A big showdown tonight I hope.

Thanks to Zero (I think?) for the great title.

Its nice that he was worried about her - just like its so considerate of him to phone so his trout is on the table with perfect timing. The silken ties tighten...

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 15/10/2014 19:34

It is terrifying.

Surely the pheasants could kill him?

Stopanuary · 15/10/2014 19:39

I keep hoping Helen will realise what Rob's doing and push him into the anaerobic digester...

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 15/10/2014 19:51

I just get the impression she likes it

Henry chose a good host mother...

BasketzatDawn · 15/10/2014 19:52

So what was said at the end of the epi? Lizard telling big sis how stupid she's been, Shula making reassuring noises about how it happened to her too, what then? Somebody dared to phone me during TA tonight. When will the world learn? It was good hearing Soosan taking an interest in village life, wasn' it? Wink

I'm wondering about the hunt ball being a little early for Jess's baby to arrive. But I don't know when the hunt ball is. Smile And it struck me as pretty poor scripting that Hayley and Jess met Borchester's answer to Top Shop and now H appears to have gone. Shame if they don't develop that further.

mummytime · 15/10/2014 20:28

Oh do you think Hayley could come back as Jess's Nanny?

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 15/10/2014 20:38

Basketz it would be a shame to only read a synopsis of the final scene. It was all in the intonation. (Rob's intonation...)

Oh - who was it..... JuniorMint! Yes, I've certainly noticed and it's very annoying when one comes upon it unexpectedly. When I go to iPlayer I want to hear the episode, not read it. Can't imagine what their justification might be.

DadDadDad · 15/10/2014 21:31

Everybody - your expertise is required on the Guardian's Notes & Queries:
www.theguardian.com/lifeandstyle/2014/oct/15/the-archers-helen-rob

The question is how long before Helen twigs what Rob is up to?

stilllearnin · 15/10/2014 22:02

Do you know what? I'd be rubbish in an abusive relationship. I find it really hard to spot Rob's stuff even though i thought I'm pretty astute! I know he's up to no good but I find it hard to spot (should I stick to panto)

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 15/10/2014 22:10

I think a pp is right - he will isolate her and get her doing everything he wants and then the criticism will start and he will slowly grind her down. Henry will also end up cowed and doing as he's told because he's scared for his mum

I think the Jess story complicates things unnecessarily

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 15/10/2014 22:49

I also liked they way they threw in Henry being asked to get his hoof shaped slippers on so we knew he'd stopped silently riding his trike up and down whilst glaring maliciously

nauticant · 15/10/2014 22:59

Henry will also end up cowed

Henry will be Knob's little man :

"Isn't mummy stupid Henry? Why is it she can't do anything right? Yes, that's right, it's because she's stupid."

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 15/10/2014 23:09

But he will be conflicted and want to stay on robs good side. I bet he will only have to defy him once for him to learn not to do it again.

Sorry, that would be in the real world but as rob has clearly been brought in to be Damian's protector....

PseudoBadger · 16/10/2014 06:51

I'm wondering if Ed might just walk out of Susan's. We live in a very similar situation and it's bloody stressful, for all concerned.

Rob is a dastardly fellow isn't he!

OP posts:
LillianGish · 16/10/2014 08:24

What about: Out hunting with Rob on the White Pony of the Apocalypse - is the ghost of Doris coming for Jill with a flock of pheasants?

LillianGish · 16/10/2014 08:33

Did anyone else wonder what Rob was posting that needed to be signed for - unfortunately Susan was too busy gossiping to notice (or was she?). Also good to see the SWs have taken note of our comments about the unrealistic lack of dogs - with several appearances by Holly, all entirely superfluous to the plot.

mummytime · 16/10/2014 08:35

I wondered if it was something to do with the divorce, or even a paternity test.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 16/10/2014 08:40

Divorce I reckon. He's probably trying to screw Jess for half er inheritance (fingers crosse it all got left to her mum!)

ppeatfruit · 16/10/2014 08:46

stillearnin Snap; people DO forget things too don't they?

I reckon Rob lives in a fantasy world centred on a cosy scene (like a children's storybook illustration) of a shiny dresser, warm fire, welcoming wifey and DCs. Helen matches his fantasy because of her relationship background.

I love the image of Jess outside shrieking !! Boreof and add "Robbee it's meeee jesseeee with the babeeeee" Shock Shock

ppeatfruit · 16/10/2014 08:48

Hell needs the fantasy too ( I should've said).

Susan's reaction to the reality of the muddy kitchen Grin (she's a fantasist too IMO). !

Pilcrow · 16/10/2014 09:12

Missed last night (again); looking forward to catching up this afternoon.

Love the prophecies of doom. Surely it can't be too long before chicken entrails are involved?

I'm also increasingly hearing the HellRob SL as a Rosemary's Baby scenario. The day Hellin scarfs down raw liver for lunch we'll know it's A Sign that Rob (in league with Carol Tregorran, the most obvious witch/devil-worshipper on the planet) has arranged for HellBoy Henry to have a sibling with fully-functioning swivel head.

ppeatfruit · 16/10/2014 09:32

Pilcrow I 'caught up' just now but had to listen again to it because 3 hounds rushed into our garden howling Shock and frightened the cat!! So it all happens in the fr. countryside!

Pilcrow · 16/10/2014 09:48

The Hounds of Hell, pp! Lo, it's all coming to pass!

Grin Grin

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 16/10/2014 09:57

So are we agreed that its not a sinkhole opening up under Brookfield but a gateway to hell?

PrincessFiorimonde · 16/10/2014 10:43

Just catching up with thread. Had a good giggle at the White Pony of the Apocalypse and Jesseeeee at the window. Thanks for cheering up my morning!

And yes, BYOS, definitely a gateway to hell.
