Will this thread make it to the wedding? Will it outlive Tony?

Oh yes, definitely Kenton on the train. Perhaps Jazzer thought it was the only way to divert Rob's evil attentions from Tom.

cheminotte · 27/03/2014 16:54

I'm 37 and have been listening to the Archers and R4 for over 10 years. The best ever leaving present I've received from a job was a 'Best of Just A Minute' CD.

MikeTheShite · 27/03/2014 16:55

I'm 24, and my nan used to be a followerSmile

GrendelsMum · 27/03/2014 17:33

It must have cost Rob a fortune to spike all these drinks.

florencedombey · 27/03/2014 17:37

I'm 38 and have been listening for 20 years. I started at university because I grew up near Borsetshire and TA reminded me of home ;-)

TallGiraffe · 27/03/2014 17:40

I completely agree about the lack of discussion of pregnant Ruth doing all that lambing, it must be significant.

But, I've just found out today I'm pregnant with number 2 and really don't want a miscarriage/birth defects/stillbirth storyline. Selfish I know Grin

florencedombey · 27/03/2014 17:48

Congratulations, Tallgiraffe Thanks

GypsyFloss · 27/03/2014 17:54

Yay, another Archers baby Smile Congratulations TallGiraffe

LillianGish · 27/03/2014 18:00

I've been listening independently since the age of 18 - my room mate and I never missed the omnibus at university (except on one Remembrance Sunday when we forgot it started an hour earlier!) and consulted our mums for historical background. Consequently have always thought of myself as a younger listener though realise we are now older than our mums were then - a sobering thought. Have semi-converted dh though he occasionally makes irritating remarks like "It's not real you know" if I'm discussing some plot twist too enthusiastically which is why I'm so delighted to have discover this thread (and it's predecessors). Dare I say it, I'm almost enjoying this thread as much as The Archers itself.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 27/03/2014 18:40

Congratulations TG!

WillieWaggledagger · 27/03/2014 18:51

congratulations tallgiraffe!

stealthsquiggle · 27/03/2014 19:10

Going to have to mark my place for the moment...

nauticant · 27/03/2014 20:05

Yes, the meeting of Brine and Ian's dad before the civil partnership ceremony was an utterly marvellous scene.

Ahh, Westending with Party Fears Two as fantastically cool theme music.

For Friday night listening I'm quite a fan of Radio 3 after 10pm. There is often stunningly different music to listen to.

ErrolTheDragon · 27/03/2014 20:16

Oh.... PC Plot heaves into view again. Presumably Fallon will have to contact him again re her purse which will have been stolen by now.

I did like the way Jolene dealt with poor Kenton. Grin

nauticant · 27/03/2014 20:19

Bah, not Westending but Weekending.

JollyGolightly · 27/03/2014 21:29

Excellent news, TG. Are you looking for name suggestions yet?

HumphreyCobbler · 27/03/2014 21:42

Congratulations TG. I am looking at six month old baby Cobbler, he is def an Archers baby as the theme music always gets his attention Grin

ComeIntoTheGardenMaud · 27/03/2014 21:57

Congratulations, TallGiraffe!

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 27/03/2014 22:04

Congratulations TallGiraffe :) Who'se due first, Rooth or you?!

ColdTeaAgain I'm "only" 30 :)

Have been up to my ears in parents' consulations at school the last two nights so missed tonight and came in half way through yesterday's. I very womanfully didn't stay in the car to finish off the epi, but when I got in found DH was listening anyway! Hurrah!! I have worn him down!!

guineapiglet · 27/03/2014 22:28

congratulations Tall Giraffe
lots of Brew now and no more Wine !! Grin

I do think PC Burns has a yummy voice! lucky old Fallon.....staying at Hellins tonight so will get the inside gen on Rob....

ColdTeaAgain · 27/03/2014 23:16

Ah florence and Lillian that's so lovely :) I really hope The Archers keeps going strong, I'd love to say I've been a fan for 20 years one day!

Great to see that so many people around my age listen, not that it matters one jot but it gives me smug satisfaction to tell DP about you all Grin although I think he has gave up the fight a while ago!

Congratulations TallGiraffe, hoping Ruth's baby storyline is a happy one too :)

justiceofthePeas · 28/03/2014 01:36

I was wondering if titch knob is going to make some kind of deniable pass at Fallon which will cause a rift between her and Hellin.
He is enough of a twat.

TallGiraffe · 28/03/2014 06:38

Thank you all Flowers Very excited. Ruth's due first and as DC1 shares a name with an Archer child, it's probably a good thing we'll know what they call their baby first. Two Archer names could start to sound obsessive I think Grin
