New thread for hopefully an exciting Sunday episode. Poor Hayley.

OP posts:
ElephantsAndMiasmas · 12/09/2014 10:40

What is Peggy's problem? I thought although she can be a bit of a cow she's usually one of those old ladies who's all about the clan. What's poor RJ done wrong?

I really don't understand what Rob's thinking is about the hunt. Can't he just go by himself?

unitarian · 12/09/2014 10:47

Note to self - cats are due a trip to the vet. (You can tell from the stench that the cat in the box is alive. Ours always poo whilst travelling.)

Peggy can't bear the idea that her son might be happy about something.

Nothing will happen to Helen while hunting because Rob hasn't yet got title to Peggy's house or Helen's share of the farm. Henry might be doomed though.

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 12/09/2014 10:53

Peggy has problems engaging whenever anybody doesn't fit with her view of Quite The Ticket. This includes gay people and babies with Downs Syndrome, also.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 12/09/2014 11:06

Yes - she was nasty to Bethany wasn't she?

Peggy is Team Tom. It's a bit late now for people to introduce a new contender!

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 12/09/2014 11:25

Yes, the first time Vicky was out with Beth, Peggy blanked them I think because she didn't know what to say. I guess it was meant to highlight problems parents of babies with DS might encounter.

JessieMcJessie · 12/09/2014 11:31

Peggy's OK with Adam and Ian though now isn't she? I don't think she went to their civil partnership ceremony but she's chummy enough with Ian (I seem to recall him helping her out a lot after her stroke) and is fairly grandmotherly towards Adam. Though perhaps it is just self interest as they are good for DIY, food and lifts.

TheOriginalSteamingNit · 12/09/2014 11:42

She is, but she took her sweet time about it!
Don't think she liked the lady vicar, either. But the Rich thing was quite nasty.

trevortrevorslattery · 12/09/2014 11:47

Ha!

songbird · 12/09/2014 12:46

Ooh Peggy's a piece of work isn't she? I was expecting her to say 'well he isn't a real Archer is he?' or similar? She had it aaaaaaall worked out didn't she? First Tom scuppered her plans and now the Great Pretender rocks up. I'd feel sorry for her if she wasn't such a cow. And I was VERY disappointed that Rob was nice to RichJohn, we had predicted the effluent would hit the digester hadn't we? Very nicely done with the hunting though, eh? He works everything into his advantage.

What happened to Ed'n'Jazzers Shearing Roadshow this year? No mention at all as far as I can remember. I am bored to tears of Ed's trials and tribulations - I want him to get a break, not because I give a shit about the character but because I'm so fed up of his moaning!!

ppeatfruit · 12/09/2014 12:49

btw JaznEd were both 'slaughtered' so there's still time for Ed to come down from their 'blue sky thinking;' they'll both have terrible hangovers. Why hasn't Ed mentioned selling to Oliver?????

Ref. Pegg she's an owld bat. Let the kid stay I say Grin

PetulaGordino · 12/09/2014 12:52

rob's cleverer than that. he's already trying to pique RJ's interest in large-scale farming

cheminotte · 12/09/2014 13:21

Thanks trev and Petula

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 12/09/2014 14:59

Ooooh - LOOK! Don't look if you don't like pictures.

"Used to be known as Rich" (soon to be known as even-Richer...)

Hah indeed!

GypsyFloss · 12/09/2014 15:09

Just looked. Elizabeth is exactly as I imagine her, Charlie remains gorgeous and the rest are just plain wrong .

I think Rob hopes to injure/ bump Helen off. Then he'll push RichJohn into the anaerobic digester and adopt Henry. Job done.

stilllearnin · 12/09/2014 15:22

What is all this sudden paranoia of Helen's about? Is she becoming a bit unstable?

HumphreyCobbler · 12/09/2014 15:37

She is very worried they will all know what a nobber Rob is, fathering a child with his ex wife whilst shacking up with his new woman. Not that she can admit that to herself of course.

RocknRollNerd · 12/09/2014 16:57

Peggy was absolutely dreadful, really vile. Her popping Pat's bubble was pretty unforgiveable in particular - she knew damn well what she was doing and that Pat would act as she did.

Helen is looking more and more like she's set for a slide into MH problems isn't she? She is absolutely getting paranoid and losing any sense of perspective over Jess' visit. I know Ambridge is small but as far as I can work out the nursery isn't even in Ambridge is it so why/how the hell mums there would know/care is beyond me.

Am really hoping that Hayley tells Roy to sling his hook tonight and that Vicky shows some solidarity and refuses to let him kip at theirs...

PetulaGordino · 12/09/2014 17:16

yes re helen and MH problems. she mentioned last night that pat had been asking if she was feeling ok and looking after herself. she interpreted it as pat hearing gossip about her, but maybe pat is seeing something else, like helen losing weight?

DadDadDad · 12/09/2014 17:40

I fear the Schrodinger explanation above is missing something. It's not just a philosophical question, as if the fact you don't know if the cat is alive somehow suspends it in a dead/ alive limbo.

He was referring to the specific way that quantum physics describes reality. He theorized a contraption that would convert a probabilistic quantum event (atomic decay or similar) to something easy to observe (a cat's death). Quantum theory describes the atom as in an indeterminate state until it is observed. He was showing how weird that was as in his setup it would mean the cat's life was in an indeterminate state until the moment of the apparently unrelated act of opening the box (observation).

LillianGish · 12/09/2014 17:50

DadDadDad - I feel this thread has reached new heights with your explanation.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 12/09/2014 17:56

So - bets on for tonight? Hayley/Lizzy face-off?

That seems extraordinarily careless of them. We know she's guessed - but it doesn't yet go as far as "discovery".

Someone should write a strongly worded.... tweet.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 12/09/2014 18:13

Whoops - and when they can't even update key things!

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 12/09/2014 18:56

How crap is that

'Oh yes, finding out my h was having an affair was a bit of a low. Oh my fiancé died under a tractor, that was a bit of a low too'

Those are ruddy great life changing events!!

Please do a live commentary of any showdown!!!!
