How about we immortalise Schrodinger's Baby in the opening paragraph?

How long will this thread last DadDadDad?

The only time I've come across a hunt was on a school trip on public land. They rode through at top speed and knocked a couple of girls over. They couldn't give a fuck and that attitude made me decide I'd be quite happy to see a ban!

As for Charlie, maybe there will be a huge scandal when he is caught digging on the village green

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 25/09/2014 11:37

burying whose body? Wink

ErrolTheDragon · 25/09/2014 11:40

The quad bike is another opportunity for education, isn't it?

ppeatfruit · 25/09/2014 11:43

Well that's terrible but so are motorbikes ,cars, dogs etc. that knock over, kill and injure people No one's above the law. We don't ban cars do we ?

I haven't heard about Charlie lately though (have I missed something?).

mummytime · 25/09/2014 11:44

DH and I were once on a walk on Boxing Day, we were in woodland (on a public footpath) when we heard the hunt (in the olden days). Next thing we knew the fox streaked past us, followed by the hounds. It was a bit scary, and I wouldn't have wanted to be the fox (or to have had small children with me).
I think the fox got clean away and we'd seen more of it than the huntsmen who we met later.

The Quad bike is obviously a public service announcement. Tony seems to have really cheered up though - much nicer to Johnnie than he ever was to Tom.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 25/09/2014 12:30

I meant dogging not digging (damn phone)

It was the arrogance of it tbh. Totally unnecessary to potentially injure someone because slowing down would hurt their fun. Which is ultimately what it is about - whereas a car driver is going from a to b.

ppeatfruit · 25/09/2014 15:12

Horses don't have brakes though BYOS I've seen that recently; a pony ran off with our GD and she couldn't stop her. She was n't very experienced it 's true but horses do what they fancy!

We were nearly injured by a lunatic cyclist not stopping at a pedestrian crossing that was green for us!

PigletJohn · 25/09/2014 15:18

There is a view that a rider should be in control of the horse, and not the other way round.

That applies especially on roads and places that have public access.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 25/09/2014 15:39

We were in the middle of a large area of flat and in high via waterproofs. If you can't control your horse you shouldn't be in a public space.

Don't get me started on cyclists! I have had so many close shaves with red light jumpers.

Anyway, gettibg back to the archers - anyone with a good idea about the slow drainage? Is that all sinkhole related?

Maybe the sw are going for a mass wipeout of the the village and the archers will be relocated to brum with the only survivors - moike and vickoi

pollycazalet · 25/09/2014 15:48

Just caught up on the last couple of episodes. Bleurgh at Helen calling Oliver 'master' and Rob liking the phrase for use at home.

PetulaGordino · 25/09/2014 18:58

Ugh I had forgotten that polly. Grim

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 25/09/2014 19:59

There was a divine CA announcement tonight

I forget the exact wording but it was something about all the mud in the village - then something about other brown stuff (that Charlie may not be full of) Grin

Anyway, they've noticed that Elizabeth is harassed, & that Roy has been seen around the village not wearing his usual smart crimplene slacks; & also Peggy is on the verge of finding out what else John Tregorran left Jennifer. Scandals all hotting up nicely. Radio will be in heaven when she finds out about all this Grin

DadDadDad · 25/09/2014 21:41

Yes, I heard that, TOWTNS, a rather circumlocutory way of saying that Charlie speaks a load of shit from the announcer!

CuttedUpPear · 25/09/2014 23:02

I'm really noticing the austerity measures with lack of characters etc.
How on earth did the SWs come to the conclusion that it would be fine to do a story on Lily's mother having an affair which was discovered by her twin brother, without her featuring in it AT ALL? Confused

PseudoBadger · 25/09/2014 23:04

Hello all! This had dropped off my TIO

OP posts:
PetulaGordino · 25/09/2014 23:11

You are not sufficiently infested pseudo!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 25/09/2014 23:14

Welcome New Poster....

Grin
PseudoBadger · 25/09/2014 23:23

Long time listener, sporadic poster right now :(
Keep up the Oliver sterling work!

OP posts:
CuttedUpPear · 26/09/2014 06:12

Pseudo it had dropped off my TIO as well - I think something weird happened yesterday as it's never done that before, I don't post elsewhere that much.
So I had to go looking for the thread - and found some other posts by R4 saying that they have stopped listening to the radio altogether!
Can this be true? Shock Sad

Icimoi · 26/09/2014 08:25

I don't get why they had Piggoi being so indignant that Jennydarling had bought a new bookcase, even before she knew what it was for. Surely what JD spends her money on is none of her business? Particularly when it didn't apparently bother her when JD spent thousands on the kitchen.

I also don't really get why she's so huffy about her displaying the books. It's not like they've got John Tregorran's name or the words "Wages of sin" blazened across them.

trevortrevorslattery · 26/09/2014 09:21

wages of sin Grin

Poor Heather. If there are any spaces, she could move here - it looks nice and she'd be able to keep in touch with her friends. Surely better than being palmed off to somewhere in Borchester.

PetulaGordino · 26/09/2014 09:24

peggy wants to be the matriarch i think, so it throws her when something happens that she didn't know about (like the tom situation)

R4 · 26/09/2014 09:44

Waves to CUP. I'm still around.
I got very grumpy about this time last year, mainly due to people acting out of character and HWMNBN. It may be a seasonal thing because I am starting to get grumpy again with this six weeks on / six weeks off malarky. I'm forever wondering 'where is xxx, we haven't heard from them in ages'. It destroys the continuity of village life.

I have just come home from a Pet Shop Boys concert. After the final encore, as the lights went up and the audience were filing out, what came over the speakers but Barwick Green! I almost expected to run into Roy and Elizabeth....
