoi · 30/01/2015 13:35

I'd be pleasantly surprised if we actually hear Hayley. I have a nasty suspicion that instead we'll have Phoebe phoning to tell JD or Kate how nice it was to talk to her and how much more like a real mother she is.

I think the milk round stuff must be there to tie in with Moike leaving. Maybe once the whole Brookfield idea is shelved David will decide to revive the Archer milk round and start buying Ed's milk off him. Or maybe Josh will expand his business empire in that direction.

ppeatfruit · 30/01/2015 13:38

Or Oliver could buy the milk round, he's keen on local pursuits (hunting mainly) but he has a heart.
