Will this thread make it to the wedding? Will it outlive Tony?

I am bumping too. Not caught up on this wks esipodes.

JohnFarleysRuskin · 18/04/2014 07:50

Is that PC plod meant to be charming? He sounds like a lunatic!

LarkrisetoAmbridge · 18/04/2014 09:24

Lady, I bow to your superior knowledge.

In my mind I have an 80's picture of land-agents being the "nice but dim" types who went to public school - "Sherborne?" "No, Uppingham rah rah", but i'm sure these days they more the spreadsheet and key-performance-indicators types.

JohnFarleys - where did PC Plod get those chat-up lines? Naf or what!

PseudoBadger · 18/04/2014 10:16

Yes MrsC that sounds possible. Will it be before or after the wedding?

For Charlie I'm thinking brand new (not worn in from years of outdoor wear and covered in dog hair and possibly sheep poo) Barbour wax jacket

Sunnymeg · 18/04/2014 13:19

PC Plot has fallen for Fallon big time, but has no idea how to start a conversation or anything else with her. I felt really sorry for him.

ErrolTheDragonsEgg · 18/04/2014 17:52

Charlie sounds neither like a public schoolboy not a rural type(unless possibly Essex agribusiness?).

Just checked the cast list, he's being played by Felix Scott ... yes, could see him in the barbour and range rover

StandsOnGoldenSands · 18/04/2014 18:50

Marking place ...

Feels as though the new editor is really trying to systematically undermine every underpinning of the village, one by one. Brian being ousted? Radical move!

GypsyFloss · 18/04/2014 19:10

Is this the first hint of trouble at Catheter Hall?

WillieWEggledEgger · 18/04/2014 19:11

When Kirsty kept asking if people could hear something I wondered whether she was hearing the sound of the catheter hall ballroom ceiling caving in. Was sadly wrong

WillieWEggledEgger · 18/04/2014 19:12

Bloody hell I didn't realise the time! I'm sitting on my arse missing the archers!!

GypsyFloss · 18/04/2014 19:14

Yes Willie is that an earthquake I hear?

Is that a deliberate May the 4th pun there?

Selks · 18/04/2014 19:17

Oh no, I've got a doomy feeling about Kirsty and Tom's wedding...it's going to go horribly wrong somehow, isn't it?

BasketzatDawn · 18/04/2014 19:21

I thought, briefly, maybe she/Kirsty was having a psychotic episode ..... I wonder tonight if we will find Tom is less keen than his Gran on Kirsty.

I realise now why Shula annoys me so much - she reminds me of my mum at her worst ....

I don't think we are supposed to like Charlie - he creates the stereotypical 'conflict of the moment'. I'm sure he has an MBA.

GypsyFloss · 18/04/2014 19:22

It certainly seems to be headed that way doesn't it Selks

BasketzatDawn · 18/04/2014 19:32

Yeah, too many warnings of doom, I think. In a sense I hope they don't chicken out and let it be another damp squib. But I feel sad for Kirsty. She is portrayed as not super-confident, I think, in her appearance especially. Has Tom been heard to pay her many complements?

Selks · 18/04/2014 19:34

It was moving to hear Kirsty getting emotional when people were being nice to her tonight Sad

I do hope it's not something awful such as Tom jilting her at the altar...

GypsyFloss · 18/04/2014 20:35

I hope not too, given that he's already dumped her once before. I hope that if there is a showdown that it's her doing the dumping. Although what I really hope is that they have a heart to heart and postpone the whole thing.

FunLovinBunster · 18/04/2014 21:25

Dump her! Dump her! Come on Chipolata Kid grow a pair and get rid!
I'm hoping a weapon of mass destruction will fall and take out the entire population of Ambridge, apart from Adam and Ian who are the only likeable people on the damn show.

pasbeaucoupdegendarme · 18/04/2014 22:19

Oh I sodding missed it! I was thoroughly convinced it was Saturday... I even asked dh if Gardeners' World was on iplayer only to have him give me a dirty look and tell me what day it was...

you'd never think I am only 30: TA, GW and amnesia...

CuttedUpPear · 18/04/2014 23:43

I didn't like tonight's episode. I felt that Christianity was being rammed down my throat.

And Shula needed pushing into a hedge.

Bluestocking · 18/04/2014 23:46

I thought it was rather good (although I didn't particularly enjoy it). St Smugula and Piggoi both displaying their repulsive brand of Christianity, while St S tries to make her son feel that he doesn't know his own mind, just as Piggoi always does to poor Tony.

GypsyFloss · 19/04/2014 08:17

I thought it was quite funny that Piggy thought Alice's friends would be interested in the religious aspect of yesterday when all Alice wanted to do was boast about how hot her Chris looked in a loin cloth.

I'd like the nuke to take out all of them bar Ian and Brian.

PseudoBadger · 19/04/2014 08:31

I loved the inappropriateness of the "look at me with hot Jesus" conversation in front of Peggy :o

Exactly!
