Roll up roll up for The Wedding special from Catheter Hall. Is the lark flying high? Will Krusty jam that ring on the porky finger?

Excellent wifi? Get the radio iplayer and listen to it live on your phone!

orangina · 23/04/2014 21:07

He has to dump her tonight. As we speak.

(am also too infested)

stilllearnin · 23/04/2014 21:22

pear don't be alarmed if I slip into the back seat of your car will you- I am increasingly running out of hiding places. I think there will be a disaster and the wedding will cancel itself, or he will go through with it and Peggy will interject at the just cause etc bit. I still think Tom can be much more appealing with K and she would actually understand him. In fact his crisis could save K from herself.

R4 · 23/04/2014 21:30

I'm not really convinced by Tom's revelations. How can he go from his porcine monomania to "it was all a lie", from one extreme to another?Confused

I think he will dither all night. Then pluck up the courage to dump her at the last minute. Only for Krusty to say "I wanted to see you on your own at the lych gate to tell you ... we're pregnant!!" Then he really is trapped for ever.

CuttedUpPear · 23/04/2014 21:31

I'll be near Bristol Airport if any of you want to join me. Silence guaranteed.

CuttedUpPear · 23/04/2014 21:31

Silence in the car that is - the radio will be tuned to perfection.

HolidayCriminal · 23/04/2014 21:32

My mother was jilted 3 days before the wedding. She volunteered this fact by accident one day, and probably glossed it over. At the time She said It took her only about three days to decide she was better off without him, but I know it's not that simple. One of my dad's love letters to my mom (many months later?) he promised not to be like either her ex-husband or the jilter.

BasketzatDawn · 23/04/2014 21:39

Did Emmur not announce her pregnancy to Will? Ambridge church yard, a place of confession? I can't see it somehow. Surely they can find a different script .....

HolidayCriminal · 23/04/2014 21:42

Ah, but Emma had sicked up her pill due to drinking her woes about the 2 loves in her life; AND she was in her early 20s (high fertility).

Krusty is a lot older & not been getting blotto'd recently.

I think Tom's wavering is absolutely in character but not Kirsty's going OTT about the whole wedding. She just isn't a big white wedding Girl.

I predict they'll go thru with wedding but Tom is going to want to completely change his life after that, and K will be right up for it.

GypsyFloss · 23/04/2014 21:47

Panzee I would but I think it might be a bit rude to have the hairdresser nattering over my head about my holiday plans whilst I've got my earbuds in . I wonder how quickly it'll be up on listen again 'cos I could do that whilst my foils turn me honey caramel...

Tom began to get wobbly once Kirsty turned all her attention to planning the Non-wedding of the year and started hanging out with the world's best wedding planner plus the thinnest bridesmaid ever and her Ribena toting sidekick .

RoseRadish · 23/04/2014 21:58

I think Kirsty's bridezilla panic is because she knows something's not right - like a distraction to keep her from facing the truth. She's obsessed with bad signs and bad luck because deep down she wants it to go tits up - but doesn't realise it.

Maybe she's hanging out with Helen for the same reason! Guaranteed to cause some kind of disaster.

BiscuitMillionaire · 23/04/2014 21:58

I didn't find the chat with Peggoi very convincing. He can't marry K because he doesn't know who she would be marrying? Surely all the stuff about John just means he should have doubts about taking on the farm, not about getting married?

Maybe they're just building up the will he won't he suspense, then he'll come to his senses.

PseudoBadger · 23/04/2014 22:12

They'll get married but will agree to discover the 'new' Tom together - no more sausage empire, he'll go and work on the till at Underwoods or something.

OP posts:
Panzee · 23/04/2014 22:18

Maybe they'll come back from Costa Rica with dreadlocks and a new 'tude. Maybe vegan?

Sunnymeg · 23/04/2014 22:27

Does anyone remember Derek and Mavis' first wedding in Coronation Street? Neither the bride or the groom turned up for it - just a suggestion Wink

ErrolTheDragon · 23/04/2014 22:47

I'm hoping Badger has it right...but rather than Underwoods, they do find some ecowarrior roles for themselves . Leaving P, T and H well and truly in the lurch with the farm and the shop.

But I fear she's wrong and Tom will run away alone to 'find himself'. Sad

Icimoi · 23/04/2014 22:50

None of it really ties in with the person who thought carefully before popping the question, who was really happy when she said yes, and who was going on about how money is no object when it comes to their honeymoon. I did think Piggoi needed to point out to him that everyone has cold feet and he needs to be really, really sure it wasn't just that.

JuniorMint · 24/04/2014 00:05

Will Piggoi still want to leave her money to Tom if he decides he doesn't want to be the sausage heir and instead wants to 'find himself'?

TallGiraffe · 24/04/2014 07:45

Finally listened! Amazing stuff.

As for jilting, one of the women in my factory left her husband on their wedding night, said she knew she didn't want to go through with it but felt she's been caught up in a runaway train of wedding prep and couldn't get off. So sad. It did mean my dad asked me three times in the car on the way to the church whether I was sure I wanted to go ahead with my own wedding Grin

WillieWaggledagger · 24/04/2014 07:50

I can't call it on how the wedding is going to play out (despite having seen the cast list for next week). But I am looking forward to tonight!

WillieWaggledagger · 24/04/2014 07:55

How weird, the jilted thread has disappeared for me. It worked last night but now just links to the biscuit

WillieWaggledagger · 24/04/2014 08:12

has just dawned on me the jilted thread was in chat and must have expired. what a shame

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 24/04/2014 08:32

It's THE DAY.....

Perhaps the disappearance of the jilted thread is an omen?

I wish I was in Ambridge this morning.

HumphreyCobbler · 24/04/2014 08:50

I actually had a stressy wedding dream Shock. I was upset because my pink nail varnish was a crappy pink colour, and the weather was shit and no one wanted to stay for a meal and I shouted at my BIL. I woke up sweating.

I blame this thread Grin I haven't even listened to last night yet!

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 24/04/2014 09:10

Gosh, that's spooky! (Expiration of the Jilted thread, that is.) I hadn't noticed the date on it when I posted that link. Can there be a more ominous omen than that? Or does it perhaps portend that while yesterday jiliting was on the menu, today all thoughts of jilting are gone?
