It's all about the Sons at the moment. Tom is having an identity crisis, Dan is off to Sandhurst, and poor old Adam is working his socks off.

Agree Rob will manipulate Jazzer in some way. The bit at the end 'once in a while' was worth noting!

ppeatfruit · 04/06/2014 13:47

Did anyone notice that EVEN David was manipulated by Knob into feeling 'sorry' for him because the poor fella had to have an "Open Farm Sunday' on the same date as theirs . So Charlie is useful to Knob because no doubt he got the blame for the 'mix up' .

Ref. knitting my dm used to knit for effing England and she refuses to recycle the tons of shapeless cardies that are bunging up her flat so dsis and I will have after she sotmc. So i never really got into it Blush

AllMimsyWereTheBorogoves · 04/06/2014 14:01

sotmc - took me a minute or so but I got there in the end! I can't knit to save my life. I am absolutely handless, as my mother always says (about herself too, to be fair).

OddFodd · 04/06/2014 14:07

God I really wasn't listening yesterday - I thought Lilian was talking about a darling little sailor suit for herself! I did think she might look a wee bit mutton in one :o

stilllearnin · 04/06/2014 14:16

Everyone is rude to my Jazzer. The rob thing was a bit subtle for me(!) I must be losing it! So pat n tone want to build bridges? How will rob handle that one?

ppeatfruit · 04/06/2014 14:29

Yes stilllearnin That knob 'll get his feet under the table and soon get tucked up with Tone and Pat, just you wait (hoists bosom and looks through a lorgnette).

stilllearnin · 04/06/2014 14:47

I had to google that (losing credibility on daily basis) but I've now ordered my very own pair and will join you (playing catch up)

ErrolTheDragon · 04/06/2014 15:40

Just heard it properly. Rob really didn't like that Jazzer had seen him handing out those flyers - beneath his dignity I suppose.

LillianGish · 04/06/2014 16:24

Did anyone else feel there was a slight hint he might have been up to something else that he didn't want Jazzer to see? I thought Hellin not having supper was a nod to her former eating disorder - could that be about to surface again?

ppeatfruit · 04/06/2014 16:40

I just thought ,like Errol that knob didn't like being seen doing something 'demeaning' esp. by someone like Jazzer.

ErrolTheDragon · 04/06/2014 17:17

Lillian - I don't think so re Helen - if Rob had bought two steaks she'd have eaten one. Not yet anyhow... maybe if she starts realising she's losing control of her own life in conjunction with other knobbish behaviours she might be pushed there again.

3littlefrogs · 04/06/2014 17:40

Where is Rob's wife in all this?
Wasn't she pregnant?
I did miss several episodes around the relevant time.

WillieWaggledagger · 04/06/2014 17:49

i'm currently involved in knitting listed buildings in my village. there's an archers-type storyline if ever there was one

ErrolTheDragon · 04/06/2014 18:18

Knitting buildings? Are there photos?

Or maybe Ambridge should aquire some 'guerrilla knitters' or whatever the correct term is - people who secretly adorn a place with assorted knitted items. I was rather taken with the knitted 'lamppost warmers' on a street leading up to the folly in Oban last week. Grin

R4 · 04/06/2014 18:30

I'm very impressed Willie. It definitely beats entering a Victoria Sandwich in the Flower and Produce. Yes to photos!

Errol - is it 'yarn bombing' that you are thinking of?

WillieWaggledagger · 04/06/2014 19:02

yarn bombing does always look fun, but i've never tried that. it would be a nice little intrigue in ambridge

i'm more of a garment knitter tbh - i've rarely done 3D things like toys etc, so this knitting the village thing was very new for me. it's easier than i thought though - the shape of the building is modelled from polystyrene and cardboard, then you do panels in different knitting techniques and colours for the walls, roof etc, and sew them together around the model. i'm doing easy ones (farm buildings - reasonably square and uniform!), but the people who have done the pubs, church, houses etc have done some stunning work!

photos might out me, but i might post some under a namechange after they've been shown at the village fete in a few weeks' time, if you're still all interested!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 04/06/2014 19:13

A date!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 04/06/2014 19:16

... Not the village fete, or Helen and Rob.

LillianGish · 04/06/2014 19:18

Helen didn't eat her dinner - just saying.

WillieWaggledagger · 04/06/2014 19:23

indeed. spaghetti carbonara is an unusual thing for an ex-anorexic to cook too IMO, but i'm sure all are different (and it could also be a 'feeding' thing towards those around her). i may be reading too much into that!

interesting that she didn't just ask him where he was. so she doesn't actually trust him. in a trusting relationship you would just ask where they were i would think

WillieWaggledagger · 04/06/2014 19:23

yy zero, conferences are notorious Wink

mummytime · 04/06/2014 19:24

I'm half waiting for Helen's post in relationships. I've got this hope that they let her be cleverer this time.
Pat has built a bridge which ( if Moany shuts up) might let Helen run to them if necessary. She also knows Rob was lying today. She did sound committed to Organic the other week (at least for the Dairy), if fed up that her Dad was pressurising her.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 04/06/2014 19:31

So much game playing. Rob luring Pat into the cottage to show off their happy family life. Helen - perhaps - giving Rob just a tiny length of rope. Charlie extolling the virtues of cerealism. Adam pretending not to notice...

Fabulous

mummytime · 04/06/2014 19:51

I did love Charlie and Adam. Also that "everyone is your cousin around here" line, was just what you would say in Ambridge.

LillianGish · 04/06/2014 19:55

Can anyone with better recall than me remember the exact wording of Jess's warning to Helen when she came back to Ambridge - something along the lines of her not realising what she was getting herself into?
