It's all about the Sons at the moment. Tom is having an identity crisis, Dan is off to Sandhurst, and poor old Adam is working his socks off.
Follow the undulating Ambridge pastures here!

Rob has an iPhone - it's the same ringtone as mine. But I think the text message you get if you've had a missed call is a setting in your voicemails which depends on your phone provider.

TallGiraffe · 05/06/2014 22:38

I am however loving the kitchen storyline!

GypsyFloss · 05/06/2014 23:00

I've missed something important. Where is Rob and where is he supposed to be? Have we heard any fallout ( from Rob) from all of Ambridge suddenly knowing about the engagement.

I wonder how he'd react if Helen was to get pregnant? He fakes it fairly well but I don't get the feeling fatherhood is really his thing.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 06/06/2014 00:34

Y'know, at this time of night, the mind turns to wondering how things might have been if Tom had only turned to Brenda one day and said "let's move to Canada..."

There would still have been pigs admittedly - but Tom would have been less obsessed if they weren't his own, inherited from his brother. They might have been happy. And all the Tuckers could have had outback holidays. And Kirstie could have avoided wasting her life all over again - and maybe stayed friends with Helen (for as long as Helen was allowed friends...) and married Patrick and grown old and happy running the Borcetshire Bird Sanctuary. Instead of stomping through her life muttering "Fifteen years! Fifteen years!" and probably having minor crises in the pork aisles of supermarkets.

Ah well...

I've always thought it fishy that Rob was elsewhere on Valentine's night when Jess turned up at the cottage. Was that just a plot device enable a meeting between H & J or was he doing something nefarious?

Sadly the moment might have passed for 'dipping your boa in the guacomole' to be included in a thread title but I still have a yen for that one.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 06/06/2014 07:00

Zero - Grin

TallGiraffe, me too! We had a builder put his foot through a newly plastered ceiling once too. What laughs!

R4 · 06/06/2014 08:50

Next thread title:
Cereal adulterers? Vets in need of pets? Yes it's the Conference season!

It might need a bit of work : non-TAers wouldn't have a clue what we were on aboutGrin

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 06/06/2014 09:47

Oh of course, it's Friday - Alistair's mystery "thing" (and the warrior's return...)

In the old days the big build up to Friday night always led to a disappointing quarter of an hour.

BoreOfWhabylon · 06/06/2014 12:52

Help! Have been away and unable to listen since Monday night - can someone kindly provide brief synopsis so that I don't have to wait until Sunday?

ppeatfruit · 06/06/2014 13:42

Yes Zero but that would have taken a bit of self knowledge on Tom's part which the new editor decided to give him (in a flagrant character change) and also Bren would've needed to actually WANT to be with him in Canada or anywhere. Grin

LaundryFairy · 06/06/2014 14:48

I've really enjoyed hearing Jenny stand up to Brian lately, especially over the road protest. She has been far too much the surrendered wife in the past. Perhaps Big Steve and Little Steve have also installed a backbone in Jenny whilst working on the Albion.

PseudoBadger · 06/06/2014 17:06

Titles:

How do you fix a problem like The Albion?

There's a hole in my kitchen dear Brian dear Brian

We're on a road through Ambridge

OP posts:
Selks · 06/06/2014 19:15

Mmmmm. Yes. "Jeremy". That is Jess' ring, deffo.

LaundryFairy · 06/06/2014 19:16

Oh Rob!

WhatWouldFreddieDo · 06/06/2014 19:17

Eeew yuck yuck. Do we know how his divorce is going ?

Selks · 06/06/2014 19:17

Awesome titles! Grin Particularly like We're on a road through Albion (sung to Talking Heads tune, "we're on a road to nowhere......")

ButterscotchClouds · 06/06/2014 19:23

Does anybody else cringe at the awful music Rob and Helen always seem to be listening too. Just adds to the whole saccharin, artificial feel that their relationship seems to have.

Lomaamina · 06/06/2014 20:14

butterscotchclouds:"Does anybody else cringe at the awful music Rob and Helen always seem to be listening too."

Yes! I do. Drives me nuts. It's as if they're living their lives by theme music. And so unrealistic. Hellin's the type of mother who'd be tiptoeing around while her little darling was falling asleep.

WillieWaggledagger · 06/06/2014 20:17

yes butterscotch!

rather to my surprise i was right about rob getting the engagement ring when he was AWOL. but i suspect that's not the full story

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 06/06/2014 22:35

What happened what happened??? I was at some awful school thing tonight so unable to listen yet again Hmm

stilllearnin · 06/06/2014 23:19

Rob produced a big shiny thing for H! She was gushy obv. I was a bit miffed that he'd not been up to mischief when he went AWOL the other day- then I realised of course, he still was, just happened to have the ring as well! If it was jess' will it have been altered? Who will spot that for Helen? Hmmm...

Bluestocking · 06/06/2014 23:39

"Jeremy"?
Clearly Jess's ring. Hellin's lucky it didn't have a disembodied ring finger in it.

ppeatfruit · 07/06/2014 09:33

YYY about the music i've always hated that squeaky ending to a vile song "You are so beautiful to meeeeee.......squeak squeak". YUCK YUCK YUCK

Pancakeflipper · 07/06/2014 09:40

I want this Rob thing to gradually build for the next few years. As much as I want to know what the bastard is really up to, it would be a waste to have the story line done and dusted. and cannot face an hysterical broken Helen

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 07/06/2014 09:55

Rob's "big shiny thing" - the cunning face of colonization....
