Will this thread make it to the wedding? Will it outlive Tony?

If there's an Ambridge apocalypse, I'm saving Lynda Snell.

GypsyFloss · 19/04/2014 10:03

Good call, she's rather resourceful and would have a plan I'm sure.
I'd like to add in Neil too. I can't believe I'd forgotten him!

WillieWEggledEgger · 19/04/2014 11:03

alice notices that fallon is such a terrific cook eh? my spidey senses are tingling...

GypsyFloss · 19/04/2014 11:21

And luckily there will be trestle tables and a random plant stand available...

WillieWEggledEgger · 19/04/2014 11:39

poor ole jazzer. how friendly are he and dan? i thought there was some kind of unwritten rule about not hitting on someone your friend really fancies or something. and then rubbing their nose in it a bit by saying that you're going back to hers

WillieWEggledEgger · 19/04/2014 11:40

quite gypsy, and all those cakes from the GABO going spare...

GypsyFloss · 19/04/2014 12:25

So that's a proper afternoon tea in the village hall all sorted. Bring it on Grin

Bluestocking · 19/04/2014 12:39

Maybe the owner of Catheter Hall, a nice-but-dim man with a range of unusual enthusiasms and a tolerant wife, will decide to go up on the roof for some unlikely reason - perhaps egged on by a macho brother-in-law? - just as Krusty arrives with Kranford Krystal. He will lose his footing and slide slowly but inexorably towards the edge of the roof and ..... AAAAIIEEEEE!

InTheMiddleOfOurStreet · 19/04/2014 13:04

I felt that Christianity was being rammed down my throat.

Oh come on, it was Good Friday! Besides, I think that Alice's gloating over her pics with her Hot Jesus husband tempered the piety somewhat.

WillieWEggledEgger · 19/04/2014 13:30

I think that there was a reasonable mix of piety and irreverence. I'm not sure that many of those putting on the play were regular churchgoers anyway, so typical C of E!

BasketzatDawn · 19/04/2014 14:23

Ach, the term 'aggressive atheist' was probably coined with me in mind and there has been a lot about Christianity on the radio this week. But it's Easter, innit. It really doesn't bother me. Though my mind may have switched off a bit during last night's episode - i'll try to be awake for the 'film' tomorrow.

PocketFluff · 19/04/2014 14:45

I mostly listen now on my phone on iPlayer and there are often interesting snippets from the end of the news at the start of the 'recording'. Yesterday's was the best yet -

"while the police dealt with large piles of anchovies."

???

WillieWEggledEgger · 19/04/2014 14:45

Yes I heard that pocket!!

TaurielTest · 19/04/2014 14:48

Is anyone else getting this bizarrely-targeted bovine ad - presumably as a result of the multiple mentions of "cow" in the title? ConfusedGrin

If only Borsetshire Council had been as on-the-ball as some, we could have been spared the Passion Play completely... www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/home-news/oxford-city-council-apologises-after-passion-play-it-mistook-for-live-sex-show-is-cancelled-9269414.html

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 19/04/2014 14:51

This story?

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 19/04/2014 14:54

Sorry, my link above is about anchovies. Jaw hanging open at that Oxford story!

PocketFluff · 19/04/2014 14:58

I think so Mimsy - that's what I found when I had a google.

Oh dear, my search history is bizarre at the best of times...

Sunnymeg · 19/04/2014 17:11

Alice said she had to get shirty with the wedding venue people. I wonder if she has got so shifty they have decided to cancel the booking. either that or they have double booked and they won't be able to honour the booking and Fallon and her distressed tables will come to the rescue.

GypsyFloss · 19/04/2014 17:32

Double booking sounds plausible.

TaurielTest · 19/04/2014 17:39

Double-booking perhaps - though if they get cancelled on by Catheter Hall, it won't make all their financial worries go away surely, what about all the money they've committed on non-matching chair garlands, bejewelled reins for Cranford Crystal and the like?

I thought the phone call might have been to say a credit payment had been declined...

Having to sit through the resurrected resurrection in the omnibus now - Shula is a massive twat.

I don't agree with the bias on Christian activity in the village. It's unrealistic. Bearing in mind that almost everything that happens in Ambridge has alsi happened in my village - down to suicidal gamekeepers and disappearing female vicars - there is just no way I can see this storyline fitting into an English rural village.

Please post details of your village's crucifixion reenactment here

Why is Alice a wedding planner anyway when she & Chris eloped?? What would Alice know about it? My dad was my wedding planner & he was excellent at it because he had officiated at very many. Confused

I don't think Tom dumped K. I recall Kirsty breaking up with Tom because Tom was cheating with Lauren during one of the Xmas plays (pantos?). Tom has cheated on every girlfriend he had except Brenda (bad portent for K).

I thought K was so very down to earth, all this wedding drama is weird.

ErrolTheDragonsEgg · 20/04/2014 11:28

That was part of the reason for it - because she'd missed out on it for her own wedding.
