Hello you two :o

OP posts:
LondonMother · 15/01/2014 19:55

Errol, sadly it looks as if the story comes from the Daily Star, so I doubt very much if there's anything in it.

I'd have expected a classical music festival at LL, but I don't expect there's much money in those.

Graceparkhill · 15/01/2014 19:59

Yes Errol- I may not have it entirely right because I had to turn off the radio because it was excruciating listening.

Lizzy and Ifty bonded over his tutoring of rock steady Freddie. She cooked him dinner at LL as a thank you and he declared (or hinted) that he had feelings for her. Lizzy got in a tizzy ( sorry) and said she would always be faithful to Nigel ( or something).

BasketzatDawn · 15/01/2014 20:02

I thought she was just grateful for the efficiency of Roy's work practices. I think if Jill just gets her eyes fixed, she'll be fine in her lonesome cottage - all that chuntering and giggling and sighing would drive any self-respecting older man nuts. No?

Minimammoth · 15/01/2014 23:22

They could have a mini Glyndebourne, opera and picnic.

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 15/01/2014 23:41

mm, they could...

Mumfords were mentioned though...which suggests to me that they may have already agreed to be involved Grin

Graceparkhill · 16/01/2014 10:19

This is what I find sooo annoying about TA.

In RL the Mumfords are unlikely to get involved at a moments notice for a random festival.

I have had some experience of trying to book a C list celeb for an event and even getting to speak to their agent's PA was days of work.

In the end the person who did agree for a reasonable fee pulled out when some telly work came up.

I really need to get out more, don't I ?

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 16/01/2014 10:35

I'm sure Glyndeboure is the sort of thing Elizabeth might want! But that wouldn't really play to Ambridge's strengths....

It's sure to be more "family friendly" and involve hot meats and LL wine abundantly available on site. Probably cider and alpaca oddments as well.

ZeroSomeGameThingy · 16/01/2014 10:36

But a good point about Mumfords (urgh). They may well have pre-arranged that.

Brillig · 16/01/2014 11:16

I expect Lizzie will casually reveal that there is that full-size opera house at LoLo which has just been sitting there unused all these years, a la all the houses, fields and agri buildings that suddenly appear without any previous mention.

Loxbourne would be far more in keeping (not to mention quieter) than Glasto-on-Am Grin

curlew · 16/01/2014 11:29

Do you think Will really has told George that Ed's going to poison Holly? Really?

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 16/01/2014 12:33

No - I think George has decided that for himself, being on the lookout for 'dodgy' behaviour by Ed. Will is bound to have banged on about Ed killing Bas.

MrsCampbellBlack · 16/01/2014 15:29

Well, I'd bang on if my brother killed my dog I suspect.

Ed should be grateful Will didn't involve the police and that the farmer who sold them Holly didn't do a home visit and find out about Emma's creative lies.

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 16/01/2014 16:20

That's not the point though. He shouldn't bang on about it to/within earshot of George - that's not fair on anybody.

However he feels himself about Ed in general, & Ed shooting Bas in particular, knowing that George was already upset & angry with Ed he should not be trying to ruin their relationship permanently

George lives with Ed, FGS - or is twisted Will hoping to get him away? Hmm

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 16/01/2014 16:29

I must say how lovely it is to have multiple ongoing plots that I care about again!

Is it just a coincidence that it follows on from ol' VW riding into the sunset?

MrsCampbellBlack · 16/01/2014 18:09

The point is ed is yet again blaming will. Ed shot the dog and we don't know will has been banging on. But for some people everything is always will's fault.

At some point George is going to realise how odd it is to live with his mum and uncle. I suspect this is the beginning of a difficult step relationship.

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 16/01/2014 18:14

Will took great delight recently in telling Ed how much George really hates him; would he do that if he was discouraging those feelings & trying to make George stop thinking of Ed as a dog murderer?

That is spiteful, & bad parenting, & makes a bad situation worse. It's no wonder Will is disliked, really, is it?

TallGiraffe · 16/01/2014 19:13

Shock Angry Shock "Daddy"!

MrsCampbellBlack · 16/01/2014 19:14

Well, you know, sleep with your brother's wife, shoot his dog . . .

Team Will v Team Ed - is this the bf/ff of the archers thread Wink

I'm actually neither team - I think they're both annoying.

TallGiraffe · 16/01/2014 19:15

I think Pat's a MNer though!

ErrolTheDragon · 16/01/2014 19:16

Poor Peggy - being an executor is a thankless task at the best of times.

Wonder if the community shop will survive?

TheSparklyPussycat · 16/01/2014 19:19

I was expecting someone to say roughly how much care in the Laurels had cost - but perhaps Jeck was so rich (even after the Losses) that it was a drop in the ocean.

Kudos to the announcer in reply to last line of epi: "Good question! Shall we make a list?"

GypsyFloss · 16/01/2014 19:21

Oh my...Pat and Helen. A really decent story happening at last.

CarolineKnappShappey · 16/01/2014 19:27

I think that it's a massive error for Jack to have left the shop to Hazel. Surely he would have known that she will flog it.

It seems totally out of character

MissBetseyTrotwood · 16/01/2014 19:29

Ooh, can I join? I'm loving the Pat and Helen storyline.

I have to say I'm Team Ed though, especially after his crack ordeal. If I never heard Will and Nic ever again it would be too soon.

TheOneWithTheNicestSmile · 16/01/2014 19:36

I was so disappointed with the will Angry

I thought Peggy had the shop though? When Helen had the flat above it was like a family arrangement. Was she just organising it for Jack?
