How about we immortalise Schrodinger's Baby in the opening paragraph?

How long will this thread last DadDadDad?

That was a good 'moving forward' episode.
But I'm intrigued by the casual mention of the Hunt Ball.

Here's my scenario----

Helen will spend the week before the ball obsessing about her hairdo. The dress she chooses to wear will be damned with faint praise from Rob so she'll wear something else.

Pat will babysit and discover that Henry has been suffering from night terrors for months and is trapped in his bunk bed.

Jess will gate-crash and go into labour on the dance floor but that nice midwife will suddenly reappear. Shrodinger's baby will subsequently be named Robert Titchener.

Lizzie will be there being syrupy but the gossip round the buffet will be about her being sued for unfair dismissal by her 'manager' which will shock Shula who will be there without Alistair who will be 'away' at a conference.

The beagles will escape and disappear down the sinkhole which will be the reason why The Road will be built anywhere but Ambridge.

Dum de dum de dum de dum...

stilllearnin · 17/09/2014 07:26

Unitarian I was looking for something you missed but, no, you appear to have coveted everything. The ball will be hideous.

I don't believe this is how Hayley's final position. There is no way Roy can get off so lightly. I missed the final minutes last night - anything important?

Oh, I had completely forgotten that Susan, clarrie, and Hayley know about jess...I am looking forward to how that will pan out in the village.

Veritata · 17/09/2014 07:42

I really hope they are not going to have Hayley taking the position that it was mostly Lizzie's fault and her husband was led astray against his will. She just isn't that stupid.

Re the hunt, my theory is that the hounds are going to find a fox and tear it apart in Henry's presence, and Knob is going to brainwash Helen into thinking it's perfectly fine, and it's really good for Henry to see country life in the raw.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 17/09/2014 08:02

If the sw leave Hayley and Roy to it now I will be mighty posse off and assume it is a cheating husband who wrote it!!

As for pc plot - he is creepily persistent but then I guess the clue is in the name! Fallon just seems to be playing games all the time.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 17/09/2014 08:53

Unitarian

You have forgotten one thing

Jenny will unmask Carole as a murderer in a poirot-esque way and pc plot will be there (conveniently) to make the arrest

I envisage that occurring moments before Jess' waters break all over the dance floor

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 17/09/2014 09:04

Shameful omission of Freddie and a bunch of his mates going on a drink and drug fuelled rampage across the dance floor before he grabs the microphone from the leader of the band and denounces his mother from the stage.....

ErrolTheDragon · 17/09/2014 09:09

Having a stalker who is a policeman could be an interesting one to deal with... but actually I think PC Plod is OK, just keener on her than she is on him.

I don't think Hayley is stupid at all - she may have decided to allow Roy's version of events to stand because she doesn't want the family (which had worked ok to that point) broken up, and it would play better in negotiations with Lizzie. If Lizzie has any shred of decency she'd shoulder the bulk of the responsibility and come up with a reasonable settlement for Hayley's sake.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 17/09/2014 09:10

Is fallon catering for the hunt ball?

Fallon will be hosting the entire thing from the Village Hall. Elizabeth and Roy have been so distracted that its fairly likely they've let some crucial licence expire. They'll find this out on the morning of the Ball....

The expensive jazz band will decline to play the Village Hall. Only the Midnight Shamblers (managed by Wayne) can save the day!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 17/09/2014 09:22

(it's...)

Oooh - a stalker policeman would be interesting. (Isn't there a stalker type in Corrie atm?) But I think it's just poor acting that makes him look that way.

Hayley's very much the sort if person who would concentrate on the practical to hold herself together.

I'm wondering if a) Geraldine will turn out to have an employment law spouse or b) Elizabeth will let slip a little to Shula who will set her straight re constructive dismissal and befitted to utter the word "Usha".

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 17/09/2014 09:24

(be forced...)

trevortrevorslattery · 17/09/2014 09:30

BYOS and Petula I totally agree PC Plot is creepy and persistent. I think Fallon isn't keen and she keeps saying no to him- she gives in from time to time to get him off her case but ugh. I don't like him.

I am hoping Hayley is trying to push Roy into getting the best settlement possible so she can have 50% of it when she kicks him out.

Ooh the hunt ball. An extremely posh acquaintance of mine had the hunt ball at his mansion home. At the end of the evening his wife had the pleasure of stumbling across a couple of the younger guests DTD in the shrubbery! Maybe Roy and Liz will be overcome by passion again blergh hope not.

YY to Freddie getting ratarsed and making a scene though.

When is the hunt ball anyway?

ErrolTheDragon · 17/09/2014 09:44

I was Confused by who Geraldine was - 'temporary assistant' manager at LL, yes? Didn't Lynda once have a goat called Geraldine or have I totally imagined that?

unitarian · 17/09/2014 09:46

I like the idea of Freddie going on a rampage at the Ball!

PetulaGordino · 17/09/2014 09:54

isn't that The Good Life errol? though Lynda could have too of course

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 17/09/2014 09:55

\link{http://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/2014/sep/17/radio-review-a-month-in-ambridge-archers-nancy-banks-smith\Nancy's here!}

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 17/09/2014 10:04

Thanks TOWtNS - great fun.

I will have to brush up my Tennyson.

ErrolTheDragon · 17/09/2014 10:12

Oh yes, of course that was where Geraldine the Goat comes from - glad it wasn't total imagination, must have conflated Lynda and Margot saying that name. Grin

unitarian · 17/09/2014 11:23

I hope the Hunt Ball will be at Grey Gables so that Ian gets to do the catering and slips Rob a prawn or whatever it is he's allergic to.

I mention this because I miss Ian and want him to have a prime role in removing Helen's blinkers.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 17/09/2014 11:46

I hope the Hunt Ball won't be the damp squib successor to the Kitchen thing...

They should do more Lady Chat stories. Wasn't it Alice's 18th (or 21st) that saw Chris getting off with Venetia (?) and beginning his meteoric social ascent? Rosa's shelved but I wonder which local princess George (or even JakeShock )will set their cap at in a few years. (I daresay Jamie will be evaporated before he gets the chance.)

(unitarian We now have an EastEnders showrunner. Rest assured that Ian is being saved for the big Christmas murder story...)

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 17/09/2014 11:49

oooh yes, Venetia! Grin

Remember the hilarious time when she was coming to Carter Mansions for dinner? Susan interpreted Netia as Nisha & assumed she would need curry (but failed to check with Chris as any normal parent would).

hahaha Hmm

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 17/09/2014 12:03

Oh yes! Didn't she have some more hilarious trouble with the name "Basti"?

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 17/09/2014 12:08

that rings a faint bell but I can't remember who he was (unless Netia's brother?)

\link{http://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/celebrity-news/spider-man-star-felicity-jones-4270717#ixzz3DZNIpOYa\Very nice piece here about Felicity Jones (original Emma)} - she sounds like a really sound, grounded sort of person.

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 17/09/2014 12:21

Right, the RT spoiler is on FB again but the post is for closed-group members only so I can't link. Suffice to say Friday next week looks very very interesting indeed (but plot description is only 5 words!)

The group is \link{https://www.facebook.com/groups/435989973172653/\the Official Unofficial Discussion Group} if anyone else wants to join (there is an unfeasible number of Archers discussion groups on FB Grin)

stilllearnin · 17/09/2014 12:48

Next Friday??!! Oh yes that's right. I will be in a field again. Great! Have SWs got access to my diary...or my mind, even?

BitOutOfPractice · 17/09/2014 14:24

theone next fiday's RT plot description has 9 words!!
