Just don't be so careless with your watch Helen

OP posts:

where are they living at the moment? in will grundy's buy-to-let?

ppeatfruit · 25/02/2014 12:38

Next door to it IIRC Willie.

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 25/02/2014 12:40

No, in it. Next door is Amside's buy-to-let where Darell He Who Must Not Be Named and the beautiful Albanian spy used to live with their gerrrrrls.

ppeatfruit · 25/02/2014 12:47

OOh AllMimsy my memory is not correct then Grin so if everything goes pear shaped with the wedding of the year there's a possibility of them being kicked out by Will? Grin

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 25/02/2014 12:55

It's perhaps more likely that they may give early notice, in anticipation of a house purchase, and then find they have nothing with which to carry out said purchase. And in the meantime Will could agree a new let. (Oh I do hope so...)

MissMilliment · 25/02/2014 12:58

And what, may I ask, is remotely eco-warrior about flying all the way to Costa Rica for a honeymoon?

I like it that it's Rooth who's so delighted to have Jill running the house for her and it's David having doubts. Makes a change from the usual Mother/daughter in law conflicts.

WillieWaggledagger · 25/02/2014 13:09

presumably pat and tony have helen and henry's room(s) free...

WillieWaggledagger · 25/02/2014 13:12

and the grundys are feeling insecure about hazel now owning their house too so may want to look elsewhere

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 25/02/2014 13:17

I want them to end up in the grotty old caravan where Sharon Richards lived decades ago. Or in the birdwatching hide up at the lake at Arkwright Hall.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 25/02/2014 13:20

Oooh yes - I do remember suggesting that Will might buy his parents' house for them from Hazel. But he might have to sell his investment house to do it. Or, of course, if Eddie and Clarrie face eviction he might offer to move them into No 1 The Green.....

WipsGlitter · 25/02/2014 13:49

Listening on catch up - Rooth's reaction to cottage pie was hilarious, she's mincing some lamb Rooth, not splitting the atom!!

What do we think is going to be the come uppance for Tom and all this mad overspending??

Shallishanti · 25/02/2014 13:55

Re Jolene and Kenton, I don't think are in danger of splitting up.
I think what we are seeing there is a healthy relationship that can withstand conflict, where there is actual trust - not undermined by either party doing stupid things- remember when she spoke to Helen in the pub toilet- explaining that Kenton doesn't bat an eyelid when she flirts with the customers (hopefully Helen will remember that when Rob starts accusing her of looking at other men)- also she apparently genuinely likes Jill and doesn't see her as an enemy/rival.

bigbadbarry · 25/02/2014 13:55

I think he'll have to eat humble pie and build on the farm after all. Though I don't know who will pay for that.

ppeatfruit · 25/02/2014 13:56

Poor Ruth (i find plotlines involving burning food etc. a bit dubious how hard is it to follow a recipe or turn down an oven if you're going out? Especially if you've got all yer marbles) Grin

WillieWaggledagger · 25/02/2014 13:58

when is leonie's baby due? i'm quite looking forward to the lilian/lynda moments

GypsyFloss · 25/02/2014 14:55

I love the idea of the newly weds having to eat humble pie and start married life in Henry's old room. It would do the Sausage King a power of good I reckon.

WillieWaggledagger · 25/02/2014 15:18

pore ole kirsty though. she is a Genuinely Nice Person i think

GypsyFloss · 25/02/2014 15:55

She is. And I predict that it will end up with a small wedding as they realise that they just don't have the money and in fact all the extravagant plans are not actually making them happy.

ComposHat · 25/02/2014 17:11

I like it that it's Rooth who's so delighted to have Jill running the house
I bet she does, having an elderly maid of all work to skivvy for her and Daveed.

GypsyFloss · 25/02/2014 17:20

Absolutely. How on earth did she ever manage to raise 3 children with her gormless " I don't know how to cook " attitude. Oh yes...pizza and chips , how could I forget.

Have a I mentioned how much I hate Ruth and her irritating foghorn voice? Grin

WillieWaggledagger · 25/02/2014 17:35

i don't know why david or one of the children can't do a bit of the cooking

AllMimsyWereTheBorogroves · 25/02/2014 17:39

The only time I ever remember David cooking was on the infamous night when Ruth set off for Oxford to meet Pigman Sam and eventually thought better of it while stuck in a traffic jam on the Oxford ring road. This was intercut with scenes of David and the keeeds back at home making spaghetti bolognese.

WillieWaggledagger · 25/02/2014 17:40

ah i wasn't listening at that time.

though i do sit in traffic on the oxford ring road three times a week

mothermirth · 25/02/2014 17:47

Can you tell me what you all think about this: when Rob was explaining to Helen about Jess's suicide attempt early in her career, he said he found her when he went back to get his laptop. Is it just me, or does it seem unlikely that he would have had a laptop back then. How old are they meant to be? How long ago would early in her career have been? I've been wondering about this for hours today. Please enlighten me Smile

SomethingOnce · 25/02/2014 17:56

If Jess is, what, 35 max now and 'early in career' was when she was 25 (postgrad), ten years ago would be reasonable to have a laptop...
