Will this thread make it to the wedding? Will it outlive Tony?

OP posts:
WillieWaggledagger · 21/04/2014 16:18

i think you're probably onto it there MrsCB. i don't think this marriage is right for either of them but i also don't want kirsty to be the one who's dumped!

WillieWaggledagger · 21/04/2014 16:18

might we need a new thread before the wedding?

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 21/04/2014 16:20

If the wedding is very exciting, we are likely to need a new thread just for that! Pseudo, are you on standby? Anybody got any good name sugggestions?

MrsCampbellBlack · 21/04/2014 16:26

It was the heavy handed bit with Kenton particularly - all the 'homely' stuff and implication that him and kirsty lacked chemsitry.

Actually I think it would be best if Rob does tell Kirsty that Tom has been having doubts and she dumps him and goes off and finds someone nice.

But I see more drama in Tom jiliting her and then Pat and Tony having to rally round and defend him from the villagers with pitchforks.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 21/04/2014 16:33

Oh dear, I've just belatedly put two and two together. Sean O'Connor on Feedback the day after the wedding! I hope we won't be needing for the pitchforks for him...

GypsyFloss · 21/04/2014 16:43

I think this all sounds horribly possible. I am also worried about Kirsty dying suddenly. I hope they wouldn't do that to the family but I'm not convinced. I definitely feel that all the vibes so far are that Kirsty is not going to be a happily married wife.

GypsyFloss · 21/04/2014 16:43

I think we need a wedding day special thread Grin

BasketzatDawn · 21/04/2014 17:02

Let's just hope there is some surprising twist in it all. It's quite a change from the NigelDoom saga when we knew for weeks beforehand what was happening. This time at least they've been more professional about it.

Maybe we could just start a new thread on wedding day. Whoever is up first on Thursday can do it if Pseudo isn't around?

Thing is traumas do happen more than once to families. I know a family where one son died in a road accident, another died of heart disease not long after. Both in early 20s. Other son and parents have never recovered properly, 2 decades later. I know there are lots of other examples.

GypsyFloss · 21/04/2014 18:43

I agree Basketz , I wonder whether the writers would want to go down that road again though.

Selks · 21/04/2014 18:47

When is the wedding?

GypsyFloss · 21/04/2014 19:08

Thursday. Allegedly...

Selks · 21/04/2014 19:09

Aaargh Tony is so self-centered and mono-focussed...I can see where Tom gets it from! I feel for Tony sometimes as he does have a raw deal from Peggy but honestly he does bring misery on himself!

GypsyFloss · 21/04/2014 19:14

This is getting worse. The fact that they are talking through the ceremony really hints at no wedding on Thursday. I'm not sure I can listen to it.

orangina · 21/04/2014 19:14

Aurgh! I am listening and can't bear it!

(Hi-jacks thread)

Northernlurker · 21/04/2014 19:15

This is ghastly. Tom sounds like he's going to throw up at any minute. So when will he call it off?

Selks · 21/04/2014 19:15

Oh dear.......

orangina · 21/04/2014 19:16

There really ISN'T going to be a wedding on Thursday, is there?

(Have only walked in half way through tonight's episode and missed last night's.... must catch up now)

GypsyFloss · 21/04/2014 19:16

A wedding should fill me with happiness but this just fills me with dread. The bastards Grin

RhinestoneCowgirl · 21/04/2014 19:16

Tom just sounds so unenthusiastic about the whole wedding, poor Kirsty Sad

CuttedUpPear · 21/04/2014 19:16

This whole rehearsal episode bodes ILL I tell you, ILL!

orangina · 21/04/2014 19:19

What's going to happen to The Dream Home if they don't get hitched? And how will bonkers Hellin react?

GypsyFloss · 21/04/2014 19:20

Unless, clutching at straws here, we hear Tom having second thoughts but then it cuts to Alan pronouncing them man and wife. That way we've heard quite a lot of the soppy stuff, rather than the whole episode ending the the ceremony.

Other scenario is that one of them becomes seriously ill and Alan says that as they did half the vows they are almost married.

GypsyFloss · 21/04/2014 19:22

orangina I suspect the secretly Hellqueen would be pleased as it would mean she could take Top Bride position .

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 21/04/2014 19:22

Surely, surely that was the music playing as James Bond drove off with his bride. Am I wrong? (My film knowledge is rubbish but it's the only time I've ever felt anything in a JB film...)

It is all rather too much. We definitely won't hear the marriage ceremony again...

On a cheerier note it was marvellous to hear the church organ again on Sunday.

Halsall · 21/04/2014 19:22

I'm really getting fed up with all the hysteria, and Kirsty IMHO is acting completely out of character. She's always seemed jolly and no-nonsense to me - not at all the type to melt into a puddle at the mention of engraved wedding rings and bloody chair-garlands, whatever they are.

Mind you, given that we had a grand total of 8 guests at our wedding, and I prepared the meal which we had at Mum and Dad's house before going home (and back to work) the next day, I guess I'm the wrong person to swoon at the idea of mammoth over-the-top weddings....
