How about we immortalise Schrodinger's Baby in the opening paragraph?

How long will this thread last DadDadDad?

Borchester news headline

'Coppers girlfriends dad in drugs bust'

Fallon is such an unreasonable and difficult person. If I were pc plot I'm not sure i'd still be interested

Nice to see Hayley being reasonable!! Wonder if she's been googling constructive dismissal.

unitarian · 16/09/2014 19:19

Ooh. Hunt Ball coming up. Is that where beans get spilled?

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 16/09/2014 19:21

Jess will need a new frock.Grin

BitOutOfPractice · 16/09/2014 19:22

I feel so disappointed in Hayley. Has she just forgiven him? It seems she thinks it's all her fault and he's in the clear with her.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 16/09/2014 19:28

Inconceivable that Ruairi wouldn't have had a trust fund, set up by Brian, since his birth.

Interesting listening to Jenny - it's almost as if she wants Brian to beieve she had an affair with Roger Tregorran.

Perhaps an overly neat juxtaposition with home life at Willow Farm?

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 16/09/2014 19:32

That's why I think Hayley will end up having a go at Elizabeth for her unfairness to Roy, when after all it was only a one-off at that other festival & he shouldn't be 'let go' for that

& then Elizabeth will have to tell her about the ongoing smouldering & declarations of love & the scales will fall from her eyes

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 16/09/2014 19:42

Hayley is probably shocked and she is desperate to protect the kids. Blaming liz is her way of getting through it but it won't last.

I'm guessing lizzie will give Roy short shrift and then Hayley will go in all guns blazing

Have to say, he may have been a willing participant but I think both he and hayley deserve a payout. Lizzie seems to have read the book on employment law and decided to do the opposite!

I know someone who was shaggibg her boss and was convinced it was love. She was sacked when he found the new employee more attractive. She got a very good payout. Lizzie hasn't really done anything different.

"Roger" Tregorran? Roger ?

Nah...

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 16/09/2014 21:30

Minimammoth - No one else knows about Elizabeth and Roy.

Susan saw Jess in the shop. She revealed all to Clarrie and they have been gossiping about conception dates. Shock And Helen thinks the school gate mums have been gossiping about it as well.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 16/09/2014 21:32

Is fallon catering for the hunt ball?

TallGiraffe · 16/09/2014 21:51

Came horribly close to flooding the house courtesy of TA today Blush I normally listen to the podcast as I'm normally busy at 7. I started running DS' bath then the theme tune came on and he shouted for me to sit down and listen (he's almost 2 and completely indoctrinated). So I did, completely forgetting about the bath. That has no overflow hole! If it is possible for water to balance above the edge of the bath, it was.

Minimammoth · 16/09/2014 21:58

Thanks zero , I am away at the mo so hard to do catch ups.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 16/09/2014 22:07

If Susan knows then it won't be long before the whole village does (if they don't already!)

I thought Brian being so gushing about Jenny including ruari was really odd. She's pretty much bringing him up isn't she? Once accepted wouldn't you expect her to treat him the same just as Brian does with Adam (it is Adam that's not his isn't it?).

The £5k will come in very handy for Kate when she need to rush back an gloat

Veritata · 16/09/2014 22:10

Freddie is going to be totally unimpressed that Polyesterboy is still infesting LL, isn't he? With any luck he'll throw a megastrop and all the sordid details will come out with Hayley listening in.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 16/09/2014 22:18

...Neither Adam nor Debbie are Brian's biological children.

(In fact, wasn't her DD called Roger?)

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 16/09/2014 22:20

(Sigh) Wasn't her Dad called....

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 16/09/2014 22:22

Roger Travers-Macy!

Jenny's first DH.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 16/09/2014 22:27

Ok - so he's happy to leave his business to his step children but is floored with gratitude that Jen gives her step child £5k?

I'm not sure Hayley needs to hear anymore. She knows but she is trying to kid herself because that's how she can get through it.

Also, lizzie would be pretty stupid to tell her all the sordid details. Their marriage breaking up is not in lizzies interests either and it won't change the level of compensation due.

mummytime · 16/09/2014 22:49

I actually quite liked that bit.
There is a different in treating your step children like your natural children (nice but not over and beyond); and treating the offspring of an affair the same way. Jenny did a lot for Brian (and Siobhan) in bringing up Ruari, she really is magnanimous.
However Brian and Jenny do seem to have reached an understanding. And I liked what Jenny said comparing what she was doing with her money to her mother's plans.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 16/09/2014 22:55

I always like Jenny and Brian's interactions.

I just thought he was a bit too gushing! She accepted ruari knowing the circumstances and I think treating him differently because of it would be wrong. Glad she realised how bad her mums plan is!!!

ErrolTheDragon · 16/09/2014 23:12

I think Brian's 'gushing' derives somewhat from this bequest being her money, whereas he's the traditional breadwinnner/head of the household - a bit of old-fashioned sexism. Though also I think genuine gratitude that it signifies her total acceptance of Rauri - no small commitment to do that at her age. And very wise of Jenny for all sorts of reasons.

Veritata · 17/09/2014 00:25

I did quite enjoy the opening words of the episode - Brian calling JD something like "You wanton strumpet".

PetulaGordino · 17/09/2014 00:33

Byos I think the opposite re fallon and PC plot

He's creepily persistent and she's never been sure of him - it's always been other people encouraging her into it. I wish they'd just let her get on with starting up her business

mrsjavierbardem · 17/09/2014 00:41

Jenny and Brian are good actors IMHO.
But the best actor by far is the one who plays Matt.
Joyously natural actor bravo.
