Can I ask a question?

I'm not clear about the Peggy's inheritance- has she left the farm to Tom or money? I thought the farm belonged to Tony- I'm Confused

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 21/02/2014 19:42

The farm is Tony & Pat's - Peggy will leave her cash to Tom (Helen gets Peggy's house)

Basketz, NC is "no contact" - used about cutting off toxic parents etc

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 21/02/2014 19:45

LaundryFairy, I don't think what Tony's done is PA - he has been very P for a long time & has now suddenly found his A!

&, tbf, it's his farm, not Tom's! It was Tom's idea to get rid of the dairy herd in the first place & both Pat & Tony were unhappy about that; they did come round gradually but were never enthusiastic. Since then Tom has behaved as if it's all his & Peggy has backed him up - between them they just pushed Tony too far

LillianGish · 21/02/2014 19:46

How much money will she have to leave bearing in mind Jack left all his to Hazel? if she ends up needing as much care as Jack at the end of her days (and bearing in mind Jack's comments about never having her to live with him this week) there might not be much left!

LaundryFairy · 21/02/2014 19:48

I know what you mean about finding his aggressive - I just wish he had bloody spoken to Tom about wanting animals back on the farm - about wanting to be more involved in the business. Instead, he just moaned and moaned to Pat.

ExcuseTypos · 21/02/2014 19:49

Thank you TheOne. I got confused as Tom acts as if he blooming owns the place. He makes me so angryGrin

ExcuseTypos · 21/02/2014 19:51

I'm please Tony has some cows again. He sounded all chuffed for a change

BasketzatDawn · 21/02/2014 19:51

BUT, what Tom seems to have missed is that GrannyPeg needs to be dead before he sees most of the money. She did say too that she was leaving him MOST of her estate - nobody knows how much that is, and she was leaving a small 'something' to the others - not sure if that was the pics nobody seems to like, or if some cash too?

I'd like to think that with the lovely Hazel getting Jack's dosh, and Peg having most of her money from the sale of the Bull, so not a huge amount really, and all the 'helping out' of the SausageKing, he will have hugely overestimated how much Gran is worth. In fact, tis quite possible the house that his sister is getting will be worth more than what is in her bank account. That would be so wonderful methnks.

BasketzatDawn · 21/02/2014 20:00

I see a few cross posts. I agree with above, esp that tony has found his A after his P time. Thing is he WAS talking about his misery at the loss of cows, but Tom wasn't listening. I find it good that he has dealt with the situation that was making so unhappy. his shrink would be proud!! And Pat seems pleased that Tony is happy again.

TemperamentalAroundCorvids · 21/02/2014 20:01

And what of the IHT situation? Could Hellin have to sell her bequest to pay her share? We need figures...

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 21/02/2014 20:04

there's probably an Ambridge IHT fairy to sort that out, Corvids Grin

Panzee · 21/02/2014 20:24

I only caught one line tonight as I was doing bedtime, but what a line... "you've got the wrong farm" "no he hasn't!" Mwahahahaha go Tony! :o

Swannykazoo · 21/02/2014 20:28

Love your username temperamental - one of the best miscellaneous lines from Lynda ever

Songbird · 21/02/2014 21:19

A-amazing episode tonight, loved it. Good old tony, tom is such a nasty bully when it comes to his parents. Well, and hellin is as well - how did p&t end up with children like them? Tom didn't really discuss any of his expansion plans with tony, which was one of the many things getting tone down. He deserves everything he gets. I will be VERY disappointed if this all goes tits up for tony, he really needs this to be a success. Can't wait to hear tom running to gran!

PseudoBadger · 21/02/2014 21:49

Right so i'm predicting a boring old credit card debt SL for Tom and Kirsty. The wedding dress is on the plastic and now the wedding will be too. Therefore their mortgage borrowing will be curtailed and there will be much angst as Tom will have to grovel to Tony to be allowed to build on the farm.

Songbird · 21/02/2014 22:24

Love it!

Burma · 21/02/2014 22:45

Will P & T be upset that Tom won't hold the wedding there now? Can't believe he did that petulant little git Shock!

BitOutOfPractice · 21/02/2014 22:54

Ha! I found you! I've been away in foreignland with no archers access so I've been avoiding this thread.

My lovely lovely boyfriend downloaded a special app so he could circumvent the iPlayer and download this week's episodes. (Love that man. He's a keeper!) and listened to it in the Dutch countryside Grin

My goodness, the scriptwriters have SO been reading the Relationships board here!!!

WillieWaggledagger · 22/02/2014 00:01

I just cringed my way through that whole Helen and Rob sorting out the sheets bollocks

JessieMcJessie · 22/02/2014 00:24

Jack didn't leave all his money to Hazel-Hazel got the majority share in his investments and Peggy a minority share. That said, there was less money in the overall pot than Hazel had anticipated.

ComposHat · 22/02/2014 00:45

Tonight's episode made me punch the air with delight when Tony socked it to Tom by buying the cattle and then cut him down to size when he reminded him that it was his farm and not Tom's.

I also hope he makes a roaring success of Tony Archer Beef so that it dwarfs Tom's piddly sausage endeavours.

Panzee · 22/02/2014 10:52

I so want him to drop in the phrase "Tony Archer Brand" now and again. :o I was really annoyed with Pat &Tone when they capitulated over the dairy herd but still moaned about it. I was shouting at them to tell Tom to shove it!

I missed most of last night, what did Pat think?

TemperamentalAroundCorvids · 22/02/2014 11:08

She said nothing, I think, but we got the impression she was quietly approving :)

Bluestocking · 22/02/2014 11:18

No wonder Kirsty's overcompensating with the dress if she's got a lifetime of Tom's piddly sausage endeavours to look forward to ...

TemperamentalAroundCorvids · 22/02/2014 11:24

Tom is full of feeling rich, even though he isn't yet, because of Peggy's bombshell. Hence the looking at Posh Place. And some of this has rubbed off on Kirsty, hence the dress. I agree that normally she would souce something vintage, but occasionally it is nice to just go for it, if you can (just) afford it.
