YY to Shula/horse remarks!

I do remember The Palllisers, Petula, but I think it was shown at a time when I was just a little bit too young to stay up and watch it. That was definitely the case with The Forsyte Saga. Somebody at the BBC made a huge mistake with the latter - if it had been filmed in colour they'd have made a mint out of it in foreign sales, repeats, boxed sets now, but at the time for cost reasons they were only making a few programmes in colour and TFS wasn't one of them.

TA has of course always been made in colour. Smile

toldmywrath · 02/11/2014 14:21

Yes I agree with TA being made in colour Mimsy Wink , but I sometimes wonder if it is also made in supermarionation as well (Thunderbirds viewers will understand that reference)

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 02/11/2014 14:26

Grin Undoubtedly!

unitarian · 02/11/2014 17:15

So what's in store for us this week?

For sale signs at Brookfield?
Carol arrested for murder?
Adam loses the contract & decides to move north with David & Ruth?
William gets into trouble for wandering pheasants?
Rob tightens the screws on Helen?
Elizabeth becomes ever more fragrant?

BringYourOwnSnowman · 02/11/2014 17:27

Yes to for sale sign and an unrealistically fast lood of offers way over the asking price

Minimammoth · 02/11/2014 17:35

Birch ester land buys up Brookfield, bypass goes ahead, big housing estate, body found as groundwork is started. The Bull taken over by Wetherspoons. Helen wakes up and it's all been a dream. No?

Minimammoth · 02/11/2014 17:36

Borchester. Clearly predictive does not understand T A

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 02/11/2014 17:39

Sounds as likely as anything else that's happened recently, Minimammoth! Clearly you need to post more about TA so your phone learns words like Borchester and Ambridge. Smile

unitarian · 02/11/2014 18:58

On the good side, Ian seems to be talking to Helen again so perhaps he'll steer her right.
Ed is going to be a beater and, hopefully, get lots of big tips.
Someone might cotton on to the strange underground happenings.

R4 · 02/11/2014 19:07

The SW do read this thread.
"SAVE has been working all weekend."
Finally ...Hmm

unitarian · 02/11/2014 19:12

And the children are being consulted.

Bluestocking · 02/11/2014 19:13

Yy, unitarian, finally the younger generation are being consulted.

GypsyFloss · 02/11/2014 19:17

I know the children have been consulted but it's nonsense to think they'd have said yes without any fuss. It's all bollocks.

unitarian · 02/11/2014 19:19

Clearly they don't have a sentimental attachment to the place but they want to have their Grans near. That's nice.

There is no way on earth my generally very easy going teenagers would agree to a move like that without any fuss. They get wobbly lipped if we even vaguely talk about moving home and that would be to another house in the same village!

I've decided not to bother listening any more for now. With the exception of the HelRob story it is all just dire or cobblers ...seance anyone?

BringYourOwnSnowman · 02/11/2014 19:25

Load of nonsense. Why don't we all write to the pope to get those teenagers in the queue for their sainthoods.

BasketzatDawn · 02/11/2014 19:25

The consultation with the teenagers indeed nonsense. SO unrealistic. Och well, as long as the hens are okay .... and I suppose you can do A level OPE in Northumberland. Does David really thin it will be only months till the farm is sold? Of course I know nuffink but thinking about bigger houses around here talking well over a year to shift. Possible that Ben is happy to move - he maybe doesn't like school.

BTW, I think there was ref to Mr Annabel when Amy Franks was shagging the married man. The shaggee's wife worked with A's husband, I think, and A told Usha. That he was married.

EssexMummy123 · 02/11/2014 19:25

Yup - i'm starting to think time for a long break, there's a reason i haven't watched soaps in years.

RocknRollNerd · 02/11/2014 19:28

Was that a new Josh tonight? I think he was? Given his accent which seemed to veer all over the place I'm fearful they are going to replace all cast members one by one with Northerners and then one day we will all wake up and The Archers will indeed have been transported to Northumbria [sic]. A bit like those German POWs in Wales who shifted their dormitory wall bit by bit to hide the earth from their tunnel...

BasketzatDawn · 02/11/2014 19:28

Another more mature person who recalls The Pallisers and TFS. Problem is I have trouble knowing the difference Blushand who wrote which. I should read the books as that would help. One series was on a Friday evening and I used to come in from Brownies/Guides when it was on.

BringYourOwnSnowman · 02/11/2014 19:29

Well given how long the decision on route b took I would imagine Brookfield will be sold and the cows on their way up the motorway by friday

Thanking you Smile Thanks

toldmywrath · 02/11/2014 19:33

GypsyFloss at 19:17:41-yup that's what I shouted at the radio It's all bollocks when Josh asked what about my driving test. I mean, WTAF! Yeah sure selling & buying a farm will only take 5 minutes in Archers lala land
