Re will/lawyer - it didn't sound at all as if she had any thought of contesting the will. She is independently wealthy, I think, and she may well have had joint ownership with John of the marital home, in which case that's still hers - or the proceeds are.

Also, when they talk to each other hey always include he person they're talking to name. People don't do that in real life really do they? Of is it just where I live

Have just listened to the first half of the film.
There is something very fake about Carol - I don't believe she would have laughed at Mungo's name - all her friends will have grandchildren called things like Bombazine and Caduceus. Did anyone else think her laugh was like Miranda's mother's pop song laugh? I can only find the laugh based on but Carol's laugh at Mungo was more like the laugh based on Barbie Girl.

Which episode contained Piggoi clacking her dentures over John Tregorran leaving all his books to Jenny? I heard a bit of it through the earsplitting noise of my family arsing around, but can't remember what day it was. P really is a nasty old haggis, isn't she? The final showdown with Hazel can't come soon enough.

There was some fantastic oo-er missus double entendre stuff going on at the stables, when Shula said that Helen was "really getting the length". Fnarr fnarr. I am both gleefully anticipating and dreading the epi when Rob takes Helen to the horsey outfitters for her own breeches and boots that fit properly ..... it could rival Sid and Jolene in the shwr for shudders.

Johnny and Abbie are good for newcomers and Freddie seems ok. Lily is excellent in her role as chief mime artist. Wouldn't you love it if when lizzie looks at the card closely she sees herself being rogered by a hobbit in the undergrowth!

Carol does sound like she thinks she's in a different production. She just doesn't seem like a proper fictional person!

I'm confused about the mysterious painting and the story behind it - what was the painting of? And what was the story? Just reminded me of a spot of Miss Marple in By the Pricking of My Thumbs.

After some detective work, John discovered that Carol’s mother and father were unmarried artists who had parted when Carol was two. She was then adopted by her mother’s cousin James Grey and his wife Marjorie. They brought her up until they were both killed in the Blitz.

Carol was shocked to learn that her mother Beatrice had painted the picture of the room, which was in the house where they lived."
