I think Phoebe's slightly strangulated enunciation makes her sound like a sensitive yet plucky upper-middle class Victorian heroine. She sounds like she's escaped from an afternoon play about the evils of the boot-blacking industry.

I've just caught up and thought the actress who plays pheebs is improving slightly! In the scene with Linda ( i love Lin's pretensions to being AN ARTISTE !!!) she actually sounded passable, and the generational differences were nicely played (sorry, I sound as up myself as Linda ).

The Great Brookfield debate is just not grabbing me, mainly because it's such a non-starter that it just isn't interesting. So, a bit of a yawn-fest.
