A big showdown tonight I hope.

Thanks to Zero (I think?) for the great title.

Sorry another 'weren't you even listening!' question- I thought Hayley told vicki about rotaboy? If not who did she tell?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 12/10/2014 09:02

Yes she did and nothing came of it which surprised me. I thought vickoi would tell mike who work be straight round and if not she would have been!

ppeatfruit · 12/10/2014 09:39

Did she BYOS ? I thought she said that there were rumours about him nicking money. Not playing away. Oh dear maybe I don't listen properly either. Grin

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 12/10/2014 09:57

I always check my facts on low field!

Hayley said he told her a one off but she doesn't know what to believe and vicky suggests she ask Elizabeth.

ppeatfruit · 12/10/2014 10:04

Well as soon as Vicky realises Hayley has gone to stay with her mum Vicky'll realise it was more won't she?

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 12/10/2014 10:14

I'm surprised she didn't tell mike
My guess is that vicky will go round to tell them to turn down the radio head an find Roy alone, in his pyjamas and unshaven. Phoebe will have moved in with Jenny and Hayley will hae decided to stay longer at her mums.

Vicky will have a massive go at him. He will either spiral down quickly into a suicidal mess or the sw won't mention him for a few weeks.

I don't think he will approach lizzie as I don't think he every really wanted to be with her. I think a lot if affairs are fantasy and when reality hits they realise what they are losing. If he was going to leave he wouldn't have sought out lizzies permission to do so. He knew nothing would come of it.

ppeatfruit · 12/10/2014 10:17

Maybe she will tonight .

unitarian · 12/10/2014 10:41

On Ambridge Organics/ Bridge Farm structure -
Pat said 'What's she going to live on?' which implies that Helen won't have an income now she's left the shop.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 12/10/2014 12:09

Who was it who mentioned suicide in relation to Roy? I laughed it off when it first came up - but I'm suddenly a little worried about him. Affair ended, career spoilt, no job now, wife and small child left, older child despising, disgrace probably coming, parent & co buggering off... Sister flown, best friend flown further. Bloody hell....

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 12/10/2014 12:15

Part Of the reason I suggested suicide is because I think they want to get rid of characters and have dramatic storylines. Younger characters dying in tragic circumstances seems to fit the bill

ppeatfruit · 12/10/2014 12:27

Oh dear Zero and BYOS Sad And we haven't been kind to him either Grin

Justwhateverreally · 12/10/2014 12:39

Hi everyone, I've been a lurker for quite a while. My extreme irritation at the current plotlines means I HAVE to chip in. Brookfield is of course bollocks and I can't add much to the excellent dissections that you have all already set out.

But I do have one point on the Christmas panto thing which I don't think anyone has mentioned yet.

Does anyone remember that when Lynda turned down the chance of applying for the manager's job at Grey Gables (and it went to Kathy), she had a conversation with her DH in which he convinced her to take more time for herself and her community activities, like the panto?
That was earlier this year, I think? So how is it in any way credible that Lynda would suddenly do a volte face and decide to scrap the thing, at precisely the moment when she should be revealing the epic extravaganza that she has spent months dreaming up?

It's just a half arsed way for the scriptwriters to chuck yet more Ambridge traditions in the bin, because they can't be bothered with thinking of new and interesting ways of writing them and integrating them into ongoing storyline.

Poor show, scriptwriters, very poor show.

choccyp1g · 12/10/2014 12:42

I was hoping Vicki would save him the trouble.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 12/10/2014 13:00

I wish I could see into Mr O'Connor's mind... It seems shocking to think of wiping out the entire Tucker clan (and we know what we think will happen to the 'Archer' amongst them...) Is he absolutely sure he has something better to replace them with? (Either intensifying the current cast's stories or moving in ... rural hipsters or whatever....)

Oh, justwhatever I'm sure there's still time for some sort of Christmas "happening". It seemed to be the residents rather than Lynda who can't be bothered - she just needs something they care about.

ppeatfruit · 12/10/2014 13:01

Maybe Linda's menopausal Justwhatever We all change don't we ? She did sound a bit depressed to me.

unitarian · 12/10/2014 14:45

You've got me worried now! I thought my prediction about Adam was 'dark' for TA but Roy's suicide is a very real prospect the way things are going.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 12/10/2014 14:49

I think they are aiming for emmerdale tbh

ppeatfruit · 12/10/2014 14:57

Shock Shock NOOOOOOOOOOOO BYOS Shall we all bombard the complaints programme on Friday?

Justwhateverreally · 12/10/2014 15:22

Yeah of course people can change, it would just be nice if the scriptwriters could be consistent that's all. They could have at least mentioned it, then it would be believable. As it is, it just looks like conveniently scrapping whatever past history doesn't suit them.

Justwhateverreally · 12/10/2014 15:23

Zero - perhaps she'll propose doing Caucasian Chalk Circle or somesuch instead...

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 12/10/2014 15:26

I can even hear the scene

Mike and vicky arguing about what a toe rag Roy is. Then cut to a sobbing Roy listening to radio head and a muffled argument through the wall. Then back to mike and vicky arguing - bang - silence - dum de dum de dum de dum

Could that be more crass than crashing a plane on a village to do a character cull?

I hope I am just being cynical because I don't like it when death is used as a plot device or to add some shock value. (Yes I am thinking about Nigel)

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 12/10/2014 15:29

I agree just re Lynda

Maybe they are planning something health wise (although in sure she said she had been through the menopause)

She dropped the play limply and was a bit pathetic re the naming ceremony debacle. Not very Lynda.

PetulaGordino · 12/10/2014 16:37

Maybe the actress is fed up with doing the show Wink

ppeatfruit · 12/10/2014 16:45

OMG BYOS Shock OR Roy gets pissed out of his head and piddles and shouts\swears etc. in front of the buyers of M & V's place and they pull out. So Roy can be comforted by his Dad. Then everything gets better. Grin

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 12/10/2014 16:47

Well that's better ppeat!
