Will this thread make it to the wedding? Will it outlive Tony?

I think Borchester Land has some ideas about the Mega Dairy - and probably not to Robs benefit.

ErrolTheDragonsEgg · 15/04/2014 23:39

I expect there will be some problem and Rob will conveniently but unfairly blame Adam and expect Helen to take sides.

stilllearnin · 16/04/2014 13:04

My problem is that I still think that the good people will save the day. So yes rob will blame Adam and helen will side with rob. Ian and adam make a good team though and they will after a wobble come back from the brink of cutting off their friendship with Helen. Also Rob will be vile under pressure. I have nothing to do with the business world and so I am really enjoying this storyline!

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 16/04/2014 21:30

Gosh, is everybody away this week? Or is it just that so little of note happened tonight that nobody can be bothered to comment? Garland - agricultural show - dress fitting - skylark. Was that it?

Universal · 16/04/2014 21:39

Nothing happened! But is this not a balance as so many stories are about to explode? The David/Ruth story was sad but feels 'over' already. Are we building up to something? I'm not interested in the dairy unless the outcome has an affect on Brian who is a wonderful character. We have the wedding, Helen and Rob and ummmmm little else. Come back Brenda and create a story.

Yes, Universal, I expect this was the calm before the storm. I hope not literally so, given it's the wedding next week!

PseudoBadger · 16/04/2014 22:14

Many references to how besotted Tom will be when he sees Krusty on the wedding day. I fear he won't be.

If the bills start rolling in before the wedding that could take the shine off in a big way. Or maybe she'll rip the dress climbing into the haywain or Cranford Crystal will shit on it and he's a huge horse

Panzee · 16/04/2014 22:27

This has dropped off my Threads I'm On so I'm just here to bump. I am only a day behind now, I don't wait for the omnibus any more. :o

stilllearnin · 16/04/2014 22:52

Panzer well done on improving your life/ archers balance. You are making fine progress!

WillieWEggledEgger · 17/04/2014 06:36

I think Ruth and David and the agricultural show was about them enjoying the family they have etc

R4 · 17/04/2014 11:25

This is like the good old days when Nothing Ever Happened. I don't want EastEnders style murder and mayhem.
I much prefer this.Smile

LillianGish · 17/04/2014 11:42

I agree R4. One of the reasons the Archers has always seemed so real to me (it's not real you know, as dh would point out!) is because plots tonked along at real life pace. I'm finding the whole Tom Kirsty wedding a bit EastEnders - where no one can just get married, but has to be stood up at the altar or something equally unrealistically over-dramatic. I hope the wedding over-spend will play out over an extended period, likewise the Rob Helen EA story. That way the drama, when it comes, is genuinely dramatic - like the death of Betty or of John rather than Nigel's long-heralded demise.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 17/04/2014 11:42

Yes, R4, I like that about TA too. I especially enjoyed the garland scene where we had to work our imaginations very hard to make any sense of what was happening. I'm not sure I succeeded, frankly, but I don't care.

ErrolTheDragonsEgg · 17/04/2014 12:09

I must admit I was listening with half an ear while working, and Nothing Happened to the extent that later I'd totally forgotten I'd heard it at all. Will try to catch the repeat so I can properly enjoy the uneventfulness Grin

FunLovinBunster · 17/04/2014 15:25

I hear that something with the CheeseQueen n Rob story will happen during Krusty and The Chipolata Kids wedding.....

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 17/04/2014 15:44

Gosh! Any clues as to what it might be, or a link to where you found out, in case others don't want spoilers?

ErrolTheDragonsEgg · 17/04/2014 19:12

Novel line in chat-up lines from PC plod...

RhinestoneCowgirl · 17/04/2014 20:17

DH's comment on the PC Plot chat-up was 'he sounds a bit creepy'

GypsyFloss · 17/04/2014 20:52

I haven't managed to listen for days but I managed to catch a couple of mins this evening and it was dull. Adam was moaning and PC Plot was being weird. Bring on the wedding of the year please.

MrsCampbellBlack · 17/04/2014 20:55

I've got a feeling that Rob will tell Kirsty that Tom was having doubts.

Bluestocking · 17/04/2014 21:50

I did like Tom's proverb in yesterday's epi. "When the evening sky is full of gold, your pig will catch a nasty cold."

LarkrisetoAmbridge · 18/04/2014 06:13

Ooh, I don't like that manager chappie "Charlie" - you know the sort ....jumped-up and smarmy, bullshit business jargon, flashy suit, wafting aftershave, and a poncey sports-car. About as welcoming as a dose of gastric flu.

I know the character seemingly knows about farming, but he sounds the sort to have an MBA. He and Justin will "shake-up" the business i.e. Change BL's name to "Borsetshire Sunrise Consolidations", give every-one new job titles, get them to reapply for their old jobs, cancel contracts, then sell-off stuff piece-meal for a huge profit.

Ladyflip · 18/04/2014 07:42

No, lark rise, not a flashy suit. This is the agrics world. It's chinos and a tweed jacket, sunglasses and a land rover discovery! And a degree in Realm (rural land management) rather than agriculture, although there may be an MBA too. Sometimes they become farm managers but more often they are land agents. they are often quite gorgeous but also a bit of a wanker
