How about we immortalise Schrodinger's Baby in the opening paragraph?

How long will this thread last DadDadDad?

Grin jessie

i'm guessing you must be in asia somewhere given the time?

were there many expressions of recognition (not just of the tune and archers theme, but of the pet shop boys link)?

DadDadDad · 26/09/2014 18:13

Clever you, Petula, web tells me PSB are performing in Hong Kong today

Icimoi · 26/09/2014 19:00

Anyway, gettibg back to the archers - anyone with a good idea about the slow drainage? Is that all sinkhole related?

I assume the bigger picture is that it's going to be what defeats route B, and I suppose it must be sinkhole related unless Borsetshire is suddenly in its own microclimate where it's fantastically wet and the normal rules of evaporation and drainage no longer apply.

Icimoi · 26/09/2014 19:01

I predict this thread will run until 7th October.

I'm saying earlier, particularly if the Roy/Lizzie showdown gives us loads of material for discussion

MrsCampbellBlack · 26/09/2014 19:15

Oooooh good episode.

BoreOfWhabylon · 26/09/2014 19:17

Ooh yes! But why does Phoebe sound so cut-glass?
And wooden. (Cut wooden?)

Stopanuary · 26/09/2014 19:17

A very good episode - and love the CA 'catering size can of worms' quip!

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 26/09/2014 19:18

She's spent far too much time at Home Farm - it's Jennifer's fault

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 26/09/2014 19:20

I'm often wrong about this, but I think that's the same actress playing Phoebe. It's so long since we heard her I can't be sure but there's something familiar about the delivery. Poor kid. Sad

BiscuitMillionaire · 26/09/2014 19:22

"catering size can of works" has to go into the next thread title!

BiscuitMillionaire · 26/09/2014 19:23

*worms

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 26/09/2014 19:26

Yes, lovely CA moment there!

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 26/09/2014 19:31

You're right about the Phoebe actress, Mimsy - it was Lucy Morris in Feb 13

Her delivery has changed though!

ErrolTheDragon · 26/09/2014 19:55

Well, since we last heard from her, Feebs has gained a stellar crop of GCSEs and presumably started 6th form (college? school? what subjects? surely this should have been material for several episodes! Grin) so maybe she's grown up and changed a bit.

LillianGish · 26/09/2014 20:31

Phoebe's definitely going to South Africa now (and she won't even have to mime her departure)

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 26/09/2014 20:33

Interesting to hear how casually close they appear to be despite the age & generation difference

PseudoBadger · 26/09/2014 20:43

Phoebe sounds a bit too Pip for my liking.

Lizzy really is an entitled cow isn't she. Hope she gets done for sexual harassment as I am pretty sure this would be if she were a bloke.

but Roy I don't understand. I shagged you and no i want you to leave. Why can't you just be nice about it?

Not that i have any sympathy for Roy. And why is he not being more attentive to Hailey? It is as if giving her a problem to deal with (his job) is enough. Sorted. That'll keep her busy.

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 26/09/2014 22:21

'you'll get another job easily' seems to be her mantra - on what planet?

'you not having enough money isn't my problem' - FFS

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 26/09/2014 22:27

Do you mean Freddie and Phoebe, TheOne? They've known each other all their lives, as well as being distantly related. Hayley took Phoebe with her to LL when she was nanny to F&L.

polyhymnia · 26/09/2014 22:59

Has Freddie revealed all to Phoebe?

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 26/09/2014 23:08

oh I know, Mimsy - but there were suggestions earlier that because of the age/generation difference they were unlikely to have much to do with each other so Freddie wouldn't be telling her...

ha!

yes he has, poly. Phoebe was very reluctant to accept it as the truth, but he'd pretty much talked her round by the end (he told her that E had admitted it).

he said he had not made up his mind to tell P, but then he saw Roy's car arriving at Lower Loxley; which is ironic because Roy had gone to try to make Elizabeth agree to make him a decent settlement, not to shag her again - which is what Freddie was assuming.

ErrolTheDragon · 26/09/2014 23:34

Thus opening up the 'catering size can of worms' alluded to upthread.

Bluestocking · 26/09/2014 23:35

Poor Phoebe - didn't she See Something Nasty (read adulterous) in the woodshed when she was in South Africa? Now she knows both her biological parents have the morals of alley cats.

PetulaGordino · 27/09/2014 00:33

haven't listened to tonight's episode yet, will catch up tomorrow

i don't watch eastenders but it was on when i was channel hopping earlier and saw both hazel woolley and kate madikane are now in EE!
