Roll up roll up for The Wedding special from Catheter Hall. Is the lark flying high? Will Krusty jam that ring on the porky finger?

Did Tony tell Peggoi, that's enough? Or something similar?

BoreOfWhabylon · 25/04/2014 19:23

There is one photo Olivia

But she is answering questions on Twatter now and I can read it even though I don't do twattering

makoshark · 25/04/2014 19:24

Hello, by the way - I've been lurking on these threads for weeks a couple of days Grin

HumphreyCobbler · 25/04/2014 19:24

There is a photo of Kirsty but she looks just right so it is ok

I couldn't type during that due to feeding the inconveniently awake baby, so frustrating!

Tom was brilliantly written, guaranteed to make us all hate him even more. His lack of understanding of what he has done explained why he could do such a thing in the first place.

ExcuseTypos · 25/04/2014 19:24

I wondered that too mak, but DH thinks she said something like "well said" Confused

LillianGish · 25/04/2014 19:25

Twitter far too annoying and brief for any worthwhile analysis.

BoreOfWhabylon · 25/04/2014 19:27

Hello Mako! These threads are addictive!

HumphreyCobbler · 25/04/2014 19:27

He really copped it, didn't he?

I thought Tony enjoyed the ability to finally sum up all that was wrong with Tom's character a little too much for a loving father.

Also particularly enjoyed Kirsty managing a dig about Rob while she was at it.

BoreOfWhabylon · 25/04/2014 19:29

I cpntinue to have high hopes for Kirsty and Patrick. He has lurved her for years too.

Must say new Editor has given things a bit of a lift. I listened to him earlier and liked what he had to say.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 25/04/2014 19:29

I've just said to my daughter (22, non-Archers listener, inclined to be a bit superior about my habit - ha! give it time) that if she is ever about to get married and has doubts, she should feel free to confide in me and she should feel confident that I won't expect her to take on the mantle of a deceased sibling crushed in a freak tractor accident. She didn't seem to find this as noble a gesture as I had meant it to be.

Ewieindwie1 · 25/04/2014 19:31

Tried to watch Twitter thing but actually quite frustrating and shallow. Instead content to ponder the way I disliked Tom and yet feel pity for him. His own mother didn't really listen to him and though Tony was right I suppose, shouldn't someone have listened? Hope my mum would stick up for me.... Think I would for DD.

Will Tom run? Hurt himself?

makoshark · 25/04/2014 19:31

Agreed Humph - and I didn't like him saying that John would be ashamed. Very low.

Tony hasn't come out of this well. His remarks to Peggoi, saying - you see what he's like now - see what I've had to put up with?

Kirsty had a great go at Hell Queen. Lots of chickens coming home to roost.

LillianGish · 25/04/2014 19:32

Important to make those points to your dd though Mimsy Grin

Kernowal · 25/04/2014 19:33

Poor drowning in questions Twitter, but she says she hopes Kirsty does b't leave.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 25/04/2014 19:33

That remark about John was just awful - I cringed. I do feel sorry for Tom but he has behaved very badly. Well done to Joanna Toye, this week's scriptwriter! She can always be relied on to remember the history of all the families.

EverybodysStressyEyed · 25/04/2014 19:33

I think he is depressed and so isn't capable of explaining himself or empathising fully.

I feel for Tom because the way his parents go on it is like he was a worthless second and the only way he could think to get their approval was to become John. What must that do to you mentally when even then your parents still compare you unfavourably no matter what you do.

As for Kirsty, it is the worse thing that could happen to a bride short of the groom dropping dead at the alter.

Ewieindwie1 · 25/04/2014 19:33

You've summed it up Humphey, Tony enjoyed that little rant. Savage pleasure. Hmmm dubious.

Are we all going for a sandwich at the bar laid on by Roy?

HumphreyCobbler · 25/04/2014 19:34

I was wondering about Tom hurting himself. First I thought someone so self satisfied wouldn't possibly, but then I thought that maybe he has even shocked himself (he certainly seemed to deflate during the course of that horrible but deserved lynching. So maybe that will leave him vulnerable?

Kernowal · 25/04/2014 19:34

Should say poor Annabel is drowning on Twitter, but she says she hopes Kirsty doesn't leave.

BoreOfWhabylon · 25/04/2014 19:34

He will spend a lot of time talking with the vicar and St Smugula, go spectacularly off the rails, and end up in the Grundy Rehab Shed.

HumphreyCobbler · 25/04/2014 19:36

I do think the SW have done an excellent job with the Tony/Peggy/Tom relationship story arc.

TypicaLibra · 25/04/2014 19:36

Having to pay for the wedding / deposit will bankrupt him and he'll have to move to Meadow Rise.

Ewieindwie1 · 25/04/2014 19:36

I fancy a stay at 'The Shed' - bet the cider would be strong and the conversation a bit frisky!

MrsCampbellBlack · 25/04/2014 19:37

Loving Mimsy!

Tom is very very immature isn't he? Its like Tom and Helen never developed at all emotionally beyond about the age of 13.

I was glad that Peggy told him off to - ok, sometimes it is brave to stop things but he should have done it the night before and allowed Kirsty some dignity.

But personally if I was a guest, I wouldn't think she was 'humiliated' I'd think that Tom was a total git though and just feel that she'd probably had a very lucky escape.

I did gasp at the 'John' bit. But then we all say things in anger that we wouldn't say in our rational moments so it actually made it feel more real to me.

WillieWaggledagger · 25/04/2014 19:37

i think tony went too far there
