Roll up roll up for The Wedding special from Catheter Hall. Is the lark flying high? Will Krusty jam that ring on the porky finger?

here you go kirk

Somewhere in the ruckus which must now happen, do you think they'll put young Rich back into play? Tom was merely the regent, surely Rich is the true heir.

In that US-aimed piece, like the description of Rob as a 'quiet monster'. He's probably the one person in Ambridge who is delighted by all this... Helen will be alienated from both Tom and Kirsty, and he'll have the perfect example of why you shouldn't plan to get married, certainly not quickly.

Martorana · 25/04/2014 13:56

"someone just pointed out on the facebook page that Alice, being an engineer, would have been entirely aware of the properties of helium balloons v ordinary balloons"

But she's a girl engineer- of course she doesn't know things like that............

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 25/04/2014 13:57

Errol, Keri Davies has said this in the comments under the blog piece about John: 'I'm sure Rich has been invited. We haven't forgotten him. In our terms, that story has been 'plateau-ed'. Rich is up there in Leeds and could make a visit at any time.

There's only 12 minutes of dialogue per day. We can't run every story all the time.'

He posted that yesterday lunchtime, so unless he's being massively disingenuous (not impossible!) it looks as if the new editor has decided that Rich is a storyline he can afford to ignore for the foreseeable future. Fine by me as I always felt that SL was disappointingly handled before. Brilliant idea, not well executed.

ErrolTheDragon · 25/04/2014 14:01

TA timescales being what they are, and Rich still being young, it'll be a few years while this dust settles before the Heir to the Sausage Empire takes his rightful place. Grin

I can never get over the fact that Helen and Tom didn't want to know RIch due to concerns over the inheritance. They really are vile.

HumphreyCobbler · 25/04/2014 14:09

I am listening to it again. I am a glutton for punishment.

stealthsquiggle · 25/04/2014 14:12

Glad to know that I am not the only one, Humphrey Blush

HumphreyCobbler · 25/04/2014 14:13

Kirsty is acting brilliantly

Abra1d · 25/04/2014 14:15

Me too. Kirsty's final scream . . .

HumphreyCobbler · 25/04/2014 14:16

I think it is the reverb they put on the wail that makes it sound over the top. Without the echo I think it would have sounded more realistic. It is the sound of total grieving disbelief.

ErrolTheDragon · 25/04/2014 14:21

Damn... meant to listen to the repeat. May just have to do it via iplayer, which isn't quite the same somehow.

Minimammoth · 25/04/2014 14:26

Just caught up. Who is paying for this lot? Tom, Peggy? Bet Rob will be gloating.
Well, < rubs hands> what next?

Icimoi · 25/04/2014 14:27

I really don't buy this stuff about Tom suddenly deciding he didn't know who he was. It doesn't tie in with the sausage king we have known and disliked all these years - I just don't believe anyone could get so bound up with his business, and indeed almost monomaniac about it, if it didn't come naturally.

stealthsquiggle · 25/04/2014 14:34

But the scream was echoey because we were hearing it from the Grundys' point of view, surely?

Panzee · 25/04/2014 14:43

I listened to the repeat. I cried when she screamed, it sounded as though her soul was being torn apart. Poor Kirsty. :(

HumphreyCobbler · 25/04/2014 14:52

the church was full of people, it wouldn't echo! sounded all wrong

teenybash7 · 25/04/2014 15:00

De-lurking after following the last few threads. I've been happily listening to TA omnibus for about 30 years, first by taping it and then by downloading. Then this week, wound up by YOU LOT, I've been listening in every day! Last night, I even, (shock, horror), started wondering how the wedding was going during aerobics when usually the only thought in my head is 'Oh god, I'm getting too old for this - will I make it to the end?'

So you see what you've done? (Am slightly concerned that I enjoy this thread as much as the programme itself!)

PseudoBadger · 25/04/2014 15:02

I keep picturing Hugh Grant getting punched in 4 Weddings

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 25/04/2014 15:26

Kirk1 You've made me smile.

And you're going to enjoy TA so much more once you've delved into the archives...

So did you actually listen last night (iPlayer?) teeny?

LillianGish · 25/04/2014 15:49

I definitely enjoy this thread as much as TA itself. My dcs, as well as knowing they have to be completely silent for 13 minutes (and reminding me when it's 7pm if I occasionally forget) now pass me the iPad when they hear the closing theme tune Blush

Abra1d · 25/04/2014 15:57

It'll be the mop-up tonight. Hellin comforting her-nearly-almost-sister-in-law.

Did Kirsty break the pearl necklace? Next thing'll be that someone will slip on a pearl in the vestry and break a bone.

OldBeanbagz · 25/04/2014 16:13

I thought i heard the tinkle of pearls hitting the floor. Or maybe it was the ice cubes in my g&t? Grin

Abra1d · 25/04/2014 16:15

I'm having a G&T tonight when I listen!

ErrolTheDragon · 25/04/2014 16:33

Just re-listened - definitely the tinkle of pearls accompanied by a 'normal' sort of aurghhh which changed to the echoey, as if from a distance, version heard by the grundies.
