New thread for hopefully an exciting Sunday episode. Poor Hayley.

OP posts:

Just re-listening - feet not so much under the table but straight into the pigpen. He may have failed his GCSEs but maybe he's not daft....

OddFodd · 09/09/2014 14:28

I do wish the SWs would cut E&E some slack. It's horrible that everything they touch turns to shit while Will gloats happily at Casa Nova. Actually wasn't Charlie a bit horrible to him and expecting him to get 400 birds ready in 4 days or something? And the pheasant shooting starts quite soon doesn't it? Oh goody, perhaps Will will be knocked off his smug perch after all

ppeatfruit · 09/09/2014 14:30

Hasn't Ed got a job from Charlie?

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 09/09/2014 14:31

I'm a little confused. Is RJ supposed to be starting his new college to re-take his GCSEs or to embark on a non-academic course?

Either way I doubt he'll actually go back to Leeds...

Errol I think Pat told him about Tom on the phone a few weeks ago when he phoned to thank them for the birthday money.

PetulaGordino · 09/09/2014 14:31

maybe ed and will could be united in their hatred of charlie

PetulaGordino · 09/09/2014 14:32

ooh...

i think someone mentioned something naaaaarsty happening to charlie... are potential suspects being lined up?

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 09/09/2014 14:32

...maybe pigs will slaughter themselves and drive the truck to market....

ErrolTheDragon · 09/09/2014 14:36

zero - ah, that figures. He doesn't want to go to college so he's going to inveigle himself into Bridge Farm. That'll please his mam, won't it? Hope P&T aren't so delighted by his presence that they forget to point out to him that farmers, esp in a venture like Bridge Farm, also need education... bit late to get into a vocational agricultural course at a Borsetshire college for this year.

PetulaGordino · 09/09/2014 14:39

indeed, and he hasn't had the experience of growing up on a farm and fully understanding what the farming life is like, and an ingrained knowledge etc

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 09/09/2014 14:43

TOWTNS I want to know where you're getting your information....

OddFodd · 09/09/2014 14:47

Yes he has pp. But his milk business is still going down if Mike pulls out :(

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 09/09/2014 14:49

Tbf a year working on the farm could be really good for a non-academic boy. Either he will hate it and realise he needs qualifications or he will really enjoy it and develop from there

All depends on whether richjohn is a good egg or not.

We are being a bit harsh assuming he has dark motives (although with the current sw it seems inevitable)

ErrolTheDragon · 09/09/2014 15:01

His motives may not be dark, but they may well be self-interested - and why not. Could be a win-win (for everyone except Tom). If he genuinely is a nice lad who really prefers to call P&T 'Gran and Grandad' rather than by their names (bit suspicious of a teen doing that...).

Any bets on how soon Rob tries to queer Rich's pitch, because he has his own young Henry's interests in mind?

Abra1d · 09/09/2014 15:20

Has anyone else noticed that Emma is a bit nicer at the moment? Less dog-in-the-manger-ish. The scene last week when she brought Ed his lunch and told him to put his head in her lap (not in that way!) while he lay down to rest during his lunchbreak was quite sweet.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 09/09/2014 15:23

I can imagine a child who has never known his father would be very curious and in a rebelling phase would move towards tht (xref Freddie idolising dear departed Nigel). He's fallen out with his mum so he's trying to make a connection with his dads family.

I just think the sw have written it in a way that makes him sound self interested

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 09/09/2014 15:34

Well I guess not having to worry about where the childrens' next meal is coming from has helped her to a more mellow place.

IIRC she was supposed to be a very attractive personality when she was younger. Apparently very pretty with a lovely voice and an appealing manner. (The original actress graced the London stage and then dazzled Hollywood - think there's a link above.)

I guess things have improved in lots of ways - she's got over Will and Nic being better off, Keira might be easier now, she's broadening her horizons by working with Fallon, which might lead to an improved income. But essentially - she's just better fed than she was before they moved in with her parents.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 09/09/2014 15:46

I've never been a big fan of Emma but they made her bitchy an gossipy which I don't think she always was. It's almost like they're trying to make the Susan for the next generation.

I've never got the hate for will. I think all three behaved badly but if you found out your wife was actually in love with your brother it's going to mess you up.

ppeatfruit · 09/09/2014 15:49

Abraid I reckon the SWs have decided to have one 'happy' family among all the angst. I know we haven't heard from Will and Nick recently ; they may be the next for the angst.

BuildYourOwnSnowman · 09/09/2014 15:54

I think the sw have given ednemmur a false sense of security and lifted their mood so they have further to fall when they inevitably screw them over!

Abra1d · 09/09/2014 16:02

Yes, I wonder about Nic'n'Will!

TheOneWiththeNicestSmile · 09/09/2014 16:39

Zero, nothing insider or sinister - someone posted a pic of the RT spoiler for next week on a FB page Grin

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 09/09/2014 16:58

Ah!

I must be doing something wrong when I click RT. It never seems to give me any information.

ppeatfruit · 09/09/2014 17:03

It does seem as though the SWs or the editor? Have got "No one is allowed to jog along normallyitis".

OddFodd · 09/09/2014 17:46

he was always a wanker byos, way before emmer ran off with ed. Grin

unitarian · 09/09/2014 18:08

I hope RJ has lots of positive redeeming features and isn't the sw's idea of a northern stereotype.

Rob will scoff snidely at his accent and lack of education ( offer him a labouring job and try to push him into the digester) but maybe RJ is the one who is going to see right through to the black heart of Rob.

I wonder how Peggy is going to react to her Great Grandson!
