A big showdown tonight I hope.

Thanks to Zero (I think?) for the great title.

Blue stocking - once Jill finds out about liz I thi k the actress will have a field day

Oh lizzie, how could you?

unitarian · 05/10/2014 01:39

At this rate of posting we'll need a new thread by a week on Monday.

TeenyfTroon · 05/10/2014 07:08

I'm struggling to keep up with this thread and the podcasts! Especially as I now have to listen TWICE to the film so I pick up on everything you lot talk about! (Used to just battle on through all the interruptions from kids, washing machine, life etc)

It's worth it for stuff like like this tho -

Maybe lily will branch out into tapestry. So we could have a charlie and adam at it behind a pleasing tableau of lower loxley with liz being rogered by the hobbit in the bottom corner

Still laughing now!
Like your scenario icimoi. Though I always want everyone to live happily ever after which is no good in drama.

ppeatfruit · 05/10/2014 11:44

Me too TeenyTroon I laughed a lot at that! Genius BYOS !!

ppeatfruit · 05/10/2014 11:48

Just listening to a TA R4 scriptwriter Liz Wainwright? on Desert Island Discs. She just said that she wrote the Clive Horrobin hold up of the village shop and said herself "It just wasn't The Archers" !!!!

ppeatfruit · 05/10/2014 11:49

Oh thanks for the new thread Psuedo Grin

PetulaGordino · 05/10/2014 12:17

Sally wainwright - she is fab. I love last tango in Halifax and Scott and Bailey. Happy valley was good but SO violent I struggled with some scenes

GypsyFloss · 05/10/2014 12:24

I thought Happy Valley was the most powerful piece of writing I've seen for a very long time. She is an amazing writer. The actor who played the handsome but psychopathic baddy in HV is now playing a vicar sleuth in Grantchester which starts tomorrow night on tv.

Back on topic , my mum has just phoned from Dublin to ask what Charlie's intentions are towards Adam. She's a convert in her 70's and thinks it's hilarious that I talk to strangers on the internet about it all.

ppeatfruit · 05/10/2014 12:34

We will have to agree to differ about Ms. Wainwright; I prefer a bit of escapism in my listening and viewing (there's enough violence and misery in the news thanks Grin ).

I love your mum Gypsy "intentions?" If Kenton saying how happy Charlie was that night meant anything at all, they weren't intentions. Grin Adam can't keep it in his trousers can he?

PetulaGordino · 05/10/2014 12:36

YY gypsy I agree it was excellent. I'm a wuss about violent scenes, that's all.

Sarah Lancashire on TA, that might be interesting!

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/10/2014 12:56

Agree with ppeat (and not for the first time)

Surely A & C have DTD, hence his post-nookie cheerfulness?

PetulaGordino · 05/10/2014 13:06

I'd forgotten about that, yes that was my interpretation of the Kenton/Charlie exchange too

PseudoBadger · 05/10/2014 13:12

Me too, I meant to pop in last night and say they've clearly consummated their relationship.

OP posts:
BoreOfWhabylon · 05/10/2014 13:21

Although... they were in a field and the evenings are getting quite chilly now.

Perhaps it was just a bit of a snog and a quick fumble to be going on with.

Charlie then leaves with a spring in his step, thinking he is on a promise but Adam will have second thoughts?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 05/10/2014 13:23

Although I should imagine Charlie would be behaving like that out of smuggery that he's reeled Adam in.

If they did dtd then Adam is really easy to seduce. Didn't take that much effort on Charlie's part.

ppeatfruit · 05/10/2014 15:03

Also do those combine's (I'm assuming it's the combine) have privacy blinds ? Or will the passing yokel be laughing up his sleeve after noting the erm activity Grin Maybe it was dark Grin

Thanks Bore btw!

justiceofthePeas · 05/10/2014 15:16

Carol did specifically ask about garden and Jill said go ahead but leaves Phil's roses. So possibly this is a device to bring back Bert and signal that Carol is staying.

Icimoi · 05/10/2014 15:33

I wonder if Roooth will do a complete about-turn and decide that they ought to sell Brookfield to Justin Elliot to use as Route B and a solar farm, on the basis that he's probably the only potential buyer? The Deeaavid will say over his dead body, there'll be loads of glorious rows, then Heather will snuff it leaving Deeeavid and Roooth to pick up the pieces.

Icimoi · 05/10/2014 15:36

I must say it did seem a cheek Carol entering Phil's roses for the flower comp. She might at least have included something saying she was entering them on Jill's behalf, given that she must have done all the work that got them to the point of producing a good enough display for the competition.

Bluestocking · 05/10/2014 15:39

Or perhaps FF is getting loads of offers of other work, so Ruth will go and live with Heather for a bit, and let Pip take over as The Annoying Female Voice of Brookfield.

I really am overinfesting - I've found SEVEN sheltered housing/retirement home type places in Prudhoe! What the hell are the SWs thinking?

ppeatfruit · 05/10/2014 15:57

Another option would be for Ruth to stay with her DM for 4 days and come back to Brookfield for the rest of the week, leaving other carers with her mum (professional and neighbours\friends ). Is she an only child? Are there no nephews and nieces etc.?

ppeatfruit · 05/10/2014 15:59

A bit overly dramatic for Ruth I don't believe it actually. Why are the S.W's so keen on sensation ffs??

unitarian · 05/10/2014 16:56

A cheerful Charlie indicates that they did DTD in the cab but we were spared that particular scene, thank heavens.

Freddie might not be the only one running amok at the hunt ball. I predict Ian will make an appearance, possibly with kitchen knives.

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/10/2014 17:13

Can't help thinking Heatherpet's days are numbered. Popping her clog will be the only way to resolve the Great Brookfield Standoff.

On a separate note, am v relieved that, although Peep has returned to the bosom of her family, we have, thus far, been spared her explosive consonants. I pray this will continue.

BoreOfWhabylon · 05/10/2014 17:13

popping both her clogs, of course, not just the one!
