Roll up roll up for The Wedding special from Catheter Hall. Is the lark flying high? Will Krusty jam that ring on the porky finger?

Speechless.

Best. Cliffhanger. Ever.

I really don't think he will go through with it.

God, counts down minutes until 7pm tomorrow - I'd better be back from swimming lessons by then.

WHO is the new editor?! They are brilliant. I am so glad I stuck with it through all the Paul and Lillian tripe.

I thought that was really well done. Tom sounded a bit broken.

The continuity announcer...he doesn't sound too hopeful does he?

Well, I think we have indeed been toyed with, as I've been hoping all along. I'd put money on the wedding going ahead tomorrow, with a minute or two of anxiety as Tom arrives a bit late. I was agog there! Very well played, Mr O'Connor. Peggy was just the right person for that tete a tete.

Tomorrow at 7pm I am going to be in the car, hiding in a layby somewhere!

My money is on a no-show followed by a last minute show. Hedging my bets.

I suspect if he told Kirsty all these things she would understand.

Or... if he does call it off beware the Wrath Of Patrick.

The neck-snapping is a portent, I tell you

Yeah she loved him when he was an Eco-warrior, she's a sensible, practical girl and will support his efforts to find himself etc...

... and yes, Waswondering, that 'heir and spare' thing is gutwrenching, isn't it? Beautifully tying up a plotline that started when John died, 16 years ago.

Well that explains why he's seemed so weird and exaggerated all these years.

Slow burn indeed.

Poor Tom :(. That was heartbreakingly sad. Excellent reaction from Peggy I thought - she likes Kirsty, they all do but she came through with the right advice in the end.
I don't think Roy's going to be at all surprised. Sounded like he had started to see what was going on.

Fantastic contrast with Alice and Jennifer too. Alice knows exactly who she is, she's done what she wanted and her life hasn't been clouded like Tom's. Poor, poor Tom and Tony and Pat. All of them living with the shadow of grief for John.

I bloody LOVE The Archers!

Oh, you lot are all "poor Tom" now are you!

Don't make me post links from the last two thread! Grin

Well I know but he's EXPLAINED now......

I'm not 'poor Tom'. I mean I feel sorry for him but you just do not dump someone on the eve of their wedding.

He should have been brave several months ago. And I'm not buying his annoying character is based on him living up to John either.

I'm looking at you all over the top of my glasses

Poor Tom

But mostly, poor Krusty

You're a hard woman, Mrs CB! But I still maintain that he won't dump her. I hope nobody's going to start producing evidence from spoilers that might contradict this.

Oh, and belated thanks to Pseudo for starting the thread and to Zero for the terrific title!

If he's going to call it off, I wish he'd told Alice before they started blowing up all those balloons!

Report
MrsCampbellBlack · 23/04/2014 19:38

I am feeling hard tonight Wink

But Tom is soooo annoying and he has form for treating Kirsty badly.

I wonder how often a jilting happens in real life - I've never known of anyone personally whose called off a wedding so close to the actual date. I just can't imagine how you'd deal with it, all the cancellations, sending back gifts etc

And god, all that wasted money.
