How about we immortalise Schrodinger's Baby in the opening paragraph?

How long will this thread last DadDadDad?

Well we do sometimes...

There's less than an hour to 6.50pm.....

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 03/10/2014 17:59

Keri Davies's other job is as a DJ. I always blame him for all the significant snatches of music in the background.

My goodness, you've all been busy today. Another vote for rogering a hobbit, as it were. Grin

unitarian · 03/10/2014 18:04

Why 6.50 pm?

cheminotte · 03/10/2014 18:04

Will had Meg didn't he, and now the new puppy with the almost biblical name.

unitarian · 03/10/2014 18:08

It's OK. I get it now.

I can't wait for this thread to end. It takes ages to load.

PetulaGordino · 03/10/2014 18:12

results are skewed by the fact that we know the predicted time

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 03/10/2014 18:13

unitarian Towards the end of the previous thread DadDadDad produced some statistics on how long we were taking to fill up each thread. At the beginning of this one Pseudo asked him when it would end. He (using advanced technological calculations) came up with 6.50 on 3rd October. (There was a later revised estimate because posting slowed down.) So....

unitarian · 03/10/2014 18:13

I mean farm dogs as in ubiquitous black & white ones! Surely Brookfield has one.

bleedingheart · 03/10/2014 18:14

Roy really annoyed me with his moping like a teenager that had just got chucked. I thought Hayley would realise that Phoebe knew about Liz. I mean teenagers can be irrational but it was clearly an issue with Roy!

I'm not surprised at his 'I'll leave Hayley/It was just a mistake' transition as I think a lot of married men do this. Convince themselves they really love the OW, otherwise they're just risking everything for sex. The hot slap of reality brings them 'round and fortunately for him, Hayley has so far accepted his lies and let him stay!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 03/10/2014 18:14

X'ed sorry!

unitarian · 03/10/2014 18:16

Thanks Zero. I remembered the date but not the time. Thought everyone else was in a different time warp for a while!

Panzee · 03/10/2014 18:18

I just wish Roy would sound a bit more contrite. I know he's convinced himself of the story he told Hayley, but still...

R4 · 03/10/2014 18:23

I loved your description unitarian. It sounded very bucolic, the farmer wending his weary way home with his faithful dog by his side.
Did you spoil it by swearing at the tractor holding you up?Grin

Brookfield used to have dogs, they don't get mentioned so much now.

BasketzatDawn · 03/10/2014 18:29

But Brookfield maybe has less reason for actual sheep dogs now they have given up on sheep.?They did have a much loved dog (whose name I've forgotten - was one syllable I think - but don't believe anything I say on names!!). I wonder if it's gone quietly to the great kennel in the sky - but you'd think there would be lots of weeping and wailing from Ruth if that happened.

bleedingheart · 03/10/2014 18:29

I agree Panzee, he just wants to forget it ever happened without really taking any time to reflect on what he has done. Hayley gets cheated on, effectively loses her job and the family income and he wants to sit and listen to Radiohead. Good grief!

PseudoBadger · 03/10/2014 18:32

Sorry everyone I took DS to the theatre to see Stick Man :o
New thread on its way...

OP posts:
PetulaGordino · 03/10/2014 18:33

it's the adulterer's best case scenario post discovery isn't it (relationship-wise)? move on quickly, stop talking about it, get back to normal asap, pretend it never happened

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 03/10/2014 18:34

Well it is part of the script isn't it. Pretend the affair never happened and then get angry if your wife dates to mention it

PetulaGordino · 03/10/2014 18:34

someone needs to slip "not just friends" by shirley glass to hayley

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 03/10/2014 18:36

Oh I did love stick man! Hope your ds enjoyed it!

BasketzatDawn · 03/10/2014 18:36

I wonder if Hayley really believes the whole story Rota has given her. She is maybe choosing to bide her time.

R4 · 03/10/2014 18:36

Yes, but Roy tried (too hard) to make amends and Hayley told him off. She wanted to try to behave normally so that the DC wouldn't suspect.

unitarian · 03/10/2014 18:45

I don't mind tractors and I usually end up following one for half a mile or so. I also have to wait for herds of cows crossing whichever way I drive home.
It's tourists meandering about that get my goat!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 03/10/2014 18:47

Oooh - there's a NEW thread!

Allons-y!

R4 · 03/10/2014 18:52

It's gone 6:50 so off to the new thread ...
