Just don't be so careless with your watch Helen

OP posts:
HumphreyCobbler · 21/02/2014 19:10

oh no, I am feeling sorry for Pat and Tony if they change the venue.

Tony sounds so cheerful about the cows.

CuttedUpPear · 21/02/2014 19:11

It's a day for people taking the initiative it seems

Swannykazoo · 21/02/2014 19:12

chemi I was thinking exactly the same! Bed shopping when heavily pregnant involved me lying on the first bed in store until DH found a shortlist of two - I then "tested" the leader whilst he dicked browsed the rest of the shop. Best shopping ever

Shallishanti · 21/02/2014 19:13

Tom is so miserable isn't he

HumphreyCobbler · 21/02/2014 19:13

good for Tony

CuttedUpPear · 21/02/2014 19:13

Ha ha Tom, touche!

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 21/02/2014 19:13

"You've got the wrong farm!"

Hee hee heeGrin

SomethingOnce · 21/02/2014 19:14

Take that, Sausage King of Ambridge!

Shallishanti · 21/02/2014 19:15

oooo.....spoilt brat

CarolineKnappShappey · 21/02/2014 19:16

Finally Tony shows some backbone.

He just needs to go NC with Peggoi as well.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 21/02/2014 19:17

Hurrah for Tony!

HumphreyCobbler · 21/02/2014 19:17

Tom is such a petulant brat.

Anyone else remember his reaction to Rich? Noooo- we can't see him. he might want some of my inheritance!

Rich, who has disappeared again.

toldmywrath · 21/02/2014 19:18

Copy & pasted as I posted on the other (old) thread:
How did I not know about the radio addicts on Mumsnet? I'm a fairly recent listener to The Archers (since 2002 ish-when Ruth was thinking about running off with Sam the cowman)It might've been a bit later than 2002. Never missed an episode since then, but I listen to the Omnibus editions on Sunday.
Can't wait to find out what happens with the Helen/Rob/Jess triangle.
I will be catching up with this thread after Sunday(I don't want any spoilers!) Helen irritates me beyond belief.

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 21/02/2014 19:21

Tom can't just cancel the marquee without consulting Kirsty!!!

Brat

Go Tony! Grin

BasketzatDawn · 21/02/2014 19:22

Utterly brilliant. Go Tony! But I can't help thinking none of this would have happened if Tony had shown some backbone years ago. Better late than never, however. BTW, what is 'NC' in this context?

LaundryFairy · 21/02/2014 19:22

I'm going to be controversial and say that I would be seriously pissed off by Tony's passive aggressive beef herd. Tom has been going on and on abut his plans and Tony hasn't made a peep! And now Tony turns up with his lovely lot and, just to rub salt in the wound, slips in the little fact that he will only be stumping up enough wedding money to pay for a barrel of Bert's dodgy cider!

HumphreyCobbler · 21/02/2014 19:24

Tom has got all that money from Peggy. He will cope.

TemperamentalAroundCorvids · 21/02/2014 19:26

I don't think Tom has shared any detailed plans with anyone, just assumed he had the run of the farm, apart from the veg.

TemperamentalAroundCorvids · 21/02/2014 19:27
  • he just assumed
ZeroSomeGameThingy · 21/02/2014 19:27

Serves Tom damn right. Whose farm does he think it is?

LaundryFairy · 21/02/2014 19:28

I don't doubt Tom will cope, and yes he can be an arrogant little so and so, but I just loathe passive aggressive people and so Tony is my nightmare.

TemperamentalAroundCorvids · 21/02/2014 19:33

I stand corrected by my earlier post - it was clear that Tom had discussed his planting plan in detail - with Rob. A fact that Rob mentioned at the birthday meal, thus prompting Tony to do more 'research'.

HumphreyCobbler · 21/02/2014 19:37

Tony was just trying to claw back control from his overbearing son. I think it was a very satisfying moment to listen to. Although he should have told him in advance, it wouldn't have made such good radio Grin

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 21/02/2014 19:39

Oh yes! Good point Temp

Welcome toldmywrath (great n-name.) Hope you agree this is the best ever.

BasketzatDawn · 21/02/2014 19:39

Och, it's just a story and rather entertaining IMO.
